24.01.2022 Dear Parents/Caregivers, We now have 100% of our students working remotely from home completing the tasks that have been sent home in hard copy, additional activity booklets are also available for collection today. Please call the Office upon your arrival to arrange Mrs Jones to bring the work to the front gate. To enable the school to track the learning that is currently happening from home, we have set up at the school front gate a table with 2 trays ready for families to d...rop work for teachers to mark. Once work has been deposited teachers will mark the work and provide feedback either via the telephone or on Microsfoft Teams. The school is moving to Microsoft Teams for Home Learning (hard copies will still be made available for those families needing this format), to make this process as simple as possible we are progressing slowly, please see below for initial set-up tasks. Microsoft Teams First Steps: * Please click on the link in this notification to watch a short informative video on Teams- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx8xHpRMFHU * Download Google Chrome for free onto the device(s) that your child/children will be using to access the learning online. Simply google 'Google Chrome download'. Microsoft Teams will not work effectively through internet explorer. Students log-in to the student portal (google 'Department of Education')- usernames and log-ins are on a sticker on the front of your original clear Home Learning folder. * On student portal homepage click on Microsoft Office 365- if this link is not visible click on 'show more' under Learning. * Click on Teams- the site may require you to click through a few informative tasks. * Turn on notifications- this will enable you to receive a notification when there is a new task or post from your child's teacher. * Go to the Posts- send your class teacher a message to let us know that you are able to access the site. Anything you write in Posts is visible to the whole class at this stage. * Have an explore of the site- go to youtube to watch any informative videos. * We will be in contact shortly to test the site further for meetings with individual students (students will be able to see and chat to their teacher but teachers will only be able to hear the student at this stage depending on the device microphone capability). All of the MtK staff are so thankful for the support we have received in implementing remote learning during these exceptional circumstances. The commitment all of our parents/caregivers have displayed to the learning of their children is inspiring. We celebrate you today ...
