24.01.2022 Congratulations to these Old Scholars from the Class of 2016.

23.01.2022 We ask for your prayers in the wake of the sad news of the passing of Miss Virginia Jacobs. In 1981, Virginia joined the staff at Mount Carmel as a secondary teacher, having previously taught in a variety of schools on the mainland and overseas. During her 35 years at the College, Virginia taught in the Humanities and English departments, including HSC History, the subject she was most passionate about. Girls who were taught by Virginia remember her with great fondness and af...fection. Virginia genuinely cared about her students; she was gentle, compassionate and a good listener. She always greeted each girl with a smile and took the time to truly know her students. In the staff room, Virginia was a popular and well-respected colleague. A keen and experienced traveller, she often entertained the staff with stories of her latest adventures. Her admirable knowledge of politics, current affairs, history and the Royal family, added a special dimension. Most significantly, it was her outgoing, welcoming and approachable manner that staff will remember the most. Our deepest sympathies go out to Virginias family and close friends at this very sad time. Eternal rest grant unto Virginia, O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her. May Virginia and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen

19.01.2022 Dear Parents, Students, Staff, Alumnae and Friends of the Mount Carmel College community We ask for your prayers in the wake of the sad news this morning of the... passing of our greatly respected and loved colleague and friend, Ida Saracino. Ida was a highly valued and loyal member of the community whose love for her students was all encompassing and evident in all her interactions. Since February 1984, Ida weaved her magic with integrity and love. Her legacy, as she touched the lives of so many children, parents, grandparents and staff members will live on and be remembered. She epitomised the College motto Fortes in Fides and her courage and dignity was inspiring. She will be greatly missed by all. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon Ida. May Ida and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen Our deepest sympathies go out to Idas extended family and close friends at this very sad time.

05.01.2022 Can someone answer these questions: when were the three houses of Mount Carmel (Loreto, Lourdes and Carmel) established, who established them, and why were the three names chosen? We understand the Marian references, by why go with that instead of names of the founders? Any info greatly appreciated.
