23.01.2022 We are back and scanning at Mount Analogue for 2020, after a year end Tokyo sojourn. Rewinding the first job of the year (400ft of 16mm colour neg) to the sounds of Gainsbourg’s Anna soundtrack. As you do.

22.01.2022 The name Mount Analogue is lifted from the metaphysical novel of the same name by René Daumal. The book, subtitled A Tale of Non-Euclidian and Symbolically Authentic Mountaineering Adventures was published posthumously in 1952. Although essentially unfinished it is considered Daumal’s crowning achievement as both author and philosopher. It is perhaps of no small consequence that Daumal’s proceeding novel was titled A Night of Serious Drinking. There is an art to finding your way in the lower regions by the memory of what you have seen when you were higher up. When you can no longer see, you can at least still know. We offer frame-by-frame scanning for Super 8, 8mm and 16mm film at 2k resolution, which is perfect for true HD delivery. Output is available as an uncompressed image sequence, ProRes 422 HD or most other formats. We are dedicated to exploring the interface between analogue and digital technology and are especially interested in working with artists to help them realise their projects.
