25.01.2022 The 3 amigos. Semitendinosus, Semimembranosus and Biceps Femoris. The forgotten giants of leg prime movers. HSI (hamstring strain injury) accounts for a massive 54%-68% of all injuries in NFL, football (soccer), rugby and track & field and 11%-27% in AFL!! The majority of HSI occur during sprinting. Major risk factors include poor flexibility, strength imbalance, low eccentric strength, previous injury, age and improper warm up. What can you do.....Stretch the amigos, gently ...warm up the amigos, strengthen the amigos and properly recover the amigos!! Stretches- forward flexion toe touch, downward dog pose & the hurdler. Strengthen - Romanian deadlifts, kettle bell swings, single leg deadlifts. Warm up- glute/hamstring bridges, Nordic curls, single leg calf raise & wall leg swings. Recover- remedial massage, foam roll & tennis ball trigger point the amigos. Avoid the twinge and have a great season! For any tips or help send me a message. See more

22.01.2022 As we shut the front door on 2019 I just wanted to take a quick second to say thank you. I get so much joy, satisfaction, laughter, knowledge and humility out of my work, but most of all I get to help. Helping is the purpose behind Move With Purpose and it wouldn’t possible without you. It sounds cliche but live your dreams in 2020. It’s hard as hell most days, the responsibility and pressure can be overwhelming, but you will learn you can deal with it all. The rewards of living your purpose are unspeakable. So get after it and don’t sell yourself short.

I get to practice healing and helping on a daily basis, and it is the greatest gift I can ever give or receive. 17.01.2022 Say ello to my little friend Sartorius, or a pain the the knee. This cheeky little devil runs from your ASIS (the outside of you hip) all the way to the pes anserinus tendon (the inside of your knee). The sartorius has a few major jobs so it tends to get over worked and under treated, making it a little sore and upset. This generally results in knee pain and hip tightness. It’s a huge hip mover and shaker! It flex’s the hip and knee, laterally rotates the hip, abducts the hip and it medially rotates the flexed knee. So basically if you do anything involving walking, running, yoga, squatting, or sitting at a desk your sartorius is involved. 13.01.2022 The SCM for short. Well this guy definitely punch’s above his weight in terms of its size:discomfort ratio! From headaches to restricting range of motion in cervical flexion, lateral rotation and even restricting full inhalation capacity! This cheeky little dude has all of this in his hot little double headed hands. Originating from the sternum and clavicle then and making his way all the way up to the base of your skull (mastoid process) the SCM has a few sneaky pain referra...l patterns that I look for in your consult. Generally athletes use this guy to take beautiful deep breathes but anxious breathing can also cause this dude to kick off a bit of a tantrum. Restricting moment in the neck also plays a massive part in why I take time to assess the SCM a lot of my clients work office jobs looking forward and down. This can lead to weakness in the SCM and shortening of the fascia surrounding it due to lack of full movement. See more

I am trained in how to stimulate responses from it, remind your proprioceptive system how far your muscles can actually stretch and move and I can mobilise joints all to increase ROM, but in reality....your nervous system is doing all the hard work. So take care of your nervous system and it will take care of you
