20.01.2022 Congratulations to our P&C who have been successful in their application for a Community Building Partnerships grant. Our school has received a whopping $55 000 to contribute to the upgrade of our basketball and netball courts. This is much needed and will be greatly appreciated and enjoyed by our students, staff and community. Thank you to Chantel for all her time and effort in writing the grant application. The hard work has paid off! We look forward to welcoming Anna Watson MP, state member for Shellharbour, to our school in the coming weeks and to thank the NSW Government.

18.01.2022 Student Representative Council Report In the Student Representative Council (SRC) we have been talking about fundraising ideas for Term 3 and Term 4 and some ideas we have thought of are discos, sunflower seed planting and talent quests, just to start. The money from the fundraising events will all be donated to the i98FM Illawarra Convoy as well as in-school activities for next year and other upcoming projects.... This notice is to let all our parents and guardians know that there will be a lot of fundraising in the coming weeks! To start we will have Year 6 students selling socks at both front and back gates before school which students will be able to purchase. 14.01.2022 The Department of Education has released updated guidelines relating to COVID-19. The main changes are as follows: * Any staff member or student who has cold/flu symptoms (regardless of how mild) will not be permitted to return to school/work until they can demonstrate a negative COVID-19 test result; * Students are to stay within their cohort group (class, year group or stage) for all learning and extra-curricular activities, including sports and arts and physical activitie...s; * Additional limitations to interschool activities, including debating and sports organised or sponsored by the school; * Group singing/chanting and playing of wind instruments in groups are no longer allowed; * Professional learning for staff must be conducted utilising technology; * Self isolation required for any students or staff returning from travel in Victoria. * Parents and 'unessential' adults are still required to remain off site. These changes will be strictly adhered to from Wednesday 19 August with most practices coming into effect immediately.

11.01.2022 FATHER'S DAY STALL - OPEN THIS WEEK!!! The Father's Day Stall will be on this Thursday, 3rd September. All gifts are still a low $5 per gift. The Mon-Tue preschool/EIU students will be able to purchase a gift on Tuesday, 1st September. We will also open on Friday for any child that may have missed out, stock permitting.... Due to the current COVID-19 guidelines, as communicated by the Department of Education, our canteen volunteers will be running the stall, as they are permitted on site. 11.01.2022 In a year that has been filled with new learning experiences for us all, 2/3R have created an amazing assembly item to brighten everyone's spirits! Have a watch and a smile :-)

10.01.2022 The students in KB have been finding cicada shells around the school and asked questions about where they come from - as scientists do! So, they did some research and watched some video clips. KB learned that a cicada lives underground for 17 years before coming out, sheds their shell and has wings underneath. Today KB went on a hunt, found their shells and the holes in the ground. They were given points for each shell they found, counting them by twos and fives. The students took the shells home to show their families!

10.01.2022 We started to use the STEM.T4L PC Robotics and LEGO kits. Students have been taking the ozobots out for a spin, learning how to code and work collaboratively. They have also constructed their own robots.

09.01.2022 Please see the information below in regard to our Presentation Day celebrations for 2020. There will be two sessions held to minimise numbers. The parent of award recipients will be sent an invitation to attend and strict social distancing will apply. We hope to see our community there with us on Zoom.
