15.01.2022 Hello All First Officers, Secretaries and Brigade Trainers Please be advised that Area Office is facilitating a Firefighter Minimum Skills (FMS) Course. Information is as follows: Date: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December 2020 Time: Commence 0830. Please be present by no later then 0815 for a punctual start... Location: 602 Ingham Road, Training room 2 (Downstairs) Additional information: Dress: Please ensure you have full PPE if issued as this will be required for practical assessments throughout the weekend including the hazard reduction burn (weather pending). Classroom wear can be your yellow pants, boots, long sleeved blue shirt. Please note if you have been issued a blue RFS polo shirt this is not be worn whilst undertaking the practical assessments and should only be worn in the classroom with the issued blue cargo pants. : if you have not been issued your PPE please ensure you have jeans, long sleeved cotton shirt, broad brim hat. Some brigades still have back up old PPE that they may be able to lend you so please enquire at your brigade. Please note we do not have any spare stock in area office. : All nominees MUST have a USI. Please ensure this is provided upon RSVP to ensure we have it recorded on your profile as some new members are joining and not providing their USI : For our brigades out of the Townsville City Council Area, if you have members who are available to attend this course, we can provide accommodation for their overnight stay. Please inform me of this requirement upon RSVP. RSVP: please RSVP to myself via email by Monday 30th November 2020 : upon RSVP please include any dietary requirements : due to the large number of candidates that could possibly be attending the course, we are also requesting the assistance of additional trainers. If you are a recognised FMS trainer and wish to assist with the course delivery, please RSVP to me coupled with which topics you may wish to deliver. We will have a trainers night on Thursday 3rd December to discuss the course deliver and assessments. 02.01.2022 Good Morning First Officers, Secretaries & Brigade Trainers; Round Mountain RFB would like to extend an invitation to all brigades to put forward nominations for a Firefighter Minimum Skills Course, being conducted at Round Mountain RFB Station, on the 24th and 25th of October. Please disseminate this email to all of your members who require the training.... Prospective candidates must be a member with a brigade, with an RFS ID number, and must ensure their USI is entered into Nexus prior to nominating, if help is required with the entering of the USI into Nexus, please contact Area Office for assistance. Nominations are to be sent to Area Office through the first officer or secretary, with prior approval from the first officer.
