Congrats to those who passed a stage and to those who didn't remember to keep practising or as Dory would say "just keep swimming!" Thank you to our VacSwim Centre Supervisor Caryn and her team of swim teachers for all their work over the 4 weeks, it is much appreciated.

17.01.2022 It's been another busy day processing photos from the SunSmart Country Pennants carnival in Mount Barker last weekend. What a great carnival. There's over 1500... photos on the webpage and I haven't finished Day 1 yet. We hope you enjoy taking a look through the album - and we hope we captured everyone at least once, we certainly tried. There's a lot more than 1500 photos yet to come so take your time checking them out. We've broken them down into 2-hour blocks but the crossover times may be out by a few minutes - we didn't synchronise watches with the cameras. You can view the photos on our website: www.downunderimages.com If you have queries feel free to contact us by email at: [email protected] Meanwhile, here's a few samples during the period 10.00am to 2.00pm on Saturday.

17.01.2022 There is a great opportunity for interested Year 11 and 12 students to become qualified swimming instructors and gain employment with the Department over the su...mmer holidays. The Minister for Education and Training has announced that we will be funding eligible students to obtain an accredited Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) qualification and a CPR qualification. To be eligible, students must be at least 17 years of age at the start of Term 4. They are not required to have already completed a minimum level of swimming stage. As part of the course requirements, students will need to: attend a one-day face-to-face course (CPR and SAT) complete up to 30 hours of self-paced online learning participate in a supervised teaching placement with us. The training will be available across the metropolitan area and in specific regional centres. Ongoing support and mentoring will be provided to all trainees. On completion, students can then apply for swimming instructor positions across the State. Information for students and their families can be found at education.wa.edu.au/swimming. Registrations for the course close 10.00am, Monday 16 November 2020.

14.01.2022 **IMPORTANT INFORMATION for members and patrons of Mount Barker Swimming Pool** To keep all Western Australians safe, the WA Government has mandated that from Saturday, 5th December 2020 particular businesses and venues must maintain a daily contact register of their staff, patrons, volunteers and contractors for COVID-19 contact tracing. All members, visitors, spectators or parents of children will be required to register their contact details by either signing a contact reg...ister at reception or by scanning the QR code that is displayed at the reception counter. Children under 16 are not required to sign in however we will encourage parents to record the names of children with them at the time. The QR code is a free system that uses QR codes to register attendance. It's quick, convenient, easy to use and contactless. The SafeWA app sends accurate customer information directly to WA Health, and is readily available for WA Health to access if it becomes necessary. The contact register records will only be held for 28 days. Please see our friendly staff if you have any queries regarding this process or visit the State Government website: https://www.wa.gov.au//covid-19-coronavirus-contact-regist Kind regards, Mount Barker Swimming Pool
