18.01.2022 Firefighters Remembrance Day QFES flags will be flown at half-mast across Queensland today as we remember the firefighters who have died while protecting and s...erving their communities. Today, we stop on the 10th hour on the 10th day of the 10th month to honour and pay tribute to our fallen firefighters, as well as their families, friends and colleagues. We are forever grateful for the sacrifice they made to protect others.

16.01.2022 Some parts of the state have a ‘Very High’ fire danger rating (FDR) for the next few days. So, what the heck does the term FDR even mean? If a fire were to occu...r under these conditions then it may be difficult to control and the flames could burn into the tree tops. Some homes and businesses may be damaged or destroyed, and you should only use your home as a place of safety if it is well-prepared and well-constructed. Experts use this tool to assess the potential fire behaviour, how difficult it could be to suppress a fire, and the potential impact on the community should a bushfire occur.

13.01.2022 Today we will pause to remember the life of Sam McPaul, a volunteer from the Morven Brigade, who lost his life while protecting the community on this day last y...ear. Sam, a young father to be, was killed when a freak weather event flipped the fire truck he was on while battling fires in southern NSW. Commissioner Rob Rogers will today broadcast a message of support to volunteers in the area today, and they will hold a moment's silence to reflect. Tomorrow, we will also remember the passing of Colin Burns from the Belowra Brigade, who lost his life on New Years Eve last year. 25 people lost their lives last bush fire season - our most challenging fire season in our history. We remember all of them at this time of year. 12.01.2022 Today is Firefighters Remembrance Day, a time to pay tribute to firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Since 1877, 53 Queen...sland firefighters have paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our communities. Today, we will come together to honour their memory and acknowledge the immense sacrifices they, their families and their communities have made. Around the state, QFES flags will be flown at half-mast to honour and remember them. The Commissioner Greg Leach Please pause to remember our fallen hero’s at 10:00am on the 10th day of the 10th month. We will remember them!
