24.01.2022 Our recent success stories: We represented a client in Chorley Magistrates court who faced a S172 allegation of failing to provide driver details. Had been advised by other solicitors to plead guilty. We looked at the case differently and established the client had a valid defence. We attended court in the clients absence and persuaded the prosecution to withdraw the case. A delighted client and a big bunch of flowers sent to our office by midday!! The day only got better when we attended Burnley magistrates court, representing a company who faced three allegations of failing to give driver details. Again we persuaded the prosecution to withdraw the case!
24.01.2022 A QUESTION WE OFTEN HEAR THIS TIME OF YEAR Q: So how much can I can drink and still be under the limit? A: The amount of alcohol you can drink before you're considered over the limit varies from person to person. It depends on:... - Your weight, age, sex and metabolism (the rate your body uses energy) - The type and amount of alcohol youre drinking - Your stress levels - What youve eaten A typical pint contains around one to two units. A glass of wine can be between one and a half to three units, depending on the strength and the size of the glass. Some people could be okay to drive after one or two drinks while some may find themselves over the limit after just one. TO AVOID ANY CONCERNS ASK A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER FOR A LIFT HOME! HAVE A SAFE MAD FRIDAY!

16.01.2022 At Motoring Lawyer we take care of a wide range of motoring cases in court, but where possible we try to ensure that the case never has to make it to court. Recently we represented a client for using a vehicle without the appropriate insurance in place. This wasnt a typical case of no driver insurance as the client believed to have the appropriate insurance in place. When an eagle eyed police officer checked the insurance out he discovered that the client had *allegedly* fai...led to declare his penalty points to his insurer when setting up his new policy. As this is not a typical motoring offence case it involved a complex legal issue of whether an insurance policy is VOID or VOIDABLE if penalty points have not been disclosed to the insurer. Due to the complexity of the case our client placed his case in our experienced hands. After a lot of hard work from the team at Motoring Lawyer the case was subsequently withdrawn at court and the client faced no further charges. The client was delighted that the case had been dropped, especially as it was a simple error on behalf of the client when setting up the policy. Another delighted client who has benefited from our combined decades of experience in representing clients motoring matters! At Motoring Lawyer, we will do everything within our power to protect and preserve your driving licence. Our specialist team of dedicated motoring lawyers are committed to ensuring that you are provided with expert advice and assistance when faced with a criminal motoring prosecution. Call our team today on 01274 744 888.

02.01.2022 Q: Can I still drive if I have more than 12 penalty points? A: Once you reach 12 penalty points you will have to go to Court to argue whether or not you can keep your licence. An argument to keep your licence after accruing 12 penalty points can only be used once in any three year period.... If you are due to go before the Court and you feel there is a risk of you acquiring 12 or more penalty points please contact us as soon as possible in order for us to prepare your case and assist you in keeping your licence.
