25.01.2022 Help and love yourself before you can do the same for others. Reposted from @talkingtochangepodcast To remain affective as therapists, as well as in our personal relationships, we need to make sure we protect ourselves against compassion burnout. Using supervision, attending therapy ourselves, mapping out our feelings are all ways we can decompress after an emotive session with a client. #selfcare #protect #motivationalinterviewing #podcast #compassion #selflove - #regrann

22.01.2022 Understanding how and why pain occurs is crucial in your recovery and working towards those activities that are meaningful to you.

20.01.2022 Scans are not the be all and end all.

15.01.2022 REPOST from my Instagram @move2thrive_exphys 7+ plus years of chronic shoulder pain/injury This may be piss easy for some people but I felt amazing after completing this with no pain For many people chronic pain is something they deal with and have tried many quick fixes. Through my own experience and helping other clients it is something we may have to deal with for the rest of our lives.... However this pain does not define us. It should not dictate our goals/values/life. We CAN learn to live with it by focusing on what we LOVE and learning to adapt if need be. I am not pain free and perhaps I never will be? Pain does not mean I am damaged it is simply my body trying to give me a signal to protect itself. This may be warranted or it may be my body too scared to do that certain movement from past experience. As an Exercise Physiologist I will continue to move my body and gradually focus on things that I try to avoid such as the military press above. I hope I can help you towards movements that you may fear so that you can become a resilient thriving individual.

12.01.2022 For those living with chronic pain, it can be debilitating, exhausting and impact every aspect of their lives. They may have trouble sleeping, going to work, g...oing to school or social activities, and difficulty with daily tasks. The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare reports that people with chronic pain are twice as likely to experience mental health conditions. Research shows that exercise reduces pain through a broad range of effects including decreased inflammation, increased muscle strength and endurance, better joint function and improved SLEEP and MOOD! As little as 20 mins of walking or cycling can decrease pain - exercise releases neurotransmitters, like endorphins, that decrease pain! So if you want to feel good, GET MOVING! #ExerciseRight #NPW2020

09.01.2022 I can certainly attest to this My girl Blaire 'forces' me on walks every morning prior to work. Walking with her daily I can easily pick up another 2000-5000 steps depending on how long we go for. She makes me accountable and also guilty when we do don't go for walks @exerciseright_aus

04.01.2022 I'm a bit late but happy International Day of Disability! Another year spent walking/exercising and beaching with this legend @tony_petrin . Even though he has Cerebral Palsy that doesn't stop him from living his best life. So glad to have met you Tony. You're an inspiration to myself and many others. Keep being the legend that you are
