25.01.2022 On Saturday MGDG held their November random format day. We had a different rule for each hole. Some of these rules included; driving with your non dominant hand, throwing an overhead shot, putting with you eyes closed, throwing a roller as a tee shot and a forehand only hole. It was played in a best shot doubles format. The day was won by the team of Alex Costales and Justin Clarke with Chad Chewter winning closest to the basket. Thank you to Allstars Pizza and Chicken Boss for coming on board as prize sponsors.

25.01.2022 As we inch ever closer to the return of Disc Golf competitions in South Australia we look back to before the most recent lockdown put a halt to proceedings, when 9 teams constituting of 3-4 students per team, represented several schools from across the region to fight it out playing 18 holes of the Crater Lakes Disc Golf Park in the annual South East Zone Disc Golf School Challenge. It was great to have Allendale East Area School partaking for the first time and fantastic to ...see multiple teams representing for Penola High School. Last year’s and inaugural winning school St Martins Lutheran College were unfortunately unable to enter any teams this year which meant a new school would see its name etched onto the Shield for the first time. Teams from both Grant & Mt Gambier High Schools presented as the early favourites and when the dust had settled and the final scores tallied the Mount Gambier High (Aqua) team sealed the victory with an incredible 2 under Par 59 four shots clear of Grant High (green). Over all, every team put in a fantastic effort while having great fun in the process. This annual event looks to only grow and expand further in future years with the hope to see more teams & more schools come together for some fun & healthy competition. Full Results: 1st. Mount High (aqua) 59 2nd. Grant High (green) 63 3rd. Mount High (white) 70 Mount High (blue) 71 Grant High (gold) 73 Penola (green) 74 Allendale 84 Penola (black) 85 Penola (orange) 93

23.01.2022 We have a new leader in the most awesome state competition. South Australia have got the numbers, both overall and in the amount of registrations per head of po...pulation. In the entirely separate 'Registrations per head in an Australian sovereign province' competition - The ACT is dominating, but with with the South Aussies starting to give them a decent run too. ACT is also streeting the field in the Australian Territories competition.

08.01.2022 Notice to all entrants and potential interested players for this weeks Aussie Disc Golf Day Due to the current ongoing COVID situation we will have to postpone this weekend's event. This is an unfortunate situation and a reflection of the current uncertain times we all face. MGDG is in discussions with Australian Disc Golf with our options at holding the national component of the day at a later date. If you have already paid for the event and you wish to be reimbursed please contact the club via [email protected] otherwise we will retain payment until the situation is clarified. We thank you all in advance for your patience while the degree of this outbreak is determined and hopefully we will be soon back on the course in full competition. Regards Mat and MGDG committee

08.01.2022 This November 21st brings to us the first ever Aussie Disc Golf Day. Several States and a multitude of disc golfing communities across Australia will hit their local courses uniting for a nationwide virtual tournament while both Mount Gambier and Adelaide clubs look on from behind a curtain of Covid-19 restrictions. The South Australian disc golfing family wish their fellow disc golfers all over the country the very best of luck on this day while waiting in anticipation to h...ave their turn on any given weekend during the next three weeks should restrictions lift and approvals occur before the December 13th cut off. We encourage players to still register using the below link in spite of a final date/approval to yet be confirmed. It will be easier for Tournament organisers to cull registrations due to unavailability after the final dates are locked in rather than waiting and finalising registrations last minute. We will continue to update everyone on this progress and cross our fingers that we will get to play our part in this amazing event. https://www.australiandiscgolf.com/ev/register_generic.php See more
