22.01.2022 CLOSED Over the past few months I made the very hard decision to close down Move Easy Osteopathy. Unpredictable border closures and lock downs made it too hard to keep a regular schedule for clients so unfortunately it’s goodbye for now! For any of our lovely clients who wish to still see me, I’m still working in Cabarita Beach at Coastal Therapies. You can book online here:... https://www.coastaltherapiesco.com

13.01.2022 So many babies and pregnancies happening at the moment I’ve found that so many first time mums are lost when it comes to what they’re supposed to be doing during their pregnancies and how it all works! So here’s a small step-by-step guide on what to expect; Generally speaking, if your a low risk pregnancy, your GP will send you for a dating ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy once a test has shown positive. This is usually around 6-8weeks to check for a heartbeat and that b...ub is in the uterus not the fallopian tubes. Then you’ll get a 12 week ultrasound after which most people will begin telling friends and family about the pregnancy as the risk of miscarriage reduces after the first trimester. After this, a 20 week ultrasound will be ordered to check for any abnormalities such as Down syndrome and will show the sex if that’s what you choose to do! Then you usually won’t see bub again until they’re born! You will receive regular midwife or GP appointments to listen to the heartbeat and a general check up until 36 weeks where those appointments become more frequent until labour begins! Stay tuned for more pregnancy info

20.12.2021 OSTEO ABC’s I’ve seen a few other osteo pages with these so thought I’d get on board! Each week we’ll be sharing education on a different topic/condition that osteopathy is possibly able to help with, as well as some treatment options and lifestyle advice with these. Starting with A for arthritis! There are two main types of arthritis - rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. ... Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disorder that generally affects the joints in the hands. The body’s immune system starts to attack its own joints. There is no cure but most people are able to manage this condition with regular manual therapy during flare ups and remission. Osteoarthritis, on the other hand, is wear and tear of the joints in the body. The cartilage starts to break down until eventually it is bone on bone rubbing together which can get very painful. Treatment may include manual therapy such as joint mobilisation to improve ROM, decrease stiffness and increase lubrication, release any tight muscles surrounding the joints, taking glucosamine supplements, and sometimes surgery if advanced.

04.12.2021 Got a little one struggling with growing pains? I feel your pain but seriously, here’s five tips I’ve learnt from both study and personal experience. a little heat pack is your best friend, we have one that is also a sloth which makes it fun and much more likely to be used warm magnesium baths can do wonders before bed as generally night time can be the worst ... if your little one is waking through the night in pain, give their little legs a rub with some magnesium cream or other massage oils if you know that running and jumping all day will result in a horrible nights sleep, try and give your little one breaks throughout the day and enough rest to prevent it getting too bad - it’s still important for kids to be kids and get some physical activity though lots of reassurance and cuddles! These pains won’t last forever. Book into your local osteo if you can’t get these pains under control, they will be able to assess and treat any musculoskeletal dysfunctions that may be contributing.

20.11.2021 Dry needling One of my favourite modalities! We use the same needles as acupuncture but the principles are different. The purpose of the needling is to reduce hypertonicity of the muscles by inserting the needles into a muscle ‘knot’. This sometimes results in the muscle spasming or twitching around the needles which can be uncomfortable but generally not painful. The end result is muscles that are nice and soft and relaxed

11.11.2021 We are still open! Only two appointments left this week on Thursday - 1.30pm or 3.45pm. Book online now or message me
