25.01.2022 AN INVITATION FOR ALL To a joint meeting with New Town High School Association to discuss the Hobart City Partner Schools consultation and model forming process.... New Town High, on Tuesday the 15th of September at 7pm We are being given a great opportunity to express our thoughts about what shape we'd like to see High School education at Ogilvie and New Town take. We are being asked our thoughts on questions like these: What do you want it to look like? How does it relate to our earlier conversations around a dream school? Is it still all girls here and boys at New Town? Co-Ed for some subjects or Co-Ed across all subjects? We want to represent Ogilvie High's diversity of needs and hopes, to do that we need your voices. We hope to see you there. Miranda Shepheard, School Association Chair. [email protected]

Did you know that climate change is affecting animal habitats! Did you know that climate change is affecting our bushlands a...s fires are becoming more common and destructive?! Did you know that a 15-year-old girl inspired millions of kids to make changes in their communities? You are old enough to save the planet! If you want to make a difference you can make some posters and join us on the greens after recess on the last day of school. If you would like more information you can go to schoolstrike4climate.com. This is YOUR chance to make a difference. There is no planet B. Much appreciated! From the Mount Stuart PS SRC

10.01.2022 All Hands on Deck is a programme for Grades1-2 where students participate in small focussed reading groups with an adult once a week. Groups focus on reading skills specific to their reading level and enjoy reading fiction and non - fiction texts on various topics. Students develop confidence in reading, learn new strategies for decoding unfamiliar words, build their fluency when reading aloud and practise comprehension and retelling skills. They develop new friendships wi...th students from different classes as well as relationships with with different teachers and adults across our school. As the name implies it is all hands on deck during this session, with even our School Business Manager taking on a role as reading group leader! In 2020 we extended this programme to include our Prep students for the first time which was very exciting. Many thanks to Mrs King for initiating and nurturing this programme. Your innovative thinking helps to support all our Early Childhood learners to become confident readers.
