24.01.2022 Today the centre remembered those who helped make our country a safer place. The possum children participated in some stain glass collages whilst the kookaburra children stopped at 11:11 for a minute of silence, they learnt how respectful this was and what a great job all the children did

20.01.2022 We have had a busy week at daycare. Our Christmas concert has been performed and videoed this week and will be ready for families to view online in the coming weeks. Then work on our toddler’s outdoor area was started. The children have been so excited watching the old shade structure being removed and the new poles being delivered and stacked by the crane ready for installation this weekend.

19.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK 2020 has well and truely become underway here at daycare. This morning the children in the kookaburra and koala room were busy painting their cave painting area which was made out of a recycled cardboard box. We look forward to hearing and looking at the stories that come with it at the end of the week



18.01.2022 Welcome back to another week of fun, laughter and learning experiences. This morning for a free choice in play the Kookaburra and Koala children went on a spray bottle hunt for find their letter. We heard encouraging words from each friend as their letter was found. This was also a great experience to warm up our fine motor skills for the week. I wonder what’s in stall for the rest of the week

17.01.2022 This weeks learning adventures have been nothing short of fun with different ways of expanding our understanding about different cultures. Today the children had a free choice within their morning play to hand craft a snake using clay. The children worked together, spreading the clay around and talking about different parts of the snake. We look forward to tomorrow and what the educators have in stall for everyone

16.01.2022 Did someone say PIZZA?!!! Today the children all enjoyed home made pizza for lunch! Topped with all the essentials the children devoured their specially handcrafted pieces. What’s on the menu at your home tonight?

14.01.2022 This week we acknowledge and celebrate the history and achievements of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people. The theme for this year Always Was, Always Will Be recognises that First Nations People. Yesterday the Joey Room children participate in activities that help them learn about traditional culture.

14.01.2022 Yesterday the children planted Indigenous bush tucker plants in our new reconciliation garden.

08.01.2022 This week the children worked on a group project which was an interpretation of The Aboriginal memorial artwork by Don Mundine OAM. It is a celebration of past, present and future life. Our represention is of the traditional owners of our land The Bindal and Wulgurukaba people on either side of the Ross River and the footprints signify moving forward together as one people.

07.01.2022 Very exciting play yesterday in the Joey Room. Bubble play, blowing bubble paintings and squirting water using dispensers as well as green slime with frogs. I wonder what the children having been doing today.

05.01.2022 Who doesn’t love a spontaneous water day with this change in weather. The Joey children loved splashing, jumping and laughing as they ran under the sprinkler. Due to the amount of fun that was had (also by educators) we are planning another water play for next Wednesday, we can’t wait

04.01.2022 Kookaburra and joey room children made their own special dessert pizzas for afternoon tea. Pancake, custard, marshmallows, smarties and chocolate topping. Yummy, special treat.

02.01.2022 New style of painting? This week the Koala and Kookaburra children used ice cubes as the paint brush and began creating different pieces of art on the tables. We found mixing the colours together created a new colour whilst the cool ice cube melted between our fingers. I wonder what next week will bring

02.01.2022 Monday’s call for a play outdoors soaking up our beautiful weather. Today the children made nature potions as a free choice activity. We seen beautiful sharing skills and great communication of idea.
