25.01.2022 I love that there is no unison in this image... that each person dancing in the space is in their own body, concentrating on the steps, finding synchronicity of the movement, music and intention. . This is adult contemporary... there is no one way to do something, we are not seeking uniformity of the group, just passion and a desire to continually learn, explore, move and express ourselves through dance. . 15.01.2022 Ballet ... so many of us have had a complicated relationship with this art form throughout our lives. Ballet was the way in which I first entered the world of dance as a 4 year old. I idolised my ballet teacher and went from a frumpy kid and pre teen in the back row bouncing around, to a technical and graceful ballet student as a teenage and adult. Ballet taught me patience, precision and determination. It was always hard. It was always demanding. But it gave me so much in re...turn. A unique understanding of my body, the ability to make moving magic and find musicality in almost anything. Ballet gave me the grounding to explore other movement styles and become a choreographer. Ballet taught me about storytelling through dance. Ballet encouraged me to keep going, because the possibilities are endless. .
