25.01.2022 Changes to vaccination standards The Queensland government has recently amended the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996 to allow suitably trained pharmacists to administer vaccines to persons 16 years or more. The Moura Pharmacy will now be offering this service to patients aged 16 years upwards (preivously the age limit was set at 18 years).

24.01.2022 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT Moura Pharmacy is participating in the Extended Trading Hours Trial initiative organised by Central Queensland , Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast PH...N. The program aims to provide extra pharmaceutical service access beyond the normal trading hours of the pharmacy: this will be 5pm till 7pm Monday through Friday. Please note that this trial is about providing extra access to pharmaceutical services (as opposed to the pharmacy just being "open" longer for late night shopping). The trial will start Monday 13th March and run until June 30th 2017. It is a condition of participation in this initiative that this pharmacy put in place procedures to ensure staff safety and control work levels: as such, only ONE customer (or family group) will be permitted in the pharmacy at any one time during these extended hours. An intercom system will be available at the pharmacy entrance for customers to make contact with the pharmacist inside:The pharmacist will then advise of any wait times due to other patients already being served in the pharmacy.

24.01.2022 2019 Influenza Vaccination stock has arrived at the Moura Pharmacy. This vaccination is able to be given at the pharmacy at any time without the requirement for a prescription (you will be required to wait for 15 minutes after the vaccination has been given). The pharmacy is able to vaccinate persons over 18 years of age only. Please contact the pharmacy for any further information.

24.01.2022 Alas, we are looking for a new pharmacy assistant to join our team at the Moura Pharmacy by mid- October. This will be a permanent-part time position for 3x 4.5 hour shifts ( not too hard on the feet!) each week plus every 3rd Saturday for 3 hours. Extra shifts may be required periodically to cover other staff. Previous retail experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Training will be provided as required. 21.01.2022 Additional COVID-19 Precautions at Moura Pharmacy. Due to new social distancing recommendations that were announced on Friday 21st of March, we are required to provide a 4-square meter area for each of our customers. As such, we have decided to limit the number of customers in the pharmacy at any one time to EIGHT people..... As you enter the pharmacy, please assess how many people are already waiting before deciding to enter. These measures are designed to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. 19.01.2022 PHARMACY-BASED INFLUENZA VACCINATION SERVICE Moura pharmacy is pleased to announce that we are able to provide an influenza vaccination service to our customers. No prescription will be required ( just complete a medical form to assess suitability).... Only patients over 18 years of age can be vaccinated. This service is available from 9am through till 4.30pm Monday’s through Fridays (9am -11am Saturday mornings) subject to staff availability (both Gregg and Craig are registered to vaccinate). Cost is $29.95 for a quadrivalent influenza vaccine.

Staff of AngloAmerican, and their immediate family members (over the age of 16 years) can receive an AngoAmerican-funded Influenza vaccine up till the end of June 2020. ... 08.01.2022 2020 Influenza Vaccines On April 22nd, Health Minister Greg Hunt announced another 3 million doses on flu vaccine would be released from the national stockpile into the pharmacy wholesale supply chains. This will bring the total number of flu vaccines available to 16.5 million doses nationwide for 2020. The extra doses will be released over the next month or two as logistics of transport and storage etc, allows for. The Moura Pharmacy has received some stock that will be av...ailable for administration from Monday 27th of April. So that the most vulnerable patients in our community get protection first, for the first week (27/4 till 2/5) the following groups of patients will be prioritised for vaccination, before any remaining doses are made available to the wider community, and corporate workplaces after 2/5/20. Examples of vulnerable patients include: >patients that are immunosuppressed >patients that have severe respiratory disorders >patients over the age of 65 in the instance that no National Immunisation Program (NIP) stock is available via the GP. Please note that this is not NIP stock, and there is currently no Government subsidy for pharmacists to vaccinate, and the cost per administered vaccine is $29.95. Please contact the pharmacy on 4997-1476 to book an appointment (we do usually do walk in’s but due to the high demand, we need to balance offering this service with maintaining our other pharmacy services to the community so please book).
