25.01.2022 Today we held the first Prep Transition session for our 2021 class. Miss Mason took us on a Bear Hunt, showed the Preps through the classroom and, of course, they had their fruit time and finished by walking through the sensory garden. We couldn't go over it, we couldn't go under it, we had to go through it! Such fun!
24.01.2022 We’re looking forward to starting this project very soon. Thank you very much for your support Monbulk & District Community Bank Branch. We know our students will be very excited too!
23.01.2022 Year 9/10 Outdoor Education students have been making a Rogaining Course this term. Today they taught Primary students how to Rogaine, which is a team orienteering race. The team that gets the most points wins. Not only does this develop skills in navigation and map reading, it was also an opportunity to show leadership and form cooperative teams across year levels. Above all this, they had lots of fun learning. Well done to the winning team!
20.01.2022 We have had a very busy Term at MDCS. Beginning with Prep Taster Sessions, School Assemblies, Secondary Expo, 100 Days of Prep celebration, Year 10 City Experience Camp, VCE Studio Art Gallery, Experience Year 7 Day, Math Games Day, Year 9/10 Transition Week, Parent Teacher Meetings and lots, lots more all virtually! Now it is time to rest. We hope you all have a very rest filled and joyful time with your families.
19.01.2022 It certainly has been a different type of schooling year for everyone, in particular for our Year 12's. Please keep them in your prayers as their units come to a close in the coming weeks, and as they begin to prepare for exams. Keep on going Year 12s! "The joy of the Lord is my strength!" Nehemiah 8:10
19.01.2022 Recently, as part of our transition program, MDCS held its Experience Year 7 Day. Students were able to begin connecting with their 2021 cohort. They participated in games, science experiments, met secondary staff and were introduced to what Year 7 looks like at MDCS. We are looking forward to meeting again.
17.01.2022 Welcome to Term 4 - onsite! It has been very challenging during remote learning but we have been so proud of all the students during this time. The sad news over the holidays was also difficult for many in our community so it was very helpful, and wonderful, to be back in person to reconnect. Students explored the Nature Trail, had class discussions, swung on the playground with friends, cared for the chickens, explored their creativeness in art and simply enjoyed learning together. It has been wonderful to reconnect with each other. We hope you enjoy this snapshot of our first week back together, in particular MDCS's Spoonsville.
15.01.2022 With less than four weeks left of Term 4, Joseph, Mary and Jesus are now sitting outside the school office. We are looking forward to celebrating His birth and the Hope that He brings. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." These were sculpted with a chainsaw! BK Carving

07.01.2022 We’re looking forward to getting this project started as soon as possible. Thanks Monbulk & District Community Bank Branch for your support. We’re also looking forward to working with students from Ranges TEC - RTO 22559!
05.01.2022 We are so thankful for our VCE students. We are praying for them as they begin their final VCAA Exams. Keep running the race, you are nearly there. As our student's parents could not join us on site for our Year 12s last day, we created these signs to acknowledge the partnership between home and school in an effort to help parents be part of the celebrations. If you see one of these signs, give a shout out to encourage these amazing students!
04.01.2022 It was time for some fun last Thursday with our Footy Fever Day. All students were encouraged to wear their footy team colours in anticipation of the two Grand Finals (AFL and NRL) on the weekend. Oh you could hear the roar of the MDCS crowd! Well done Tigers & Storm!
04.01.2022 Primary students celebrated Book Week this week focusing on 'Hello Lighthouse' by Sophie Blackall and "We're Stuck' by Sue DeGennaro. In their Art class they brought the stories to life by recreating scenes. So much detail and imagination as they put their art skills to work with a great result. We encourage you to ask your child how they enjoyed these stories. Well done Primary!
04.01.2022 "Everybody good to go?" Today we celebrated our Year 12s last day! This is a significant day in the life of MDCS and still was today, but it looked very different to previous years. Year 12 students coordinated a pyjama/onesie day making sure every class was able to celebrate in a Covid safe way. Mr Lock, Mr Beer and Mr Grace did an amazing job to ensure the assembly was able to be streamed live to the students families. Although our community was not able to attend as they usually would, we hope you can enjoy this snapshot of the day that was. Congratulations Year 12 graduates! "If there's no more questions, I'll see you tomorrow"
