21.01.2022 With Jennifer Wust Greetings my name is Jennifer. And I am a drum maker and creator. I am often asked "How did you come to make drums?" The short answer "Spirit told me" The longer answer is... That when I was 30 winters, I handed my life over to my Spirit Ones. I surrendered. No longer wanting to direct my life journey. I howled and prayed to the moons eclipse one cold and lonely night, and surrendered my life and my heart to my Spirit Ones. Even though I did not know th...em, nor had I seen them. I just knew and trusted that they were there. I handed over my free will, and tossed a coin. When ever I was offered a home, employment, anything at all. Leaving everything to fate and destiny. I followed with all my heart whatever the coin decided. In the months that followed, I had danced wildly to a women's drum group, sat in a women's drum circle and felt joy, passion and power. I was lent a clay drum to play, and I broke it. It rolled off my bed, onto the floor, and shattered. I took apart the lacing, glued her many pieces, reattached her skin and made her whole again. She still played well, and she still looked broken. So I decided that I needed to replace her. I sourced myself a short log of Jarrah, hollowed it out with hammer and chisel, weeks of tapping, hundreds of splinters later. Learning about the tree that I was shaping to be a drum. Sourced myself a calfskin, cut the lacing, and made my very first drum. And she was beautiful. Her song deep like the Earth. And I made another, and another. And by the time that year had past, I had made 5 log drums. I had seen my Spirit People, experienced a Sweat Lodge, and took myself on a Vision Quest. My vision quest was to be my greatest gift, I was given Bear. And my animal tribe came quickly after my Bear. They teach me,guide me, and provide me comfort so I never feel alone. They are with me always. I no longer toss a coin. I listen to the critters and smell the wind. And I still listen and ask for guidance, and I am always following and trusting in the Ancestors and the critters, to show me my way in the world. When I am asked, I follow, no question. I have been birthing Drums for more than 25 winters now. Each time, remembering my beginnings and my journey. Grateful for the blessings that have created my life. I am so grateful for the Beauty that is my life. I am Jennifer, Bear of the North and I birth Drums. See more

13.01.2022 This book is just incredible. A must for any one who is called to the Frame Drum.

09.01.2022 At the Goddess Conference last year, I had a beautiful meeting with Melaina Faranda And she met a RiverDrum. This is her story My RiverDrum's name is : Sweet Water, and she takes me on journeys filled with the flow of the rivers, lakes and streams. I carry her in a creamy bag emblazoned with a crescent moon and silver dragonfly. She's double skinned and to swirl her above another's crown is to transport them to beneath a waterfall where the salmons sleep,or deep inside a me...rmaid's cave. It's difficult to explain exactly what she means to me, only that she is no trinket or accessory- she has a soul, not only from the animals and trees that her body was formed from, but some other deep magic. I let no-one else play her- though I willingly share her harmonic resonance with others- there is a compact between me and this drum. I am not a musician and I am only just beginning to know the edges of her and feel humble about learning her deeper. She's part of my medicine and I am so grateful to Jennifer for lovingly fashioning her into being. If you are considering a drum of your own, Jennifer adds something extra into her RiverDrums that can not be replicated or mass produced. Her drums are filled with loving intention, passion for rhythm, animal medicine, forest goodness, realness, something deep from the earth, kissed by the river, blessed by her strong sun-loved hands, and nodded over by the mountains. It's not only the drum's song that calls you- it's her soul. Thank you Melaina for sharing your experience of Sweet Water If you are seeking something extra special in a drum, please message me here. Or check out Spirit Drums- Sacred Art on Facebook. Here you will find my drums, with beautiful Sacred Art by Jann James.

All drums are made with pine frames and various types of skins. This drum is made from thicker Red Deer skin (ethically sourced). Born during a thunderstorm with the sounds of the owl and the moon visible in the sky! The Art: Hand drawn and coloured by Ordained Priestess - Diasima, using colours of various shades of blue, green, purple, yellow and water proof black ink. Each image is a one off creation - Sacred Art - Using the pattern of the skin and channelled images through the Divine Feminine. At the top right hand tip of her wing, was a pattern, which was carried down with ink, around the owl and into a spiral. the waters of life. The moon is full and reflective of the water, as the owl lands, intent on quenching her thirst. Please see the video of her song. I sat in the pool and sang the water blessing song while I drummed her. She is soothing to the spirit. <3 Blessed be!
