24.01.2022 What a difference a pandemic makes! Tonight would have been projection night of for our second mural festival, but now we wait until Nov 2021. The doors have started to go up, and we have some more wonderful art for locals and visitors alike to stroll and taken in. A few months of joy to keep the flame alive until November.
24.01.2022 A very cool piece by Mark Bennett from the ABC.
22.01.2022 In almost 2 weeks it will be a year since our Walldogs came and changed the way out little towns looks and some would say feels. I think we can all agree that Jay, Anat & Mike left as much of a mark on us, as their art did. What some may not know (unless you follow Jay Robert Allen) is that Jay journaled his whole trip. I thought this might be interesting reading whilst we wait for 2021 to come around, and bring back some fond memories for those involved. Sit back and enjoy chapter one...
15.01.2022 CREATIVE DOORS CELEBRATION It’s almost time to drop your doors back . We have quite a few registration forms that are missing information or signatures. ... Please make sure when you drop off your door that you check your registration has been completed. Without the forms being completed and signed, we are unable to display your door. Happy creating everyone!!
09.01.2022 There’s been a lot happening this week in town! It’s great to see the opening of the Mt Barker Aboriginal Community Centre after being delayed by COVID. The MBACC served as the eating hub for last years Mountains & Murals. Well done to everyone involved
04.01.2022 If you haven’t got your door back yet, don’t worry! We will be putting them up over the course of this week & next, so you can drop your doors back up until Sunday (29/11). This is going to be an amazing art trail through town.
01.01.2022 Just a reminder to our sponsors, partners, artists and volunteers that due to the pandemic, Mountains and Murals has been pushed back to Thursday 25th November 2021. We know it’s a long wait, but our Walldog guests are committed and currently completing their designs in preparation. With our current murals, the new private mural commissioned by George and Sue Corke and the Creative Doors Celebrations, there’s a visual feast for tourists and visitors alike until Jay Allen, Anat Ronen, Joy Hernandez-Butler, Elaine Wallis, Noella Cotnam, Mike McEvers and Dan Luckin arrive down under. We appreciate your patience but the wait will be worth it.
