22.01.2022 Our Primary Cross Country race and Colour Run had a fundraising element this year. We would like to congratulate the MECS Primary families for raising an incredible $4500 for Gawa Christian School and The Alannah and Madeline Foundation. Amazing effort!

22.01.2022 Congratulations to our Class of 2020! Students and staff gathered on Saturday for our Graduation Ceremony. Parents joined by livestream. It was a wonderful celebration with beautiful heartfelt speeches by the staff for each student. Go with our blessing Class of 2020, we are excited to see what your future holds!

19.01.2022 Isaiah, Year 10, recently created this animation for his VCE subject, Studio Art. 'I created both the music and the animation. The piece is an interpretation of the Creation story, chronologically moving through the days of the story in sections of the song and animation. 15.01.2022 The sun was shining this morning for our Primary Cross Country race and Colour Run. It was so wonderful to see our students and staff having such a great time together. Special thanks to Mr Brown for all his organising!

15.01.2022 Today is Rememberance Day. It is now the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. This marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after the bloodshed of World War 1. Over the past century, this moment has been adopted to remember those who served and sacrificed in other wars and conflicts. We observed a minute of silence to remember those who sacrificed for our freedom.

10.01.2022 Congratulations to Isaiah, Year 10, who has been accepted into the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars program through The University of Melbourne. Applicants need to have demonstrated outstanding academic ability across all subjects as well as leadership potential. Isaiah will have exclusive access to University of Melbourne academic and enrichment activities. Well done Isaiah!

10.01.2022 Twelve students recently met with Lara (our new VCAL Coordinator) and Lance (VCAL Literacy teacher) to dream up plans and possibilities for our new VCAL program next year. The room was buzzing with the prospect of projects, small businesses and ideas for creating some exciting changes and events around the MECS community and beyond. Watch this space; VCAL at MECS promises to be an entrepreneurial, innovative and productive force!

05.01.2022 We are excited to introduce Emily Grimes to you! Emily will be joining the MECS team next year as our Middle School Sport/PE and Year 12 PE teacher. Emily is married to Neale and has two young sons. Emily is looking forward to investing into and getting to know the MECS Community.

02.01.2022 We are excited to introduce Helen Metcalfe to you! Helen will be teaching Primary Music next year. (Mr Mealy is moving to Middle School Music) Helen has been a music teacher for over 20 years, her husband is also a teacher and they have two teenagers. Helen recently said ‘I feel very strongly that God has blessed me with musical and creative gifts that He wants me to share with everyone around me so they can become the creative beings that He intended them to be. I am excited about starting up some cool instrumental ensembles, organising concerts and music excursions and helping out with assemblies and excursions throughout the primary school. I can’t wait to meet all the amazing students and their families at MECS next year!’
