13.01.2022 Just an update on the current restrictions for all tourism accommodation providers in regional Victoria as per Business Victoria and Victorian chamber commerce for industry. 1- No sharing of rooms unless from the same household. This is slated to be lifted on 22/11/2020. Until then you can't share a room with someone that is not from your household. Until this is 100% definately confirmed to be lifted. You will be required to book separate rooms. 2- No group bookings ...- this will be eased on 22/11/2020 but still will have restrictions. Until the industry specific guidelines are updated we won't be able to accept any group bookings as per the current guidelines. 3- No changes to all the other current restrictions that are well known ie, facemasks, social distancing, sanitiser and getting all guests in the booking to signin for contact tracing We have been taking lots of calls with groups and tours trying to book in for future dates, but unfortunately, for the time being until we know what the guidelines are we have been taking their details and will call them back when we know where we stand. We don't feel it's fair for you or us if we take your booking "In the hope" the restrictions get lifted, because we all know that sometimes they don't go ahead with everything they say and it just ends up with both you and us dissappointed. We appreciate your understanding, but we do need to comply with, essentially, the law. Thanks

12.01.2022 Riley’s Ride Do you know what it is or it’s history? The Riley’s ride is a step back in history. An event that follows the path of Jack Riley’s last ride fro...m the mountain high country into the local town of Corryong on horse back. The ride is held annually and commemorates Jack Riley’s life, the part he played in the early days of this district and to laud the efforts of those who selflessly sought to rescue him under hard and trying conditions when he fell ill on Tom Groggin Station in 1914. If you are wondering who is Jack Riley? Here’s some little facts to get you started on the history trail of Jack Riley. Jack was a overseer at Tom Groggin Station - a high country mountain run owned by John Pierce. Legend has it that in the mid-1800s, Riley joined a party of mountain stockmen who were attempting to recapture a thoroughbred stallion which had escaped and was running with a mob of wild horses near Mount Leatherhead. A stockyard was built on a creek at the foot of Leatherhead and the mob was located, as Riley had predicted, on a high ridge. Upon meeting Jack Riley on a camping trip into the mountains Banjo Paterson spent a entertaining night with Riley at Tom Groggin hearing these tales around the camp fire. Some say Riley is who Patersons poem ‘The Man From Snowy River’ originated from. Either way he became a local legend to the Upper Murray area and is celebrated to this day 106 years later. His legacy and the legacy of the mountain men are honoured and respected as the men and women that take part in this ride every year feel they are riding along the trail of history with these men. 11.01.2022 COVID UPDATE Due to the COVID regulations its sad to say that we are unable to have any on-course entertainment this year. This includes:- Fashions on the ...Field and the jumping castle for the kids. While this is disappointing, it certainly won't detract from us celebrating 150 years of racing.

10.01.2022 We wish to advise that due to COVID restrictions there will not be any stand-alone general admissions available this year. All ticket sales must be part of a pa...ckage arrangement that includes dedicated seating. While the first release of marquee and umbrella packages have SOLD OUT, there are still some tickets available for the All-inclusive 'Off the Bench Marquee'. Depending on our allowable crowd numbers we plan to release some further package options in February. Stay tuned for details.

04.01.2022 Well this is a first. Found a nice big.. how do I say this.. pile of excrement in front of a room this morning. Thought maybe a stray dog came onto the property, so went through the security footage and to our surprise we caught the culprit!!! We must admit we had a good laugh, hope you do to!! And for those playing at home - at 50 seconds is the time of the crime! Please don't forget we are surrounded by farm land and you can expect visits from cows, insects, turtles, kangaroos, deer and wombats!

03.01.2022 Deep underground! Here is the access tunnel to Tumut 2 Power Station, which sits 244m underground. The access tunnel is 2km long and leads to the Tumut 2 Machine Hall. It’s about the size of a football field. #hydropower #snowyscheme #tunnels #underground
