Welcome to pop-in to purchase individual cakes - Its our pleasure to serve our castella cake( Honey sponge cake) as a sweet before enjoy thick matcha tea to a formal tea gathering yesterday. - Our Sponge cake, as known as the Japanese Castella was originated in Nagasaki, Japan. It was brought to Japan by Portuguese merchants in the 16th century. The traditional Castella contains only 3 ingredients which are flour, eggs, and sugar. During the ...Edo period, honey was added to the Castella as the replacement for the costly sugar, the sweetness remained and, furthermore, the flavour and the aroma of the cake has also been generally improved. - Eat your cake while it is still hot and fresh! That doesnt apply to our sponge cake! After 2 to 3 days of natural chilling is when the cake reaches its prime, the tastiest time. So, please let the cake chill for a day at least. Although the cake has a simple and ordinary appearance, it contains both complex flavour and soft texture. It has a well-balanced flavour of our home-made sake kasu and high-quality french butter. The natural sweetness of the sake kasu will gently come out as you start tasting a slice of the warm butter cake. What Is SAKE KASU?... sake kasu is the leftover product created during the sake brewing process. Sake kaus is comestible and it contains vitamins B, Protein, Sphingomyelin, which has whitening and beauty effects and contains resistant protein, dietary fibre and enzymes, which can excrete oil and improve constipation, prevent diabetes, and is beneficial to the body. Many Japanese people began to buy sake kasu for home use, blending them into Japanese soups to make dregs (for example, adding miso soup to make Kasu Jiru), making pickles, making face masks, and adding sugar in the sake kasu and warm it up to 60 degrees in the wintertime to make sweet sake.
