11.01.2022 The Mount Gambier SA Country Fire Service Group Operations Base supported more than 220 incidents in 2019, while the Mount Gambier and District SES is one of th...e busiest regional SA State Emergency Service units. I know the Mount Gambier community has enormous respect and appreciation for their local volunteers and it was a pleasure to thank them today

10.01.2022 Last night we celebrated Tom Poel receiving a medal for over 35 years of service within the SASES. Tom joined Mount Gambier Districts SES nearly 38 years ago, contributing a huge amount over this time, in many roles and is so very appreciated by all at our unit. Last night also came with a change in Unit Managers, acknowledging the amazing work, leadership and contribution Simon Poel has made in his 17 years in his role. Simon has been a strong voice for the unit, displayed leadership qualities and a passion for SES in our community which we all admire. Thank you for the unmeasurable hours and all you have done for us, SASES and the community as Unit Manager! Congratulations to Matt Tye on your new role as Unit Manager.

10.01.2022 It is with great sadness the Mount Gambier SES Unit says goodbye to one of our long serving rescue vehicles. After 20 years of service with the Mount Gambier and District State Emergency Service and the community it is now time to retire. the Isuzu FRR550 was built in August 2000 and then sent to a local South Australian engineering company to have the back purpose built for the local SES unit. The Mount Gambier Unit took delivery of the Truck in early 2001 and has been a ma...jor asset to not just the unit and its members but also to the community. In its 20 years it has done just over 56000 kms and unknow hours carrying crew members to thousands of incidents from Road Crash Rescues, storms and floods, Rescue from heights and also public displays. in November 2020 the Mount Gambier Unit took possession of their new Isuzu rescue truck. this truck has been fitted out with new rescue equipment and tools with some items being purchased through our local fundraising. the Mount Gambier SES would like to thank you all for your support in helpings us achieve this goal. See more

09.01.2022 Good luck to the Mount Gambier SES crew competing in this weekend's state rescue competition being held at Woodhouse Scout activity centre.
