24.01.2022 Talking Youth Episode 9 is here! Leanne Rowbottom, director of @reviveholistichealth is a Conscious Nutritionist. What does that mean?? She is an experienced holistic practitioner of almost 20 years, qualified as a nutritionist, remedial massage therapist, Access Consciousness Bars facilitator and ESSE body worker, and meditation teacher. Her approach to nutrition and the body is not about the food, the diet or the scales, it is about edu...cating and supporting people (young and old) to break free from emotional eating and overeating, improve body image and self-esteem, develop a healthy relationship with themselves, and finally feel free with food and their bodies. In this chat you will gain so much valuable information that will allow you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings towards yourself and your body image. This truly is a hearty conversation, you guys will love this! Link in bio to access Ep 9 and all of the other wonderful conversations I have had. 24.01.2022 Life is one hell of a ride, and I’ve only got 39 years of stories to tell! However, approaching 40, has made me realise and honour, that within those 39 years holds an enormous amount of insight that would be selfish not to share with others. Insight you ask??? Yep loads of it...because I seemed to have embarked on quite the crazy journey to get here.... Mostly self-inflicted!!! I have spent a good portion of my life, reaching outside of myself for the answers, for the joy, for the validation. Now, I reached inside, because I trust that all of the answers lie there. For the next couple of weeks I will be sharing some of the ‘checklist life stories’ I believed and pursued. Experiences and situations I found myself in because I tried so damn hard to lead the ‘conventional life’ and be ‘normal’. (you know that appealing murky brown word!) I share these stories from a place of complete gratitude, because I trust that life happens FOR us, not TO us and I needed to learn these lessons (sometimes the hard way) to continue to shape the person I am today. So if you’d like to indulge in some juicy Fiona tales, subscribe here! www.movewithfiona.com.au I’ll keep them honest, real & captivating (would you expect anything less!!!) Because the truth is, I'm the furthest away from normal I could get. And I like it this way..and you might find, you do too! The first story will land tonight! :) See more

23.01.2022 I often seem to be in situations where I am reminded how 'little' I know and relish in the idea of constantly learning...constantly being the student! It is very humbling!!! I must admit, there was definitely a time in my life where I was the 'I know' girl.... As a leader, as a partner, as a professional, as a mother. But the older I get, the more I realise I 'DON"T know and a much bigger part of me seeks SOOOOO much more knowledge & experience. Do you find yourself already answering your own questions? How good are your listening skills? When was the last time you 'challenged' what you DO know? All questions I have been asked before by mentors and coaches. Again...very humbling!! Today in a delicious Yoga class led by @ewmovement, she reminded us all to embrace the student in us and move from a place of curiosity and connection, open to whatever may arise. Imagine leading life that way; curious, connected and open! I hope today you indulged in an eye opening student moment...and if you didnt, there's always tomorrow and every day following. Happy learning! xx See more

23.01.2022 "What do you want Fiona?" Has anyone ever asked you this question before? Your partner, employer, parent, friend.... ... It's a bloody confronting question, especially when you are head deep in the trudges of a 'conventional life'. We all have that person in our world that spends a lot of time whining about their circumstances right?! You know, that friend that we love dearly, but often want to place our hands on their shoulders and give them a little 'wake up' shake. We offer guidance, support, perspective.... But nothing lands. Their vision is narrow and skewed, with no prospect of light ahead. Have you been in that place before....I have! Reflection #5 is hitting your inbox tonight... I can;t wait to share, yet another tale wth you all. Dont forget to subscribe if you'd like to join in on the fun. www.movewithfiona.com.au #mentor #coach #wellness #mindfulness #wellnessprograms #empower #motivate #inspire #realisingyourpotentional #owningyourtruth #goals #mindset #growthmindset #change #creatingchange #youdeserveit #selfcare #yoga #namaste #iseeyou #guidance #support #movewithfionaluca #motherhood #performancecoach #findtheyou #businesssupport #expansion See more

23.01.2022 A beautiful phonecall I received today got me thinking... How often do you reach out for advice or opinions instead of trusting in yourself? A Tuesday Thought

22.01.2022 So tonight was going to be a productive one! - Put the girls to bed - Open the MAC - Bang out a productive few hours of work....plenty on the agenda to get through. ... But the truth is...Ive got very little in the tank tonight. Emotionally, creatively, energetically.... I chose instead to post this photo as for me it is a beautiful reminder of all of the things I have to be grateful for. Because the truth is, right now, if we dont hold onto the abundance that surrounds us already, we may just go a little stir crazy. This mudra to my forehead is exactly the way I close all of my Yoga classes. Both as a teacher and practitioner. The feeling of my thumbs gently pressing against my brow as I whisper Namaste gives me such an overwhelming sense of comfort, security and a feeling of connection to myself. It might sound cliche, but for me, this photo represents so much more than I can even articulate, and right now, reminds me of how grateful I am to have Yoga, Meditation and Myself...even during such a shit storm ;) This is my go to when I need to nurture ME. Perhaps you could take some time before bed tonight and do something that makes you feel the same way. Namaste...We are all in this together. xx #mentor #coach #weareallinthistogether #wellness #mindfulness #wellnessprograms #empower #motivate #inspire #realisingyourpotentional #owningyourtruth #goals #mindset #growthmindset #creatingchange #youdeserveit #selfcare #yoga #namaste #iseeyou #guidance #support #movewithfionaluca #selfcare #nurtureyourself #takecareofyou See more

22.01.2022 Whilst reading 'Wild Geese', a beautiful poem wiritten by Mary Oliver, this sentence jumped out at me and resonated so deeply. I have watched my children with such curiosity as they let their imaginations go wild and immerse themselves in 'make believe' play for hours on end. My eldest sometimes finds it hard to trust her imagination and whatever evolves from this place and yet my youngest is completely connected to it and loses herself ...in it. At what point do we cease from indulging in our imagination? Is there a poignant moment in time where we adopt a belief that tells us that being practical and sensible is the 'right' way to live? AND...what an absolute sense of relief to hear this concept and realise that, if we allow it, the entire world is 100% supportive of whatever idea, concept or creation our mind, heart and soul imagine! The 'world' is not discrimnatory of our imagination. The 'world' supports our imagination. The 'world' WANTS us to use our imagination So get imagining friends. Immerse yourself in oppurtunities to let your imagination go wild and see how far it goes. And know...the most profound concepts that are now part of our everyday life (the internet, flying to the moon etc etc) all started from one single persons 'wild' imagination! Happy imagining x See more

21.01.2022 It sounds pretty straight forward doesnt it. I think the simplicity of this statement is what really resonates with me. Can you reflect on times or situations in your life where you constantly make the poor choice, irrelevant of the knowledge or hindsight you have? ... I can! The relationship, food choice, work environment, friendship circle etc etc. When we feel a sense of lack inside, we make the choice that is going to reinforce the lack. In many of my posts I present thought provoking questions or sentiments, and invite you to take that next step and reflect further. Why do I do this?? Because it is through asking ourselves these often challenging questions that we gain further insight into ourselves and how we operate. Instead of placing blame on what is happening outside of us, we can instead look inside at our limiting beliefs, our thought patterns, our lack of self-worth or love and decipher going forward, what we can do to change these to make better, more aligned choices going forward. What choices do to keep making that leave you feeling poorly about yourself and your situation? My Calm Confidence 4 Week Online Course is ALL about this! SELF REFLECT, SELF DISCOVER, SELF EMPOWER! Registrations close tonight. You ARE worth it and it IS important. X BOOK ONLINE www.movewithfiona.com.au See more

20.01.2022 Warning! Heartfelt mumma post right here. This photo was taken nearly a year ago, pre removal of the dummy from our lives! Why do I love this photo? Because it is the epitome of LOVE and reminds me of how much I adore them yet also how different they are, therefore how differently I need to show up for them both.... I chose to write about this photo tonight, because today, based on a very concious and 'real' conversation with Miss 5, I was reminded of Gary Chapmans concept of the '5 Love Languages' and how each of us express and desire love in different ways and by knowing this we can effectively and consistently make eachother feel truly and deeply loved. This morning it seemed I couldnt get it right for either (or rather, my awareness wasnt sharp enough to realise what I was doing wrong) Lulu was wanting more, and more and MORE of my time, whilst Leilani was unsatisfied with every effort I made to provide her with oppurtnites for a 'wonderful' day! I felt frustrated, guilty and a little helpless and hopeless. And once both were dropped off to their daily activites, I drove to work crying, wondering what went wrong. Well I was told, by my higher self AND very clearly by Leilani this evening. "Mum, I know sometimes we get more time together than you do with Lulu, but she gets way more cuddles than me and that makes me feel sad" Yes...she is 5! Leilani needs affection and physical touch to feel truly and deeply loved and Lulu needs my quality time. I 'know' this, but my actions were NOT reflecting this. I was being the mother I thought I 'should' be rather than the mother I 'need' to be for my girls. We all want our loved ones to feel loved, but HOW do we need to show up for them in order for it to be felt and received? Should we ASK? See more

20.01.2022 Tree Pose - Vrksasana I love this pose! Grounding & stabilising, this posture encourages focus and requires a beautiful disconnect from everything outside of you. Sounds bliss right! ... This is a more advanced variation, but you can opt for the bent knee foot to rest beside the standing foot on the mat or to the inner shin below the knee (avoid resting the foot on the actual knee) As you press firmly down through the standing foot, you lengthen your spine tall and almost feel a buoyancy through the torso. I like to visualise my standing leg as a tree stump and my torso above, as the branches. Hug you muscles towards the centre of your body and gently tuck the chin to elongate the back of the neck. Not only does this pose improve balance and strengthen the standing leg and core muscles, it affords you an opportunity to be still and focused on one specific point (drishti) With focus comes clarity. This is only one of the many beneficial yoga poses taught in the Yoga component of my 4 week, online, Calm Confidence Program. October enrolments are open now. Is it time to learn more about YOU? Is it time to reconnect back to yourself and rediscover WHO you are and WHAT fills your cup. Is it time to dedicate some time to Self Care and looking after #1. www.movewithfiona.com.au x See more

20.01.2022 I was mentoring an incredible business owner last week, and we spoke about leadership qualities and those that she embraced and others that caused quite the reaction. This led us into a long conversation about reactions as I encouraged her to take it one step further and commence dissecting those exact reactions. When a strong emotion presents itself, irrelevant of its nature, we know it is because it has struck a senstive nerve! ... We have essentially been triggered.... But what is that emotion trying to tell us or reinforce? What has been jeopardised, threatened, or challenged that has lead to this reaction? Amidst (well headfirst into) the festive season, no doubt many of us (I am not excluded from this team) will be triggered and emotions will run a little wild. Can I invite you to create some space between the emotion and the experience and attempt to define the emotion; noting it is a representation of something that is important to you. If the emotion is a negative or painful one, perhaps your beliefs and values have been questioned or unmet. If the emotion is a positive one, acknowledge and relish in the joy of being in alignment with your truth. I dont know about you, but the pressure of this silly season often gets the better of me. Take a deep breath and appreciate that every single day (including the BIG one) is another oppurtunity to grow, expand and indulge in this crazy thing we call LIFE. Namaste x See more

18.01.2022 As I always say, the most effective, productive and rewarding money spend, is that on yourself! As a self- employed professional for my entire adult life, and a company owner for 12 years of that time, I realised that I thought I knew alot more about myself professionally and personally than I actually did. What I also realised, is that you DONT have to do it all on your own.... I adore working with people both personally and in business to support a growth mindset, to provide tools to discover who they are and how they operate in their day to day lives, to decipher the parts that ARE working and the ones that ARENT and to help navigate ways to create change that serves themselves and their businesses wholeheartedly. Sometimes you need to hear it from someone else, especially someone that has been there, to make sense of the noise! Perhaps the hustle is no longer serving you? I was a self-professed hustler...NO LONGER. Feel free to reach out: [email protected]. x See more

17.01.2022 I remember that time I felt immense guilt for not being the ‘mother’ that LOVED to stay at home and be a mother. I have always been an ambitious soul, throwing myself into every opportunity and challenge I can to explore how far I can go and what I can find! Having children was always on the radar for me and as I grew older and more ambitious, I never really contemplated how I would navigate the mum/career thing; all I knew is that I want...ed both. 17.01.2022 I am so very proud to be hosting this wonderful and hugely necessary event. Lets Talk Body Image will be led by myself and 2 exceptionally educated and passionate women, dedicated to raising the awareness of the prominence of Distorted Body Image amongst Youth. I have spent a very large portion of my life in the Disordered Eating space and what I have learnt is that not only does it place enormous pain and suffering on the sufferers, but... the parents and families of these young people are hugely effected also. If my parents had this sort of support and knowledge when I was suffering, I am sure they would have been able to show up for me in a way that was beneficial not only for my recovery but for their own ability to cope. As 3 women, with lived experience, pursuing varying vocations and professions dedicated to educating and empowering people to love themselves and their bodies, we are banding together to provide an educational and honest evening of discussion around this topic and offer tools, guidance and key aspects to look out for to support the young generations who are hurting and make sense of why this is happening. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.movewithfiona.com.au/lets-talk-body-image/ It is time to open up a much needed and potent conversation.

16.01.2022 Is anyone else feeling like calm is a little challenging to access right now?! For me, I am sensing into ALOT of energy. My own and others, and the constant feeling of restlessness and anxst is presenting itself. If youre anything like me, you just want to rip the face mask off, get out of your COVID uniform and socialise in a BIG way with your nearest and dearest..hugs and all! ... Right now, our ability to create perspective and mindfullness AND manage our emotional reactivity is being hugely challenged. What are you doing to stay calm? And if you cannot answer that question...what COULD you do to support yourself right now? I have chosen to add LOTS of herbal tea to my diet. I am singing alot and I am also sending a message a day to someone that I care about, reminding them that I am thinking of them and love them. This little gesture is having a BIG impact. Practicing gratitude is a lovely and gentle reminder to not get caught up, because that too is easy to do! Mindful Monday...have a beautiful week x See more

11.01.2022 Have you ever considered how often we wake up, on a brand new day, still wearing the backpack from the one before...and many, many moments in time even before that! On Saturday morning I relished in the most divine Ashtanga Yoga class, and before our bodies started moving, we were reminded of the uniqueness of that moment in time. It was new, it was precious and it was like no other we had ever experienced...yet the irony was that I had stood at the top of... my mat, ready to commence a Yoga class, hundreds of times over. This concept has stayed with me since, serving as a gentle reminder to 'let go'. We hold on so tight to what 'we know' or 'have experienced' or 'expect' rather than simply embracing the newness of every, perfect moment. Imagine taking the pressure off every situation and instead embracing the experience for what it is...no looking ahead, no looking behind. How freeing!!! For me, this concept offers me choice. 11.01.2022 Those nearest and dearest to me have always shed light on my larger than life energy. Ive always known this, more humbly so in my later 30s, but havent always been so mindful throwing around this energy of mine. It has served me beautifully as a teacher, mentor and in leadership in business as I have always been able to lift, motivate and empower in these platforms. ... At times when I have been overwhelmed by life, situations or personal relationships, the scope of my energy has somtimes left others feeling the brunt of it. Yesterday I spent a good portion of my day filming Mindfulness videos for my next Project via BATforce entitiled Mindful Minutes. A 6 week series dedicated to broaching relevant Youth topics that encourage and teach Mindful practices and tools. Week 5 we focus on Controlling Our Energy Do you ever consider what energy you are putting out into the world? Do you recognise the effect it is having on your attitude, your perception, your behaviour, your results? Can you acknowledge the effect it is having on those around you? 11.01.2022 I had every intention of posting a Soul Fuel Sunday video today, but not sure Ill get behind the screen with the busy kids. 10.01.2022 I’m still riding off the incredible buzz that was last week! 10.01.2022 I had planned on writing a whole spiel about this concept; one that landed so beautifully for me last night whilst catching up on a lecture. 10.01.2022 I wont lie, this week was a tough one. Personal overwhelming tribulations, combined with our current global situation, married with some toddler temper tantrums and a schedule that required more hours in every day than I had access to. It would have been very easy to stay curled up under the doona for a good part of it. ... But you know, for me, the optimisit, the seeker, the what can I learn from this approach, always kicks in overdrive when I need it to. I was interviewed by a beautiful soul for her podcast this week (which will be released super soon) and I reiterated the importance of creating your destiny and finding the opportunity in EVERYTHING. Alas, I ate my own words and am brewing something VERY exciting. Are you the wait for a rainy day or special occasion type of person? Do the sentiments; "IF only", "WHEN it happens", "It will be better WHEN" fall out of your mouth often? The world never stops and because of that, there is magic that is brewing all around us every millisecond of the day. Are your eyes open to it? Can you see the pot of gold before the rainbow is in sight? Life is to short to wait right. Stay Tuned...opportunity is just around the corner. xx See more

09.01.2022 Today I had an epic session with one of my Youth mentoring clients. I feel so grateful and honoured that young people and their parents entrust in me to support their journey. Today I made a pact with my client to be accountable for eachother as we share our 3 wins each and every day until our next session. ... We (I) spend alot of time achieving things, doing things, and ticking boxes...with the purpose of moving straight onto the next. I personalise this sentiment, as I am a HUGE culprit of this. However, by not acknowledging our own wins, small or large, we are not allowing ourselves the opportunity to reflect on the process and journey and CELEBRATE the outcome. - CELEBRATE OURSELVES - It is fascinating to note how many HUGE wins we achieve each and every day without giving ourselves the recognition we deserve. Why dont you try this exercsie for yourself? What are your wins for the day? Could you share them with us so that we can celebrate you also? x A reminder that my October Calm Confidence Program is now open for enrolments. 08.01.2022 A heartfelt thank you for supporting me, my journey and this community in 2020. A little video to share my 3 insights and/or tips in anticipation of a very ‘weighted’ day that can often cause more distress than joy! Enjoy your special day tomorrow, whatever that looks like and remember how HUGE this year was, and how deserving you are of a MAMMOTH pat on the back! ... With love Namaste

08.01.2022 So it has taken me 3 days to write the 'expected' Happy 2021 post...seems I wasnt quite ready when the clock ticked over! I have been pondering the purpose of this post and intially leaned towards realing off my triumphs and challenges and expressing how insightful and necessary they all were to my personal growth. (...and they were!)... However, truth be told, if you have been following me regularly, you'll have seen them already!! You were there WITH me and maybe even commented, or sent a message, posted an emoji or simply clicked the like button to show your support (Thank You x) However, I woke up on New Years Day feeling HEAVY. Like the all encompassing events of 2020 were resting on my shoulders. 'Oh shit'...I thought. This is NOT a good start. But today, the 3rd January, 2021, I woke up to the pouring rain and was consumed by the urge to run...IN IT! And so I did, for km's and km's, and washed away the year that was with a stupid grin on my face! Arriving home, somewhat like a drowned rat, I acknowledged that during that cleansing, I held onto the parts of 2020 that served me and my growth and waved goodbye to those that didn't. (hence the grin) I unpeeled yet another layer of the onion and feel rejuvenated and ready to embrace all that this year has to offer, in the most mindful and authentic way I know how. One of 2 podcasts I listened to today reminded me that 'We do the best that we can, with the awareness that we have'. In 2021 I chose to be aware. In 2021 I chose to lead with integrity In 2021, there is no hurry. Instead I chose embrace the journey with presence, curiosity and a sense of FUN! Happy 2021! x See more

08.01.2022 Last Wednesday was a memorable one. Lets Talk Body Image, in collaboration with Merrin Wake, founder of @theawareproject and Leanne Rowbottom from @reviveholistichealth premiered. An online conversation about Body Image, Distorted Eating and Eating Disorders. A conversation that I believe so desperately needs to dominate to support Youth and their families and was led by 3 women with lived experience. ... Stories were shared, insight was revealed and a continual reminder that blame and shame, although common feelings associated with suffering, need to be removed in order for support and healing to really take place, both for the sufferers and their families. I shared my story, it was the first time in 20 years. The feedback (me to me) from sharing has been quite overwhelming since. Re-living such a painful part of my life brought up many emotions, which inevitably had the power to really play havoc with my mind. However, the dominant emotion that arose from this evening was Pride. Truly. For any parent out there painfully watching their child suffer this insidious illness, or for any sufferer living the reality of it....there CAN be light. It takes strength, immense courage, trust, understanding and a realisation that life is precious and worthy of living and experiencing. The blocks are re-built slowly, mindfully and cautiously. For every 1 good day, there are 5 bad to follow. The pain doesnt really go away, nor do the thoughts, however what starts to take over is clarity, persistence and acceptance. My eating disorder provided me with knowledge, knoweldge of myself. With this comes power, and when I channel my power in the right direction, the world is my oyster. For this I am grateful, and I am proud. Support is out there. https://www.nedc.com.au See more

07.01.2022 I have been thinking about this concept a lot recently. Its not rocket science to acknowledge the increase in programs being developed during this time. COVID has certainly afforded those that want to help an opportunity to create platforms that support and nurture the well-being of others.... I am one of those people! In saying that, given the abundance of wellness or self-help programs arising, the barrage of positive psychology on Social Media and the eagerness to encourage others to dig deep and radiate outwards (as I always say) I do believe there is still a HUGE lack of results coming from all of this. Why??? We all want knowledge right, we all want support and we all seek help, yet how many of us are prepared to really apply that knowledge, take action and challenge our engrained, limiting beliefs? Often we are left disheartened that the outcome didnt replicate what the landing page told us it would, or didnt see the instantaneous results we invested in. I can resonate with this! However, from my own experience, if you walk in with expectation, with a pre-conceived idea, with slight cynicism, you have already closed the door to growth, development and support. How open is your mind to change and TRULY accepting help? Nothing like a good Sunday ponder... See more

07.01.2022 Is 'I know' a common part of your vocabulary? Whilst studying on the weekend the most profound statement landed on my lap 'Knowing has limited benefits' What did they mean by that? Well, after falling off my chair, I contemplated this sentiment, essentially for the remainder of the weekend and concluded this! ... As parents, friends, daughters, sons, teachers, leaders, business owners, professionals; our 'knowledge', 'expertise' and 'experience' often define the role we play in those capacities Right...? Bu what if I said that YES knowledge is power, but so is CURIOSITY! 'Learning' as an oppurtunity to be introspective, and connect on a much deeper level than what we simple see, hear, smell, taste and touch. When we 'already' know, we have instantly created a barrier to allow any more insight or perspective into our radar. Do you ask alot of questions or do they resemble a more 'rhetorical' tone? How good are your listening skills? I have sourced lots of support from different modalities in my time, and a Life Coach once made me wear a bracelet on my right wrist. This bracelet was encouraging me to improve my listening skills. Whenever I was in a situation where I wanted to interject, or I already claimed to have the answer, I would flip the bracelet over to my left wrist as an action of reflection. So dare I ask... How much do you know and how much is this stopping and limiting you from expanding your view and leading you from a place of openness and curiosity, rather than KNOWING! There are 4 days left before I close enrolments for my 4 week Online Foundations of Yoga and Mindfulness Program. PM me for deets. x See more

07.01.2022 How do you feel about this sentiment above? I've found myself talking quite a lot about indecision throughout COVID, perhaps because there is an enormous amount of fear driving our thoughts, actions and feelings and decisions...or lack there of. Whilst many of us liken change to a 'good holiday', this year has presented change like never before. Our worlds have been flipped on their heads and we have realized that we have a lot less contr...ol over our circumstances than we realized. We are 'reacting' to what is going on outside, rather than what is going on inside. Truth be told, my life, at present, has involved more indecision that I am used to. Perhaps because I haven't had the time, nor access, to connect with myself on a much deeper level and to 'really' hear myself and tune inwards, I have found myself reaching 'outside' for answers. Now I know better than this and those of you that have been following my work know me better than this also. So my urgency to post this message comes from a genuine place of understanding, awareness and first hand experience. I have been indecisive, a little scattered and my accountable nature has been compromised because I have slipped into a habit of disconnection, from myself. The meditations have gotten a little shorter each day, the extra Yoga class was replaced with a run or a Podcast editing session and my breath awareness has turned into 5 conscious breaths in the morning, rather than multiple times a day. Point of the story - the time I am NOT spending on me, is being wasted rationalising confusing, disconnected thoughts. Moral of the story - remember your prioriteis Fiona! 05.01.2022 Last week I took part in a 5 day Meditation and Pranayama Immersion, facilitated by the incredible Chris Wilson from @yokeyoga. A 2 hours a day commitment to being still. Although immersed in my own daily meditation practice, this experience afforded me an opportunity to truly connect with myself and realise something a little confronting. ... My heart was yearning for a lot of compassion, some healing and an opportunity to be heard. And although I believed that I was being kind to myself and was connecting daily to my heart, I most certainly had created a protective barrier during this time to be able to cope. Perhaps I hadnt given enough acknowledgement to the overwhelm and fear I have associated with our current pandemic. Perhaps I hadnt given enough acknowledgement to the MAMMOTH pivot and professional endeavour I am pursuing. Perhaps I hadnt given enough acknowledgement to the change my life has adopted both personally and professionally throughout 2020. This much needed and very welcomed immersive, reiterated, in true Yoke Yoga form, how important it is to connect to the heart. The centre of our being. This week I connected with my heart, and I re saw the light amongst some darkness and I allowed myself to cry and contemplate and be STILL. This quote Chris shared last night, really landed for me and the timing was perfect. Thank you @chriswilson.yoke. It was amazing and I am grateful. xx How is your heart today? See more

01.01.2022 I have been spending some time reflecting, both personally and from a coaching perspective on reactivity and the information our reactive behaviours have to tell us, if we chose to listen. Our reactions are often letting us know about a prior experience of being overwhelmed. Can you think of a recurring situation in your life that leaves you feeling overwhelmed with reactivity?... Your language, bodily actions and gestures, posture and expression almost uncontrollably REACT to what is being said or what you are witness to or experiencing. It happens so quickly, almost as if it was an out of body experience, that it leaves you zero time to process WHY the reaction is even occurring. The body can express itself through non-verbals sometimes more clearly or directly than with spoken words, revealing a level of our experience that we may not even know we are communicating. Could we be SAYING more then our words convey??? Reach out to me personally if you would like to explore this and anything else further in 1 of my 4 remaining FREE, 30 minute discovery calls. Open to all ages. PM to learn more. Namaste x See more

01.01.2022 So perhaps I should elaborate on what I mean by relaxing... Moving out of my home, into a 4 week house sit, then into a new home. Caring for 2 children under the age of 6 and fullfilling my weekly commitments as a podcaster, dance educator, coach, program consultant... OK what I am really trying to say is, there is not A LOT of resting happening, but I HAVE made a conscious decision to lean back a little from the push.... 2020, for me, has been so hugely transitional, both personally and professionally. I am sure many of you can relate. Mindfully choosing to lay a little lower for a period of time to nest my priorities (my little family) feels so genuinely right and wholesome right now. Does this mean I have failed? HELL NO Does this mean that my purpose has dwindled? ABSOLUTELY NOT Does this mean that I should feel guilt and shame for honouring my need to rest and recalibrate? NOOOOOO. Does this mean my creative genie will be taking a loooong siesta? PROBABLY THE OPPOSITE! What this DOES means however, is that I recognise and remember what burn out feels like. I also understand the universal laws of allowing the FLOW and impeccable timing. Right now, it is time to focus on what is important and allow all of my foundational seeds to grow at the pace and rate they are destined to. As women, there is such an inheritant, deep seeded conditioning that encourages us to do it all, at the same time. Feelings of guilt and shame seem to pop up if we dont have 100 things on the go! . Well truth is, I've been there and done that and it doesnt work. ;) If your mind, body and heart are calling for rest (a little like mine) I invite you to listen. Happy Wednesday to my wonderful community, near and far xx See more

01.01.2022 When Dr @junealexand, a mental health advocate and author of 10 books, reached out to me, inviting me to share my story on her international blog 'The Diary Healer', I was a little taken aback. It was one thing to answer some questions for the local paper or on a podcast episode but to really sit down, with my thoughts and feelings and dissect 2 decades worth of painful memories, was a whole other kettle of fish. Truth be told, I journal wrote near...ly every day whilst in the unsafe territory of Anorexia. Thinking back, it was this precious escape of writing out my thoughts that hugely supported the acknowledgment of what was really going on in my mind and finding the strength to address it. Then I stopped writing. And every time I went to put pen to paper, it felt foreign, uncomfortable and like a waste of time. Writing this blog unleashed so much more than I ever anticipated. I told the truth, for the first time in a lifetime. And through owning my truth, I made sense of some of the reasons behind my thoughts, feelings and actions. Diaries don't lie....and for me, especially this year, taking the time to connect pen to paper has revealed so much about myself that I never knew. Do you journal? Are you open to it? If not, have you considered why the process perhaps brings up some negative assosications or fears? What would happen if before you went to bed tonight you put pen to paper and began to write.....? You can find my story at www.thediaryhealer.com In my upcoming 4 week Foundations of Yoga and Mindfulness Course, journal writing will play an integral role in the LIVE sessions. Want to learn more? PM me for details :) See more

01.01.2022 If there is one thing I take pride in, it is my loyalty.... to my community, my relationships, my work and to my humbleness and commitment to call it for what it is! Fiona needed a break...a break like none other I had ever given myself permission to take. ... 2020 has been transitional for me personally, but nothing compared to the past 6 weeks. The barrage of emotions that have presented over this period of time have been honestly, quite overwhelming and a result of so many things that have evolved both personally and profesionally in 2020. During this time my focus has dwindled, my discipline hazy and my commitment the things that light me up and make me feel whole; a little amiss... Elizabeth Gilbert spoke of the stove top burner analogy, whereby we can really only have 2 or 3 (max) burning at a time, and need to accept that everthing else will be left to wait until it is time to change burners. Alight the past 6 weeks has been 2 very significant burners..my children and my mental heath! Everything and everyone else just had to wait. Tonight we decorated the tree...and this photo is a representation of joy, relief, exhaustion and LOVE in our new home! Unfortunately one of the trio is missing as she refused to wear clothes in any shot! ;) Slowly but surely I can feel space re-enter my world commence and create the next chapter. To my beautiful family, friends and community that have supported me through their communication, kind words, acts of generosity and best wishes during this time...I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. In 17 days this wild year will come to close...what a lifetime of lessons were learnt. Namaste x See more

01.01.2022 There are a series of gorgeous picture books for children, of iconic women in leadership, and Leilani was lucky to be gifted Maya Angelous on her 4th birthday. She asks me to read it to her most nights. I love this quote above and everything Maya Angelou stood for.... Other beautiful sentiments she shared that really resonate with me are: "If you teach, do as your teaching". "Try to be all you can be, to be the best human being you can be" "Take up the battle, this is your life, this is your world" "Im still in route" (Age 85) Need I say more.... I truly believe that knowledge is EVERYTHING, and knowing that we dont know enough is a genuine commitment to growing every single day we are fortunate to be here. I made a commitment a long time ago to grow, learn and expand myself each and every day, and I adore that Leilani and Lulu are being exposed to this language and these sentiments as little dots! Thank you Maya Angelou for your legacy. xx See more
