A: GOLD COIN (All donations are greatly appreciated) *15 years and under FREE entry* Q: Who can take part? Is only currently registered players thatcan play? A: The 2.0 mini bball tournament is open to anybody, open men's & open women's- both registered and unregistered. Players who are unregistered will need to complete some paperwork (at no $ cost) before they can take the court. Q: What Rules will apply? A: General bball rules will apply however there are twists (and turns). We're running a more free-flowing, fast paced, relaxed rules to enable a more entertaining and fun tourney. Q: Who are the officials? A: Each team is required to provide a referee. There will be a debrief for all players, coaches and officials prior to the start of games. Q: What are the prizes? And how much is it to enter a team? A: Have you read the poster? $50 per team Registrations for the one night tourney. 18.01.2022 UPDATE: SATURDAY 3 OCT. 2020: Thank you to everybody who participated and came to watch/support last nights 2.0 Basketball Tourney. It was another huge success. The final match was between Panda & Bears, with Bears taking the WIN and so are the overall winners. A special mention and shout to open women's crew, Wahine Toa and the MIBA U18's for bringing the x-factor game and keeping the enthusiasm alive for those of us that were struggling with our fitness Hopefully ne...xt time we can get more female teams to join in to lift the tourney even more and better THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION. We have a few more fundraising initiatives in the future. So we ask for your continued support. Every penny goes back to getting the Sports & Rec stadiun to where it should be. Lem is an active member of MIBA who participates in both volleyball & basketball. He had seen the challenges we faced and had offered his services. On behalf of the MIBA Committee we thank you Lem, Mickey & SIS & appreciate all you did. The Mount Isa Multi-Purpose Sports and Rec Centre is o...wned & managed by the Mount Isa Basketball Association Incorporated, a not-for-profit organisation. To maintain our facility which is utilised by various community groups including sports groups, our funding is gained through membership & grants. There is a lot that goes into maintaining the building so the grants and membership fees don't fully cover the cost. Hence you would have seen some fundraising initiatives including a GOFUNDME page from us. Every penny gained goes back to maintaing the facilty therefore going back to the community when used. The facility would be great for any businesses that would like to partner with us and support us through Sponsorship. The Sports & Rec Centre is becoming a more & more popular spot for reckonision. 09.01.2022 2 FROM 2! MOUNT ISA MINERS BASKETBALL REPPIN' IN THE CURRY Last night (Wedsday 25/11/20) a group of our U18 juniors and Open seniors headed to Cloncurry for some basketball games. It was a fantastic night for our Miners rep teams! Our juniors played first and had a back-n-forth battle w the junior Cloncurry locals who did not back down. Some solid defence from both sides kept the game interesting but eventually it would be the scoring abilities of the young Miners tha...t would prove the difference. Our seniors had a slightly easier match as our Miners were difficult to contain. The speed and skill from our senior Miners would prove the difference - It was blow-out .. Overall and more important than the games itself was the experience for everybody to play ball outside of the Isa & the opportunity to catch up w our neighbours is what topped it for me. All players & staff had enjoyed the experience so much that they look forward to future games. Special mention & thanks to Sargent Ben & Steve from the Curry for organising the event.
