22.01.2022 Life all of a sudden seems less certain and concrete, people are being forced to rethink their direction and focus on what they can control. My first post was not meant to be about 'how I am managing the risk' within my clinic, however it is time to let go and focus on what I can control. I am planning to stay open until the government deems otherwise.... Please see the link below, which highlights the strategies I am implementing to maintain healthy outcomes for my clients. - https://mailchi.mp/b394af9c30/how-i-am-tackling-coronavirus

14.01.2022 To all my current clients, I will be continuing to remain open due to the current low volume of clients that are passing through my clinic. Please see the most recent update below from my governing body - Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Also, look into my previous post for the measures I am taking to maintain a hygienic workspace.... Tyson ...... GOVERNMENT UPDATES OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION FROM MINISTER GREG HUNT ESSA has received confirmation from Allied Health Professions Australia following their communications with Minister Hunt this morning. In light of some states shutting down ‘non-essential services’, the Minister has confirmed that ALL allied health businesses nationally can continue working and are encouraged to do so. The Minister has also indicated that the Department of Health is now developing full allied health telehealth options, along with other health and medical services, within the week. This will be part of a staged plan and he encourages providers to continue vital face-to-face services where possible. However, ESSA reminds Members that commercial gyms are now closed until further notice. Members must adhere to the government’s guidance on social distancing and hygiene practice. ESSA is seeking clarification on whether on-site gyms/studios within clinic/practices can continue to operate and will advise ASAP. .....
08.01.2022 How is your mind coping? As the global level of fear and anxiety rise, it is paramount to focus on calming the mind through various mediums. Possibly the most effective and well researched currently is mindfulness practice, aka mindfulness meditation. ... Mindfulness can be best described as a focused practice of being fully present via engaging with the senses. This is a practice that deliberately and intentionally focuses back on the senses when the mind wanders back to past or future thinking (e.g stories, worries, judgments, etc.), this is now being called the default brain amongst researchers. Ultimately, this is a form of attention training with no particular state to achieve other than being fully present with your senses. Firstly, practice is emphasised developing awareness of the present moment, ultimately leading to an ability to start to discern both what we are aware of in each moment and what it is that is aware. An example - Sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes and take deep-slow breathes in and out. FOCUS on listening and feeling the sensations that arise from your deep breathing. Research has shown that regular mindfulness practice - Decreases stress, anxiety, and depression Supports better regulation of emotional reactions and increases positive psychological states Improves empathy and compassion Improves short term memory and processing speed and more..... There are plenty of apps to download that can help you get started, such as: Mindfulness app, headspace, insight timer, Wim Hof, etc. (These techniques often involve elements of intentional focus in combination with breathing.) Please check out the links below for more information.
