24.01.2022 Runners. Endurance athletes. Team sports boys & girls. You’re probably having a rest from a big winter or starting to crank things up for the summer. So, where’s your training plan at? I don’t mean the team’s training schedule or what your mates are doing- what’s YOUR plan? How are you going to get faster & stronger than last year?... How will you avoid injuries & overtraining? How will you balance training with family & work commitments? If you can’t answer those questions it means you don’t have a plan, you’re just guessing or following someone else’s plan. If so we need to talk. I’ll help you structure your season so you don’t get hurt training & can perform at your best when it counts. Get in touch & let’s talk about how to set you up for a great season!

22.01.2022 New space is taking shape!

22.01.2022 What would the best, greatest, most awesome group fitness/fat loss/etc challenge-type-thing in the world look like for you? A few questions to get you started. (This isn’t a checklist - feel free to ignore the lot or answer them all. Go nuts!) How many times a week would you want to train?... Would it go for 6,8,10,12 or some other number of weeks? Would it include one on one sessions? Would it have nutrition coaching? Would it keep men & women in separate groups? Or throw them all in together? What would you hope to learn by the end? How would you want your life to be different 6 months after the program finished? Or, are short-term programs a waste of time? There seems to be hundreds of voices telling people what they need - I was wondering what you actually want? It’s your chance to express your opinions & design your perfect program for yourself - or just rip the fitness industry to shreds! Who knows, there could be a prize for the best & most entertaining ideas...

21.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has helped get the new gym space ready! And especially thanks to my family for your patience while I’ve basically been absent the last 4-5 weeks. This is what it looks like today!

21.01.2022 Quick 180 of the new gym! Come check it out!

21.01.2022 How’s your new year coming along? Personal Training sessions are back in full swing & I’m excited about our Small Group Fitness classes starting in a couple of weeks (first week in Feb). We’ve got a ladies only class mid-morning on Monday & a running-specific class on Monday evening. Both will run for 10 weeks during the NSW school term. Classes are capped at 6 so please let me know ASAP if you’re interested.

20.01.2022 Been helping this young gun out for the last 3+ years. Joe is off to the Canoe Marathon World Championships in China after a ripper 2019 season. Check out the video!

20.01.2022 The move is on!

17.01.2022 Have been discussing the fastest Aussie Marathon times with quite a few people over the last few days. Here is the link to the fastest men’s times. (The link for women’s times is also on the same page - I’ve mainly followed the men’s marathon & so have posted that link here as that’s what we’ve been discussing. There are some really interesting stats with the female marathon, will post on that another time). Most interesting to me is 1) Our fastest times are quite old by toda...y’s standards where records are constantly being challenged & broken; 2) We only have 5 runners under 2:10, but 17 runners sub 2:12. (Obviously, these times are incredibly fast out of reach for me & most people reading this. I’m talking about the elite of the elite). Interested in your thoughts as to why our runners have trouble cracking 2:10 (for reference, Eliud Kipchoge ran sub-2:02 at Berlin to set the world record a few months ago). Is it a mental barrier? Is it a reflection on our society at large as we’re all getting slower? Is it the lack of running & athletics culture in a country obsessed with ball sports & swimming? Is it because runners are skinny & not the big muscular types we see idolised in other sports? https://aus.run/index.php?lyear=1945&uyear=2019&gender=M

17.01.2022 Still a bit of work in progress, but the gym is open for business. First few clients through this morning were very gracious! Got to get finished up so we can test out that extra length of sled track!

14.01.2022 Start your weekend the right way! Starts 7am. Solid session where you can work hard - but without pulling up sore & wrecking your weekend!

14.01.2022 Running is awesome, but injuries suck. Prevention is the best cure. Don’t be a hero with crazy increases of volume - even if that’s what Killian or Eliud do - and get into specific strength training. Here’s a bit of what we get up to on Monday nights at our Running Strength class. Check it out!

09.01.2022 About to turn the lights off for 2019! One session left - our Endurance class, 7:00am tomorrow then we’re closed for 2 weeks over Christmas/new year. Thanks for everything & I look forward to seeing you all in 2020!

09.01.2022 Everyone, please do 1 million squats. You’ve got 6 months. See you then.

06.01.2022 Getting started on my nutrition coaching certification this week with Precision Nutrition! This is the heftiest textbook I ever hefted. Coaching coming your way soon - only 18 chapters, 626 pages, 9 hours of video & 180 exam questions to go!

05.01.2022 We're a COVIDSafe business with a COVID-19 plan in place to make sure you are kept safe during training.

03.01.2022 It was a big weekend (a couple of weeks back) for Move Gym trained athlete Ollie Cooper who played in both the winning Under 16 & A-Grade Ovens & Murray water polo grand finals & walked away with a swag of awards. In no particular order, on top of the 2 titles Ollie took out the: *U16 Ovens & Murray highest goal scorer, as well as best player in finals. *U16 Ovens & Murray best representative player. *U16 Sharks best & fairest. *Sharks A-Grade rising star. ... *Sharks A-Grade most improved player. It’s a pleasure to train Ollie, he is always at training sessions & works very hard. We have been building his strength & mobility this season which has been extremely beneficial to his match fitness. Recovery has been a big focus due to his heavy practice & competition schedule & he is reaping the benefits of getting the balance right. I forgot to mention, Ollie has also made the squad for selection in the NSW U16 team with tryouts in another month or so! All the best with that mate & congratulations again! See more
