23.01.2022 Debating News Our Premier's Debating Challenge Zone Champions, Year 7, have had another win, edging closer to the final rounds of the statewide competition. The topic of yesterday's debate was "That we should ban zoos", with Year 7's affirmative arguments putting them in a stronger position against Erina High School. It was our rebuttal that pushed the team across the line, in what was described by the adjudicator as a debate of "very high quality". Watch this space for details on Year 7's next debate. 20.01.2022 The Grapes make it three tournaments in a row undefeated! Continuing on from the unbeaten under 13’s boys and 16’s girls, today the under 14’s girls kept the undefeated streak alive. Due to COVID restrictions there was no opportunity to play finals football or progress to a second round of competition. Finishing the day first in our pool has left the girls eager for next year where they’ll get the opportunity to compete against the best of the best and hopefully represent the... Newcastle and hunter region on a larger platform. The majority of the under 14’s girls squad have been training hard since Term 1 and have been aching for an opportunity to showcase their skills and sink their teeth into some footy. With Mr Bragato’s exceptional recruitment skills, he was able to persuade a few first timers to try their hand at the game, which resulted in the largest squad Mount View has fielded at a CHS competition. From our most experienced girls who play weekend rugby league right through to our newcomers, all athletes aimed up today and executed their roles with precision and confidence. With too many exceptional individual performances to mention, the whole team is to be congratulated today. The football form across the board at Mount View High School in 2020 has been the greatest ever. At no time in our past has so many Mount View teams in all ages and genders dominated as much as they are currently. Very exciting times ahead as our footballers build momentum and confidence moving into 2021 fixtures. Our attention now shifts to the under 14’s boys rugby league who compete next Tuesday (01/12/20) in their CHS event. Let’s wish them luck and hope to continue our unbeaten form. See more

10.01.2022 Tomorrow is Orientation Day for Year 7 2021. Parent's are requested to use the basin carpark to drop off children who can then use the pedestrian crossing to access Mount View High School. Parents are also asked to use the basin car park to collect their children at the end of the orientation at 11am. Staff will be on duty to assist and supervise students as they enter and exit Mount View High School.

04.01.2022 The Grapes undefeated form continues! Carrying on from the unbeaten under 13’s boys rugby league team a fortnight ago, the under 16’s girls blitzed the competition today finishing on top of their pool. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions the CHS rugby league this year did not include finals, therefore were unable to compete against Hunter Sports High who came first in their respective pool. Based off for-and-against, the Grapes ended the day in second place, which deserv...es a massive congratulations! With a team featuring some very experienced players, right through to first-gamers, all players today executed their roles delivering a very polished performance. Coaches Mr Bragato and Mr Cooke are extremely proud of the girls efforts today and indeed all year. With too many exceptional individual performances to mention, the whole team is to be congratulated today.
