25.01.2022 Dear Parents and Caregivers, A friendly reminder that paper based learning resources will be available for collection this Friday 7th August between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The protocols will be as follows: *Learning materials will be in the school gymnasium. *There will be an entry and an exit point. *Face coverings must be worn.... *Social distancing must be maintained. *Hand sanitiser will be available. 24.01.2022 Hello Fabulous Families, Just a couple of reminders: *Remote and flexible learning commences today. *This is a transition week, with minimal work and a focus on the technical side of implementation. *Today we are endeavouring to support all families and students to access Google Classrooms. ... *Instructions on how to access Google Classrooms were emailed last night. *On Thursday and Friday we will be endeavouring to support families and each student to connect to a Webex Meetings video conference. I appreciate that there will be technical challenges and frustrations for many. That is why we have implemented a few days of technical support and trial. 20.01.2022 Welcome Rebecca and Ken Hello Everyone, We would like to introduce ourselves, we are we are Rebecca Russell and Ken Evans and we are artists who live in Clunes. We often create large theatre performances outdoors and we have also worked a lot with children and families creating all sorts of projects including short films, theatre performances and creatures made out of clay. During second and third terms we will be at your school to work with you all on art projects. We wil...l begin working with students and teachers soon and we can’t wait to hear what ideas the children have. We want to include parents in our projects too and will be running sessions after school. 19.01.2022 Bathed in sunshine, the annual athletics day was a huge success. All the children competed to the best of their ability, supported each other and ensured a day of fun for all. Thank you to the staff and parent volunteers for helping make the day such a success!

10.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, Tomorrow the staff and I will continue to work towards developing the remote learning program for MBPS. With short notice and only a day to prepare, this provides some challenges. However, we will get there together! There will be some changes from your previous experience. One of them being increased opportunities for live lessons and classroom meetings through Department recommended and approved video conferencing software. This will increase stude...nt interaction and connectedness, and teacher and student interaction and connectedness on a weekly basis. More details will be emailed tomorrow. 07.01.2022 Artists in Residence Creative Workers in Schools (CWS) provides the opportunity for 150 creative industry workers to undertake a six-month residency in Victorian government schools. Creative workers and Schools will be supported to work together to codesign and deliver an educationally valuable project or set of activities that supports learning across the Victorian Curriculum F10 over 6 months. The CWS program is delivered by Regional Arts Victoria (RAV), in partnership wit...h Department of Education and Training (DET), and Creative Victoria through the support of the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria (WFV) initiative. Following an application for the Creative Workers and Victorian Government Schools opportunity, I am thrilled to formally announce that Mount Blowhard Primary School is one of 150 schools, from over 500 applications, who will support artists and benefit from the initiative!

05.01.2022 As we approach the end of our first full week of remote and flexible learning I just wanted to say well done staff, students and families. An amazing effort in a short space of time! All classes are on Google Classrooms and participating in WebEx class meetings and real time lessons. I witnessed first hand all the Foundation students completing their live spelling session on Wednesday, and teachers and students in other classes connection through Google Classrooms.

05.01.2022 Spelling was in full swing across the school prior to remote and flexible learning, with Multisensory Structured Literacy (MSL) in the junior classes and Spelling Mastery in the senior class ensuring explicit and direct instruction.

04.01.2022 First trial of WebEx Meetings video conferencing in the senior classes today. Many children were able to connect with their classroom teacher and peers. We also have many children from F-6 accessing Google Classroom. Well-done families, children and staff.

04.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, Last night schools in regional areas received a positive update related to onsite learning arrangements for next term. As a result, all classes at MBPS will now return to onsite learning on Monday 5th October. We look forward to having all children onsite for the commencement of next term!... 03.01.2022 This morning we hosted a Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for those impacted by cancer. As it is 'Education Week', we also took the opportunity to celebrate the amazing learning that happens at MBPS and had many parents and families in the classrooms. Thank you to everyone who attended and Miss McPherson and Parents and Friends for all your work ensuring another successful event at MBPS!

02.01.2022 Dear Parents and Caregivers, I can confirm that Monday 3rd August will be a ‘normal’ school day for all children across the state of Victoria. Tuesday 4th August will be a Curriculum Day across the state to prepare for remote learning, especially for schools in regional and remote areas. 02.01.2022 Our P-3 students have been loving their swimming program! It has been so lovely doing lessons at the Eureka Pool this year with such nice weather If possible, it would be great if students could bring a pair of thongs/slide on sandals to wear to the pool - this helps to avoid students trying to put socks and shoes on wet feet!
