08.01.2022 This month we raise awareness for Shocktober and the important role Defibrilators play in saving the lives of those suffering cardiac arrest. If defibrillated within the first minute of collapse, a victim's chances for survival are close to 90 percent. For every minute that defibrillation is delayed, survival decreases by 7 to 10 percent. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, the chance of survival in adults is less than 5 percent. 03.01.2022 As we enter the warmer months it's important to be aware of Sun Safety, and the ways you can protect yourself from sun damage. The sun produces ultraviolet rays (UV), which cause sunburn and are the main cause of skin cancer in Australia. UV rays can also cause premature ageing and eye damage due to overexposure without protection. During the summer make sure to check the UV Ratings each day to know when to apply sunsceen, and what level of SPF protection to use. Sun protecti...on is recommended when the UV rating is 3 or higher!
