17.01.2022 Dear Valued Sponsors, Competitors, Supporters & Volunteers Mount Isa Rodeo Series would like to wrap up the year by thanking our Sponsors, Competitors, Supporters & Volunteers. We would like to thank all our competitors for supporting our events throughout 2019. We would like to congratulate all of the winners and placegetters at the finals and throughout the year. Congratulations also to our series champions. A big thank you also to our volunteers who have helped throughou...t the year; from the people behind the chutes to our judges and time keepers. Without these people our events wouldn’t happen. Thank you to our stock contractors especially Marcus & Shelley Curr and Jamie & Helen Hacon who have always supplied stock to our finals rodeo at no cost and this year also thank you to Marcus and Shelley for supplying bulls for our junior bull riding school. Would also like to thank Donovan Rutherfurd for also supplying bulls at our junior bull riding school at no cost and helping out at this event. Thank you to the Mount Isa Rodeo Series committee & the people on the committee that have put in a huge effort all year long to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Once membership form is received a reply email will be sent with bank details. ## NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND ##... > All MIRS members must also be a member of Rodeo services Australia (membership forms available on RSA website) this can be in the form of Full yearly membership or Day membership. > All junior members who are competing in open events must be a open member of Rodeo Services Australia. (either full open member or open day member) > A NRCA waiver must be completed on the first MIRS event for the year that you attend this will cover you for the whole 2020 season. TO ALL COMPETITORS AND CONTRACTORS . A tutorial/clinic/competitor information session will be conducted in the coming months. this will entail responsibilities as a competitor, competition and animal welfare. 07.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE - for the first MIRS event of the 2020 season! The first rodeo of the year is scheduled for Saturday 4 April and Sunday 5 April at the Mount Isa Campdraft Grounds. The event will run over 2 days and overnight camping is available.... More info on times, event schedule and nominations will follow soon. Watch this space!

01.01.2022 BARREL RACING RE:RULINGS & DISCUSSIONS Australian Rodeo Federation Ruling 5.26 There must, without exception, be only one competitor horse in the arena at any time during the barrel race -In the instance your horse needs assistance to enter the arena another horse and rider are permitted to assist. ... -The assistant rider must be out of the arena before the competitors run commences. -The 30 second time limit to start your run commences when the competitor enters the arena. - In the event that your horse needs assistance by someone on foot assistant cannot interfere with the horse or rider eg: hold, touch. -Assistant must immediately leave the arena before run commences. - In the instance that a second horse is in the arena once run has commenced instant disqualification will occur. 5.27 Officials shall take all due care to ensure the arena gate is closed after the competitor enters the arena to take her run. The gate shall remain closed until the competitor has finished her run and is ready to leave. It is the Arena Directors responsibility to ensure that the gate is closed. In the event of a controlled, manned, and approved start finish alley, competitors may have a running start. (as there is no approved alley way at the Mt Isa Campdraft grounds competitor must enter the arena at a walk) 5.31 Disqualifications c. the competitor not having total control of the horse f. if a horse refuses to enter the arena after three (3) attempts i. starting from outside the competition area It is a recommendation to all competitors that you read the Australia Rodeo Federation Rule Book.
