25.01.2022 The Gladstone Aquatic Centre team are sad to say goodbye to Kristy Brewer who has fulfilled the role as Swim School Manager for quite some time. Kristy has decided to take on another career outside of BlueFit and we would like to wish her well on her new endeavour. Thank you for everything you have done Kristy and for the support you have shown the staff. Learn to swim families will miss you as will we. Good luck and we will be sure to see you around!

23.01.2022 SPLASH ZONE BOOKING The Splash Zone Waterpark will be closed between 9am - 10:30am on December 4th, 2020 for a private event. General Public may use the splash zone again from 10:30am - 5:00pm.... We apologise for any inconveniences.

22.01.2022 Gladstone Regional Council and the team at Gladstone Aquatic Centre have been working towards finalising a date to shut down the Gladstone Aquatic Centre over a 7 day period for the electrical and distribution board upgrades. We have come to a confirmed date that we will be closed between December Monday 7th through to the 14th December. Learn To Swim families will not be charged for this week, there is no need for you to do anything. We are excited to re-open our facility with our final upgrades for the Gladstone facility. We apologise for any inconveniences and thank you for your patience.

21.01.2022 Gladstone Aquatic Centre would like to welcome Bethany Hackfath to the Team! Bethany is an already an employee of BlueFit but she was based at another location before deciding to take on her new role here with us as our Swim School Manager A lot of the team are already familiar with Bethany’s glowing personality and we are very excited to be working alongside her. 21.01.2022 The works have begun! The 50m pool will be closed from Monday 24th August till 15th October for some impressive upgrades. The following are the current works that are about to happen: Replacement of broken tiles Removal of deep end dive blocks and hob and installation of FINA approved dive blocks.... Core drilling and assessment of the structural integrity of the 50m pool. We are excited for what's to come!

14.01.2022 Extended Weekend Opening Hours When we re-open our facility on Monday, December 14th, we will have extended weekend opening hours. Our facility will operate between the following: Monday - Friday: 5:30am - 7:30pm... Saturday - Sunday: 7:00am - 5:00pm We look forward to seeing you soon!

14.01.2022 Reach Rescue A reach rescue can be done by all of us and we can use any household or garden item to assist! 1. Rescuer lays down on the pool edge and reaches out with an object... 2. Rescuer encourages the swimmer and tells them to hold on 3. Rescuer slowly pulls the swimmer to the wall 4. A rescuer makes sure the swimmer is safe and asks them to climb out Always yell out for adult help! Never go in the water to rescue a friend.

12.01.2022 Gladstone aquatic centre hosted its first school carnival of summer 2020 and even though it was small it went off with a bang. Thank you to all the teachers and students for allowing us to host your event. It was brilliant to see the kids having a bit of extra fun at the end of their races.

Thanks again to Tish, Ruby and all the instructors for your hard work and commitment to the program this far. 08.01.2022 This winter warmer is super easy to cook and is great if you are on a budget! Ingredients: 2 tbsp avocado or olive oil 2 onions, diced... 1 carrot, chopped tsp dried thyme tsp dried marjoram 3 cups of vegetable or chicken stock 1 cup lentils (rinsed and drained) 1 pinch salt cup fresh parsley 1 16-ounce can tomatoes Optional: crumbled goat cheese Method: 1) Heat the oil in a large soup pot and sauté the onions and carrot for 3 to 5 minutes, until they are softened. Add dried herbs and sauté 1 minute. 2) Add stock, lentils, salt, parsley, and tomatoes and cook, covered, until lentils are tender, about 45 minutes. 3) When it’s done, place in bowls and serve. Optional: when serving, put 2 tablespoons of goat cheese each in each bowl before adding the soup for a creamier version.

01.01.2022 Superhero Safety Week starts Monday 16th November! Safety Week is upon us, and this year BlueFit Swimming are asking students to come dressed up as their favourite Superhero! This week is an important initiative that takes place during your regular swimming lessons. Within the lesson there will be a focus on water safety skills such as floating, survival sequences, treading water, survival strokes and basic rescue techniques ... We will also be giving out prizes for the best-dressed students! We look forward to seeing our little superheroes!
