24.01.2022 This week was very special . We had all 6 of our longest serving volunteers, each having given over 20 years of continuous service to the museum . From left, Noel Ing, Ron Powell, Ken Devine, Trevor Harrison, Alf Empsall and Adrian Barnes. Standing behind Daniel Ricciardo’s RB10. How special is that? It was fitting as Daniel this week showed his brilliance placing third in his first ever podium finish for Renault . It was a double celebration. The volunteers photo will be used in a banner we are developing to celebrate our 25th year of operation . The museum is what it is today because of the fantastic team of volunteers past and present who turn up 364 days a year giving of their time to preserve WA’s motoring history.

24.01.2022 A glorious day for the Annual Maurice Brockwell Run with a huge variety of vehicles flagged off by Maurice’s daughter Esther( thank you Esther) and lead out by the MG car Club who members were celebrating 90 years of MG . All vehicles were heading on a scenic route to finish in York. Thank you all who supported this important event on The Motor Museum of WA calendar. A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers who were on hand to ensure the event ran smoothly at Whiteman Park and York, so much appreciated. Finally, thank you to George and Allan from Curtin Radio for doing the morning broadcast from Whiteman Park

15.01.2022 What a special day to have The fastest Aussie on earth Rosco McGlashin and his wife Cheryl with the Aussie Invader 5 support crew Barry Fitzsimmons, Chris DeMunck and our very own volunteer Peter Taylor visit our museum, wonderful people. We have a special display in the museum honouring the amazing feats of Rosco and his team. In 1994 on the dry salt flats of Lake Gairdner in SA Rosco set the Australian land speed record at 802.6 km/h and now he is building Aussie Invader 5R... with the plan to crack 1,600 km/h or 1000 miles per hour in a unit that will go 0 to 1000 mph in around 20 seconds!! That’s fast !! . Rosco also holds the world record for the fastest go kart ( rocket powered naturally) at 407hm/h . See our display to the fastest Aussie at The Motor Museum of WA at Whiteman Park open 10am to 4pm 7 days a week #aussieinvader5r #motormuseum #whitemanpark #perth #swanvalley See more

11.01.2022 This is a statement vehicle to be sure, a 1983 Zimmer Golden Spirit. Zimmer an American automaker, established IN 1978 in Syracuse, New York. The Zimmer Golden Spirit was the it flagship with more than 1,500 produced during 1978 to 1988. The Golden Spirit was built using a Ford Mustang chassis and drivetrain. Ford supplied Zimmer new Mustangs, which were then modified by stretching the frame for a longer wheelbase and modifying the bodywork etc. The Mustang VIN was retained as it met all the required US safety features at the time. Zimmer’s are manufactured "on an order" basis . A current Zimmer Golden Spirit will set you back approx $175,900 US or a lazy $255,565 Aussie. Come check it out at The Motor Museum of WA at Whiteman Park.#whitemanpark #wonderoutdoors #councilofmotoringclubswa

10.01.2022 1951 MERCEDES BENZ 170 VA Missy is a rare right-hand drive version of the 170va which started her life in Singapore attached to the Foreign Service there. In 1966 she made her way to Australia and sat in a shed for approx. 53 years. In 2009 she was rediscovered and the then owner elected to convert to a ’38 Cabriolet with the assistance of the MB veteran car club in Germany. The conversion is period correct as the specifications of the 170V remained largely unchanged betwee...n the late 1930’s to 1951 allowing for this conversion. The 170 is the longest running production model for the marque. Its current owners bought ‘Missy to the West in 2017 Kindly on loan from Natalie and Perry Tonking.

Come to The Motor Museum of WA , no time machine required to see our beautiful and rare RH drive DeLorean in the flesh. 04.01.2022 We have just placed this 1995 MGRV8 Roadster , one of only 1,983 manufactured between 1992-1995 by MG-Rover in England. The majority of RV8’s (1,583) were exported to Japan. The RV8 was the last version of the very popular MGB series. The 3.9-litre all aluminium V8 developed 190BHP, a massive improvement over the B-Series. These cars were virtually hand built on the MG Rover production line in Cowley, with larger body panels, a wider track to improve handling and upgraded suspension. The interior was streets ahead with its wooden dashboard and Connolly leather seats, and while it may have looked olde worlde, it was perfectly in keeping with the MG’s role as quintessential British sportscar and have become highly sought after. The Motor Museum is open everyday from 10am to 4pm at Whiteman Park, come check out this MGRV8

04.01.2022 Our latest addition to The Motor Museum of WA at Whiteman Park is the special RUF CR 32 - 1985 This is the only known original widebody RUF CR32 in the world and is incredibly rare. Chassis #12 RUF W09 was the very first North American/Canadian specification RUF. The vehicle was one of RUF’s first wide-body Carrera builds and a pre-cursor to the production of the famous Yellowbird in 1987. ... This vehicle was hand constructed by RUF’s Engineering Team in Pfaffenhausen, Germany. The vehicle was specifically designed as a naturally aspirated model. This vehicle has a comprehensive provenance file with every invoice and receipt accounted for over its life from the pre-order. The vehicle was featured in the Sept 2017 edition of 911 & PORSCHE WORLD. The vehicle was found in a barn in Canada in 2013 by the current owners and shipped to Australia in 2020 and now based in Perth. Very kindly on loan to the Museum by Natalie and Perry Tonking See more
