13.01.2022 Let's talk about the Pool, which is also 80 years old. EDITED to all that this is not a public pool, we are on private property, the pool is for the use of Sco...uts and organised youth groups who hire the property only. Please don't come up hoping for a swim :) From the Memoirs of David Walsh. 'The area selected to build the pool was at the head of a steep gully, through which ran a non perennial creek, across the head of this gully an area large enough to contain the pool was excavated. The concrete foundation and the walls were built by workers from the Construction Department of the Steel Works and the high quality of their construction speaks for itself' The pool was basically built on a geologically unstable creek bed and the amount of movement after 80 years is so slight there hasn't been need for any major structual repairs. A pool with the most amazing view of the Mt Keira Summit still visible. Swimming alongside a rainforest, there is nothing quite like it

10.01.2022 This 'Six Daughters of the West Wind’ sculpture can be seen along the short 15min loop walk from the lookout at Mt Keira Summit Park. This artwork represents t...he local Aboriginal story of Oolaboolawoo and how Mt Keira and the five islands off our coast were created. You'll find it at the south-facing lookout, behind the picnic area. A collaboration between artists: Alison Page, Tina Lee, Lorraine Browne, Ali Day, Bonny Foley-Brennan, Debbie Hamstead-Callaghan, Val Law, Lila Lawrence, Jodie Stewart, Phyllis Stewart and Narelle Thomas. You can also visit @WollongongArtGallery to view the works of local talented artists at the Coomaditchie - Keeping Culture Alive exhibition. Always Was, Always Will Be #NAIDOC2020
09.01.2022 Some of our Indigenous sacred places contain artworks that are 5000 years old. You can't even get that in a musuem! History is amazing! #YourPastisYourPresent #YesterdayStories #FNPW
