22.01.2022 Our PBS focus for this week is Be Cooperative - Be A Good Sport. Looking forward to a great sports carnival on Friday.



21.01.2022 Last week our Year 6 students participated in the RAC Imagine Program. The program is designed for the students to discover past and future technologies and learn about the changing nature of transport, mobility and road safety.

21.01.2022 Today the P&C are launching their Cheesecake Fundraiser! Order forms will be going home with children today. Please support our wonderful P&C who work hard to raise funds for our school.

17.01.2022 Our Year 6 PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge) students graduated today. They have been participating in the programme for the last two years. Well done to Finn, Gus, Kaitlyn and Phoenix. We are proud of you!



16.01.2022 POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT This term our behaviour expectation focus has been "Be Cooperative". We are finishing off the term focussing on playing fairly and safely, taking turns in games, following the rules and sharing equipment. Well done to all our students for the way they have been cooperative in the classroom and the playground this term.

16.01.2022 This week we are continuing with our PBS focus of BE POLITE. We are remembering to use our manners in the playground and in the classroom. We are so lucky at Mount Tarcoola Primary to have such well mannered students.

16.01.2022 We enjoyed ourselves this morning, competing in today’s interschool events. We won some ribbons across all age groups and just missed out on some other places in photo finishes. Our children were beautifully behaved and displayed good sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see so many parents there supporting our athletes. Well done everyone. We’re looking forward to the carnival on Thursday.

15.01.2022 End of Term Term 3 ends for students on Thursday 24th September 2020 and recommences for term 4 on Tuesday 13th October 2020. Term 3 ends for staff on Friday 25th September 2020 and recommences for term 4 on Monday 12th October 2020.



14.01.2022 MTPS Flanders Field Students created poppies to give a visual demonstration of Flanders Field on Remembrance day. This allowed for discussion of the significance of this special day and was a poignant reminder of those who sacrificed.

14.01.2022 Dear Parents, Due to the Covid 19 restrictions still being in place in regards to physical distancing we need to change the way we do our end of year presentation events. Year 6 Graduation Ceremony and Awards Presentation Assembly. Children are bringing home letters today that explain the procedures for these events for 2020. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to all our students who participated in the regional Numero competition yesterday. We had two Year 6 teams and a Year 5 team compete. A photo of our Year 5 team the "Double Negatives".

12.01.2022 Science year 2 Students have been learning about force. They have been exploring push and pull that is applied to an object to change its position, direction, shape and size or a combination of these. Students tested their push cars they made in science

12.01.2022 This year’s annual Mount Tarcoola Spelling Bee was an outstanding success. We had 136 students compete in the Spelling Bee from years 3 to 6. MTPS students' Spelling has improved significantly over the last 4 years due to our Whole School Approach to Systematic Synthetic Phonics. 11.01.2022 Minecraft Education Edition:Indigenous Art Competition We recently held an Indigenous Art themed competition. Students designed their locally flavoured work on grid paper before building their design in the Minecraft in Education platform. The winners all recieved book prizes. Year 4 Connor Jones - River and Sunset, Year 5 Miley Argent - Snake, Year 6 Jasper Hill - Windy Tree.

11.01.2022 Yesterday Head Boy Jasper Hill and Head Girl Miela Friesen represented our school at the 79th wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the loss of 645 sailors and airmen serving in HMAS SYDNEY II on 19 November 1941.

09.01.2022 Official NAIDOC celebrations take place this week 8 - 15 November. To fit in with our school timetable Mount Tarcoola Primary we will be celebrating NAIDOC DAY next Wednesday 18th November. We have planned a whole day of activities for our students including an Assembly that starts at 10:00 am. Parents welcome to attend.
