23.01.2022 RUOK Day: Every day is the day to ask, "Are you okay?"

22.01.2022 Today we extend to the Missionary Franciscan Sisters every blessing for their Feast Day - the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We pray that they continue to be nourished by their faith and charism and, in turn, enrich all who are custodians of their legacy. Let us pray: Mary, mother of Jesus, we look to your life of faith and draw inspiration from you. The witness of your life readies us to be people of immeasurable love, to give ourselves whol...eheartedly to a life of ongoing transformation. How grateful we are to have you as an exemplar of how to strengthen faith and deepen union with the Holy One. Amen. (Extract from 'Litany of Mary' in Prayer Seeds by Joyce Rupp. Image: Mary (2001) by Julie Dowling inspired by Murillo Esteban Bartoleme’s The Esquilache Immaculate Conception.)

22.01.2022 Congratulations and well wishes to Chloe Buglar (Mt A Class of 2016). Chloe has represented Australia in ice skating since 2014, with two world championships and numerous international competitions under her belt. She has nearly finished her Bachelor studies (marketing) but had deferred this year due to an invitation to skate in Canada on its world championship Nexxice synchronised ice skating team. COVID interrupted play and delayed Chloe leaving; however, she now has the official exemption to travel and will head to Canada for two years on 27 September. Go well, Chloe!

22.01.2022 Let us give thanks for the love of all mothers, carers, aunts, and strong women in our lives. God with a mother’s heart, you gather us as your children. You comfort and hold us in your warm embrace. When we hurt, your arms enfold us. ... When we are afraid, your wings protect us. When we are hungry, you feed us with the bread of life. God with a mother’s heart, Your love surrounds and supports us, In good times and in bad, In the midst of joy and pain, Always and everywhere. You will never leave nor abandon us. God eternal and loving one, God with a mother’s heart, We thank you for courageous women. May we embody in our lives their faith, hope, and love. Amen. See more

18.01.2022 Congratulations to our 2020 Seniors on their outstanding Year 12 results - the most impressive in our College's recent history. We are very proud of their achievements, with 100% of students achieving their QCE and 39% of students receiving an ATAR of 90 or above. We particularly congratulate our two highest achievers who attained ATARs above 99 (the equivalent of OP 1). We also acknowledge the students who additionally completed ASQA qualifications 42 Certificate IIs, 77 C...ertificate IIIs and 2 Certificate IVs. While this year has been challenging, it has also been a year of tremendous accomplishment and growth. We congratulate most sincerely the Seniors of 2020 and thank them for their dedication to their studies. We also take this opportunity to thank the staff for their work in supporting these students, and the parents for their ongoing support in partnering with the College, to ensure success.

17.01.2022 On Tuesday 4 May, we will be holding Yellow Day, along with Padua, Molly’s House (child care centre), and Delamore Retirement Village. Our aim is to raise awareness of childhood cancer and, in doing so, support fellow Mt A student Megan Reid’s RedKite fundraiser. Students will be handed yellow wristbands with Megan’s hashtag (#teammeganstrong) at assembly this week, which they may wear for the remainder of the term. On the day, students may wear yellow with no cost; however, there will be ribbons and face paint in the Undercroft, and baked goods, lollies, scrunchies, and more available to purchase in Francis Court. Payment by card is preferred, but we will accept cash where necessary. We hope you can support this fantastic cause! https://fundraise.redkite.org.au//mountalverniaco/your-way

14.01.2022 On World Environment Day, we pray: Creator God, we thank you for the gift of life which you lovingly wove into being. We confess we have not cared for your creation. Your world grows hotter, hungrier, and sicker, and the people and planet cry out for hope. In your love, Lord, we answer for we know that things can change.... Give us courage to care for all communities and species suering from environmental harm. Bless all who labour for an integral ecology, that they might inspire others to discover your face in our world. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen. See more
