13.01.2022 Picture this. From the top of Glendower Mountain, more than 1,000 metres above sea level in the magnificent New England Ranges, you and your sure-footed stockhorse are looking out on a panorama that has hardly changed in a century. You’ve travelled back in time on horseback. You’re mustering cattle the way it was done 100 years ago in these mountains, surrounded by soaring peaks, pushing the mob down rugged slopes, through deep valleys and across crystal streams. Droving wi...th Jillian and Steve Sullivan, your hosts and guides at Leconfield, is a unique experience. This is not your average horseback riding holiday, trail ride or tourist cattle drive. This is real mustering on a real working property. By the end of the muster you’ll be riding like a true blue stockman, and have learned techniques of Natural Horsemanship from Jillian, a renowned expert in the field. Natural Horsemanship, also known as Horse Whispering, is based on building mutual trust and understanding between horse and rider. You’ll be astounded by the things Jillian shows you, and you’ll amaze yourself to discover that you can do it too. From base camp, by the clear waters of Mulla Creek, you’ll ride out each morning for a day’s droving amid the natural beauty of the ranges. Each night, back at camp, there’ll be hearty meals around the campfire, hot showers, good company and, to quote the poet, ‘the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars’.
