13.01.2022 Good afternoon MRC community! All Mount Ridley College students who are aged between 12-25 are being encouraged to apply for the Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG Memorial Award. Are you: a leader in the community?... a high achiever at school? good at sport? a team player? creative? dedicated to chasing a dream? If you said yes to any of the above, you’re a perfect candidate for the Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG Memorial Award, which is giving up to $5,000 to young Hume City residents to help them achieve a goal. The award was established by Hume City Council to recognise the legacy of Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG, a Hume local and national hero who passed away in 2013. Cameron Baird was a student at the Gladstone Views Primary School and at Gladstone Park Secondary College. He was highly involved in the community and, among other things, will be remembered for wanting to inspire the next generation.
