24.01.2022 Colin Farrell & Paula Patton Eyed For Warcraft Shes negotiating, hes been offered a role... If you follow Moon and Source Code director Duncan Jones on Twitter, you know that A) he likes a giggle and B) is preparing to kick off production work on his biggest job yet adapting Blizzards sprawling MMORPG Warcraft into a film. Hes deep into casting now and is apparently considering Paula Patton and Colin Farrell for two of the leads.... Pattons deal is said to be further along shes actually negotiating while Farrell is still umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether he wants to take part so it could go either way. Jones is hunting for other cast members and no doubt has a back up list for Farrells role if he doesnt sign on. The plot for the film, written by Blood Diamonds Charles Leavitt, is still largely under wraps, though since Warcrafts world involves all manner of medieval battles between the likes of dragons, werewolves, elves, wizards and warriors, theres scope for something epic here. The director wowed the crowed with what he called a "mood piece" at this years Comic-Con and theres plenty of anticipation for the movie. Legendary Pictures is picking up the tab (which likely means Universal will distribute the eventual film under its new deal with the company) and Jones will start shooting in January.

23.01.2022 DUMB AND DUMBER TO Its been ten years since the disappointing prequel, Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. More importantly, its been 19 years since Dumb And Dumber, the laxative-fuelled farce that made millions laugh uproariously (and want to buy a dog-shaped car) back in 1994. Next year comes Dumb And Dumber To, the long-awaited sequel from The Farrelly Brothers that reunites Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey with their alter egos, Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas. And if y...ou were looking for proof that its actually happening, check out Carreys toothy grin above. Tweeted via his WhoSay account, its the closest the worlds come to a still from the project, which has gone through a long period of production trouble. At one point, Carrey didnt want to be involved, then Carrey was back in, then Warner Bros. pulled out, then Red Granite stepped in.. and now everything seems to be smooth sailing, with Sean Anders, Mike Cerrone, John Morris and Bennett Yellin on scripting duties while the Farrellys concentrate on the directing side of things. Details on the plot have not yet been confirmed, but reports suggest that the story will involve the pair looking for one of their children to find a kidney transplant donor, an idea that seems to be backed up by Kathleen Turners casting as Fraida Felcher, the "babe who worked for the tractor company", who could well be the mother. No official release date has been announced for Dumb And Dumber To, but its been confirmed that shooting will start on September 24 (15 days away). 22.01.2022 Ellen Page To Fight For Queen & Country Shes in negotiations for the comic book adaptation Not content with simply showing back up again as Kitty Pryde for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Ellen Page has her eye on her own comic-based potential franchise. Shes close to a deal to star in spy action film Queen & Country.... 20th Century Fox is developing the Oni Press graphic novel created by Greg Rucka. Itself inspired by 1970s ITV series The Sandbaggers, Queen focuses on Tara Chance, an agent of the Special Operations Section, which works under the SIS (think MI-6). Colloquially known as the Minders the various operatives must negotiate the tricky bureaucracy and politics of their missions as well as the slightly important part about putting their lives on the line. Chance will have to stop an international terrorist plot when her identity is compromised and her personal demons start to asset themselves. Leverage TV creator (and Transformers story contributor) John Rogers is back aboard for script duties after various writers took a crack during the projects stay in development hell. Theres no word on a director yet, but Pages casting means this one is finally seeing some traction. Page was last seen in The East and is looking to make her directorial debut with Miss Stevens. Shes attached to star in Freeheld and Days Of Future Past will be released on May 22 next year.

21.01.2022 JURASSIC PARK 4 SET FOR RELEASE IN 2015 Recently it became known that Legendary Entertainment would be parting ways with long-time partner, Warner Brothers Entertainment in turn for a chance to sign on with a different big-name studio, Universal Studios. Since the announcement of their departure from Warner Bros., Legendary hasnt wasted any time deciding on which new films theyll co-finance with new partner Universal Studios. According to a report by Variety, Legendary is s...et to commit $350 Million per year towards a number of Universal films - the first of which being Gary Shores "Dracula". Though neither a spokesperson for Universal or Legendary was available to comment on the situation, its also expected that Thomas Tull (Legendarys CEO) will be involved with financing Colin Trevorrows Jurassic Park 4, which currently is still undergoing re-writes. As previously mentioned, Universal is planning to slate Jurassic Park 4 for summer, 2015 - which means production and casting news should start to surface within a few months. 21.01.2022 Jurassic World Roars In For 2015 Jurassic Park IV gets a title and release date Though we all worried when the fourth Jurassic Park film struck a delay and Universal announced it wouldnt make its planned 2014 release, everyone began to breathe easier when a banner announced a 2015 date. Now we know the exact release date June 12, 2015, in the US at least and what it will be called. Welcome, then, to Jurassic World.... What that title means is anyones guess right now at least outside of the core filmmaking group of director Colin Trevorrow, co-writer Derek Connolly, producer Frank Marshall and Jurassic Park warden/executive producer Steven Spielberg but it points to a wider scope this time around. Does that title mean that the dinosaurs get loose on a wide scale? Will we see pterodactyls in the skies over Europe? On the other hand, maybe it just means that this time the park is bigger, in the same way that Disney World is bigger than Disneyland. Trevorrow and Connolly have been working on the script, which has seen work from Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, but they needed more time to develop it before shooting can begin. Theres no exact date for the start of shooting yet, but everyone involved is working full tilt now, especially since they have to have this behemoth ready for 2015 in 3D... Start your guesses now as to exactly what Jurassic World will involve!

It later acquired the retronym of Star Trek: The Original Series to distinguish the show within the media franchise that it began. 18.01.2022 Joss Whedon Talks Casting James Spader In The Avengers Sequel He was my first and only choice for Ultron Unlike certain recent casting announcements (one of several controversial examples weve chronicled in a handy feature because were just that good to you), the news that James Spader will be playing malignant mechanoid Ultron in Avengers: Age Of Ultron was greeting largely positively despite the seemingly left-field choice. Joss Whedon has now explained to Marvels in h...ouse promo team why he picked the actor for the part. And its not because Spader threatened to send William Shatner round to sing in front of Josss house if he didnt get the role. "Spader was my first and only choice, is how Whedons quote puts it in the video. Hes got that hypnotic voice that can be eerily calm and compelling, but hes also very human and humorous. Ultron is not HAL. Spader can play all of the levels. Hes the guy to break the Avengers into pieces." There was apparently a maniacal laugh included in the statement, because thats just how Joss rolls. Ultron, in case you werent aware, is a threat torn from the pages of Marvel comic lore and given a spit-and-polish origin story (Ant-Man Hank Pym invented him originally, but it appears Robert Downey Jrs Tony Stark will accidentally create him in the Avengers sequel) for the big screen. Ultron is a criminally insane, sentient robot dedicated to conquest and the extermination of humanity. He comes loaded with several powers, including, strength, agility, stunning intelligence and, oh yes, a rage-filled loathing for our heroes and an intent to destroy them. Downey Jr. will be back alongside usual suspects Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and probably Scarlett Johansson, plus new recruit Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Avengers: Age Of Ultron is set to arrive here on May 1, 2015. In related Marvel movie news since the video also mentions new Thor: The Dark World posters there is a petition going to demand a solo Loki film. Currently, the campaign stands at more than 15,000 signatures, so if a Totally Tom movie is what you crave, perhaps you should consider adding your voice to the armys cry

Theres a Colonel Quaritch-shaped vacancy in Avatar 2 and Latino Reviews source thinks that the man that will be filling it is about 6 2", cigar-chomping and made from purest Austrian oak. According to the scuttlebutt, James Cameron is planning to reunite with Arnold Schwarzenegger, luring him to Pandora with a juicy role, not as the first of Mother Eywas Schwarzenavi, but the sequels human villain.... If its true, and Latino Review is usually reliable on such matters, it makes a whole lot of sense. Schwarzeneggers film career could use a bump after some recent box-office shockers and the prospect of another collaboration between the Terminator and True Lies pairing is enough to get the juices flowing. Besides, who doesnt want to see Dutch back in the jungle? Avatar 2, penned by War Of The Worlds Josh Friedman, is scheduled for production next year, so expect confirmation one way or the other in the near future. The sequel will hit screens in December 2016, to be followed a year later by a third instalment and a fourth in 2018.

16.01.2022 Amazing Spider-Man 3 Locks In Writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman & Jeff Pinkner will be back With the Amazing Spider-Man sequel set to hit cinemas next year, the producers are cracking on with plans for the third instalment, which already has a ticking clock release date of June 10, 2016 hanging over it. In the first official announcement for the movie, Sony has locked in Amazing Spider-Man 2 writing team Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner to crank out the script.... Securing the services of Orci and Kurtzman in particular was wise if only for scheduling reasons: despite their critics, theyre extraordinarily busy writing movies such as the third Star Trek film, producing other projects (Universals Mummy reboot among them) and overseeing TV shows. The trio, including Fringe colleague Pinkner, took on the writing of Amazing Spider-Man 2 by working from James Vanderbilts draft.

15.01.2022 Sony Pictures is in final negotiations for the rights to 1990s animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers with the intention to release a feature film adaptation produced by Mark Gordon, Don Murphy and Susan Montford. The original animated series, which aired from 1993 to 1996, focused on five teens from across the globe who were assigned magic rings that could summon different elements. When the five elements of Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and Heart were combined, Captai...n Planet would be summoned to bring all eco-terrorists to justice. The show featured a number of environmental issues with educational tags at the end of most episodes in the same vein as other animated series of the time, like G.I. Joe. The show had many well-known actors voice characters. Meg Ryan, Ed Asner, James Coburn, Martin Sheen and more voiced villains during the shows run, while LeVar Burton voiced Planeteer Kwame for the shows full tenure on the air. Captain Planet was previously considered for a film in the 90s and a live-action television series in the 2000s, but neither ever came to fruition. THR did not state whether the film was intended as a live-action or animated adaptation, but as humor has it, a live-action version is possible but only if Don Cheadle is playing Captain Planet.

13.01.2022 Ant-Man Moves To Summer 2015 Edgar Wrights Marvel hero shifts to an earlier release date Ant-Man is crawling over the calendar! Edgar Wrights planned adaptation of the Marvel Comics character which has been in the works for years now was originally due to arrive (in US cinemas, at least) on November 6, 2015. Now Hank Pym and co will be squatting in the summer, rubbing elbows with the other blockbusters on the prime real estate that is July 31, 2015.... Its a ballsy move by Marvel, especially since Warner Bros. has the Batman/Superman film set for July 17 across the pond that year; Marvel will be hoping that everyone flocks to that in the first two weeks and is ready for something different by the end of the month. So far, however, the only direct competition scheduled for the date itself is 20th Century Foxs Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children. The move points to Marvels confidence in the character and Wrights script, which hes worked on with Joe Cornish. It also tends to reinforce the current suspicion that Star Wars: Episode VII will be a Christmas release instead of trying to squeeze into one of the most crowded summer release schedules ever created. Disney alone also has The Avengers: Age Of Ultron (May 1), Pixars Inside Out (June 19) and the fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean (July 10) to think about. As for what, if anything, Disney/Marvel will put into November instead is anyones guess. Moving the tale of the scientist hero who develops a formula that allows him to change his size had the happy side effect of avoiding any competition with the next James Bond film, so perhaps theyll want to leave that space alone. Still, its good to know we wont have to wait quite as long for a new Edgar Wright film, even if it means more pressure on him to deliver it earlier. While the UK date has not yet been confirmed, we imagine it will be within a week or so of the US debut; possibly giving us a look a week early if Marvels form is anything to go by. Lets hope so.

13.01.2022 21 JUMP STREET SEQUEL REVEALS NEW PLOT DETAILS The final scene of Phil Lord and Chris Millers 21 Jump Street flat-out told us where main characters Jenko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) would be going in the sequel, Ice Cubes Captain Dickson informing the duo that their next undercover assignment would be at the local college. Since then, however, we havent heard any more details about the plot... that is, until now. In announcing that actress Amber Stevens has j...oined the cast of the 21 Jump Street sequel, 22 Jump Street, Variety has revealed the first semi-plot synopsis for the film: In the sequel to 21 Jump Street, officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) go deep undercover at a local college, but when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. While this does a good job of setting up whats happening with the central characters, whats missing are the details about the crime that Jenko and Schmidt are investigating. While the drug Holy F*****ng Shit (or H.F.S. for short) was basically a MacGuffin in the first movie, it still inspired some of the films funniest scenes - particularly the montage the two leads tripping balls: As for Stevens being a new addition to the cast, were not quite sure what role she will be playing, as the trade doesnt mention any details. In addition to Tatum, Hill and Ice Cube all reprising their roles from the first movie,its also been reported that actor Wyatt Russell is part of the cast as well. Given the youthful looks of both of the new additions we can probably assume that they will either be other cops in the Jump Street division or college students (but that doesnt exactly narrow it down). Stevens is best known for her television work, starring in the series Greek and appearing in episodes of shows like How I Met Your Mother, 90210 and Ben and Kate, but has started to get more into the movie scene. Last year she played a small role in Marc Webbs The Amazing Spider-Man, and shes completed production on Kevin Greuterts horror film Jessabelle, which also stars Mark Webber, Joelle Carter and Larisa Oleynik. Michael Bacall, who wrote the screenplay for the first 21 Jump Street based on a story he developed with Hill, wrote the original draft of the sequel before Oren Uziel was brought in for a rewrite. Sony has already slated the film for a June 13, 2014 release date, and production is expected to start at the end of this month.

12.01.2022 Chris Cooper Talks Norman Osborn And Spidey 3 Its safe to say hes on his last legs As it moves into its second instalment, Marc Webbs Spidey reboot will be careful not to overload the screen with villainy. It was a misstep Sam Raimis Spider-Man 3, host to every bad guy this side of the Hooded Claw and Simon Cowell, was justly accused of, but one that Sony will have learnt from. While, on that basis, were not expecting Norman Osborn (or the Green Goblin) to feature stro...ngly in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the man playing him, Chris Cooper, is gearing up for an expanded role in the third film. Talking at the Toronto International Film Festival, Cooper told ComingSoon.net that Spidey 2 will offer a foretaste of Osborn villainy to come. "This is an introduction to Norman Osborn," he explained. "Apparently this leads to better things in Spider-Man 3. I think its fair to say that hes on his last legs." Interesting stuff. Presumably, as CEO of Oscorp and the current Green Goblin, hell be grooming his son, Harry (Dane DeHaan), to take over both positions in the event of his death. So what of the real villain(s) of the piece? "Theres all these little fortune cookies around but the main villain is Electro," producer Avi Arad told Empire at this years Comic-Con, refusing to be drawn on the idea that the Sinister Six will appear. "Were not trying to make a big deal out of all of them, but they all have a reason to be the size they are." Clearly theres a long-term plan at work - a conveyor belt of baddies for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) to tackle in parts 3 and possibly 4 - and Coopers character is one of those waiting just over the horizon with claws sharpened. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be out on April 18, 2014 with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 following on May 27, 2016.

10.01.2022 New Loki Character Poster For Thor: The Dark World Tom Hiddlestons Loki is back for yet another shot of his very own, which you can see below. It looks for all the world like hes sneaking up on Thor, ready to do something terrible with that knife. Unless, that is, the post has just arrived and he just wants to open his latest issue of Sneaky Fiends Monthly. Interestingly, since this is a poster aimed at the German market, the title is Thor: The Dark Kingdom, which works almost as well as The Dark World. Wed be intrigued to know why its "Kingdom" in Germany a clash with some other property that features the title? Something to do with the translation?

10.01.2022 Kelsey Grammer Talks Transformers 4 On playing the villain in Age Of Extinction Its been a big week for Transformers 4. First came news of the Dinobots appearance in the fourth instalment, followed by an official announcement of the movies title: Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Somewhere in amongst that lot Empire managed to track down the films villain, Kelsey Grammer, to find out a little more about what the former Frasier Crane will be getting up to in Bayworld.... "Malevolent" is the word Grammer uses to describe his big bad, Harold Attinger. "Hes a no-nonsense guy," he told Empire. "Hes lived his life in the shadows for 30 years in the service of his country, and he likes to be unremarkable yet very efficient." What of his first collaboration with the ringmaster? "I dont know if Michael has seen Frasier," laughed Grammer. "Hes been very respectful and funny. Hes a terrific guy and quite a filmmaker. He just said to me the other day, Youre Kelsey Grammer - you can do whatever you want to do. So I guess he at least has some acquaintance with my work." So what would Frasier Crane make of all the Bayhem? "Well, you know what? I think he might find it offensive in some ways, but there was always a bit of Frasier that wasnt completely a snob. He always liked blowing up things, too, if he could! When he would discover his inner child, he would revel in it, and I think Transformers is one of those things." The next in the Transformers franchise is set four years after the invasion of Chicago seen in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. Alongside Grammer, Mark Wahlberg will play a struggling inventor and single father to Tessa (Nicola Peltz), who in turn is going out with race car driver Shane (Reynor). Sophia Myles, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Bingbing Li, Victoria Summer and Geng Han are also aboard.

09.01.2022 David Oyelowo Up For Star Wars Rebels Freddie Prinze Jr & more in talks Though the focus of everyones Star Wars interest is on Episode VII right now, the continuing small screen adventures for the sci-fi saga are still bubbling away. You might recall that news on TV toon Star Wars Rebels was first announced at the Star Wars Celebration back in July, and it appears that it has moved into the casting stage, with David Oyelowo and Freddie Prinze Jr among those said to be in ta...lks to lend their vocal talents to the show. Rebels will take the place of The Clone Wars, with that shows producer Dave Filoni having a hand in the new series. While we know it will be set somewhere between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, the exact time frame is being kept under wraps. The only other real detail confirmed is that itll follow a group of kids on the run from the Empire (no relation) in a presumably stolen ship. The Hollywood Reporter doesnt specify whom Oyelowo and Prinze will be playing, only that theyre locking down deals alongside voice-over veterans Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum. Oyelowos name cropped up recently in connection with that other Wars project too, on a list of rumored casting choices. Taking a role in Rebels that only requires his voice doesnt preclude him from landing something in Episode VII, though it does make us wonder if this was the meeting he took. In related Episode VII news, Den Of Geek dug up a casting call that appears to suggest that J.J. Abrams and co are on the hunt for a Wookie or even someone to take over playing Chewbacca? Surely not the latter! Of course, knowing how tricky Abrams could be, so this could all be an elaborate game

07.01.2022 Star Wars Spin-Offs Will Be Origin Stories Will Yoda be the first? Disneys chief financial officer Jay Rasulo gave a presentation to an investor conference at the Bank Of America yesterday. While much of it - as youd expect given the context - is dispiriting marketing speak about branding, merchandising and licensing opportunities, there was also one small but significant piece of intel about the new Star Wars films. Weve known for some time that standalone films about fam...ous suporting characters are in development alongside the trilogy beginning with Star Wars Episode VII. Now Rasulo reveals that those standalone films will be origin stories. Reaffirming that we can expect a Star Wars every year from 2015 on, Rasulos wording (only paraphrased by Variety) was that Disney will be alternating a trilogy film and "an origin story" annually. If you were an investor, youd be reassured that that strategy sits alongside two Marvels, a Disney animation, and one or two Pixars. Following The Lone Ranger debacle he says that budgets for each years "one or two, maybe three" tentpole Disney live-action originals will likely be capped in future. But "of all our worries," he promises, "Star Wars is not one of them". "The skys the limit," says Rasulo of Star Wars. "Theres incredible flexibility. Its an unbelievable palette to create from." And while hes talking there about licensing programmes that will "broker deals around the world" and encompass toys, "housewares" and huge new undertakings in Disneys theme parks, he does take a moment to insist that "the overall strategy is to put out a great film first". Foxs attempt at its own Origins franchise with Marvels X-Men collapsed at the first hurdle with the 2009 Wolverine movie. But with Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan and producer Simon Kinberg developing their spin-off, Disney clearly have confidence in the plan. Back in February, AICNs Harry Knowles believed he had a reliable source telling him the first Star Wars standalone would center on Yoda. If that were true, it would mean we can expect Star Wars Origins: Yoda in 2016. So well see...

06.01.2022 The Batman script posted on Beibers instagram account is a Phony. The singer posted a photo of himself Friday night with a script for Batman VS. Superman, written by David S. Goyer and Zack Snyder. The cover page features a "Bieber" watermark, as if the script were meant specifically for him. Biebers photo was liked more than 346,000 just four hours after being posted, and sparked a number of comments from distressed Batman fans, with one young woman declaring "Batman would ...be ruined forever" and others wondering if the teen star would play Robin. But not so fast, Bat-fans. Bieber tweeted earlier Friday that he was doing some work with Funny or Die, so perhaps the phony script had something do with that.

06.01.2022 NBC Planning Constantine As A TV Series David Goyer and Daniel Cerone writing pilot While DC has so far struggled to make a big-screen impact beyond Superman and Batman, its consistently had more success with episodic television. Smallville (Superman) gave way to Arrow (Green Arrow), which is soon to be joined by The Flash and the pre-Batman Gotham, about Commissioner Gordon and the Gotham PD. Not only was his performance in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy considered by many to be the best on-screen portrayal of the character, many fans hoped that his version of the character would carry over to the upcoming Man... of Steel sequel/Batman vs. Superman film. And now, thanks to the above video courtesy of Batman-News.com, we have our first look at what could possibly be Bale's first time wearing the Batsuit... and it happened to be the one that Val Kilmer wore when he played the superhero in Batman Forever. As the source notes, this clip comes from the documentary "The Fire Rises: The Creation and Impact of The Dark Knight Trilogy," which is one of the speicial features that comes with the brand new Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu-ray box set that will be hitting shelves tomorrow. While the full doc is actually 76-minutes long, this tiny one-and-a-half minute clip alone is packed with tons of information, from the fact that Amy Adams stood in as Rachel Dawes during the Batman Begins auditioning process (she would later go on to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel) to the reveal that it was Bale's voice as Batman that helped him win the part.

04.01.2022 Will Smith In Talks For Independence Day Sequel? Roland Emmerich also plotting more Stargate Theres been talk of sequels to Independence Day for years now. Back in March director Roland Emmerich confirmed that he was continuing to work on a pair of new instalments, tentatively titled ID Forever. In June that was back-pedalled to a single film, and while the word on the street was that Bill Pullman was keen to return, Emmerich seemed to think that Will Smiths involvement was... unlikely. Too big and too expensive seemed to be the reason for Smiths absence, but perhaps in the wake of the After Earth disappointment that has changed. While its far from a done deal, Emmerich now says that talks with Smith are now on the horizon again. "Its changing every month," Emmerich told Digital Spy. "To put a sequel together of that magnitude is an enormous undertaking. Ive been saying that Will Smith isnt going to be in it because he didnt want to do it, but now we have a meeting planned where were going to talk about it again. So anything can happen!" He says with or without Smith, "for sure" the film will either be ready for 2015, or more probably 2016. Thats not the only example of Emmerich revisiting past glories. In the same interview he reveals that hes looking into more adventures in the Stargate universe. "Stargate was originally planned as a trilogy," says the director, but with years of television now to be considered canon, an immediate sequel to the movie is no longer tenable. With the franchise now dormant however, Emmerich says he "went to MGM, who now has the rights, and proposed a movie reboot" intended as the first of three. "Pretty soon," he says, "well look for a writer and start..."

03.01.2022 Harrison Ford shocks Indonesian minister with heated climate interview. Indonesias forestry minister has accused Hollywood star Harrison Ford of subjecting him to a rude interview on climate change that left him "shocked", an official said. The Indiana Jones and Star Wars actor, who is making part of an environmental documentary in Indonesia, attacked the minister with questions during the encounter on Monday, presidential adviser Andi Arief said.... The adviser accused Ford and his crew of "harassing state institutions" and said the 71-year-old could even be deported - although he was due to leave Indonesia later on Tuesday anyway. Forestry minister Zulkifli Hasan told reporters that he had been angered by Fords approach during the interview in Jakarta. "His emotions were running very high," the minister was quoted as saying by the state-run Antara news agency. "I understand the American man just came here to see Tesso Nilo (a national park on Sumatra island) and wanted violators to be caught the same day." The minister added he was not given the chance to explain the challenges of catching people who break the law in Indonesias sprawling rainforests, where illegal logging is rampant. "I was only given the opportunity to say one or two sentences during the interview," he said. Mr Arief said the minister thought there would have been some time to discuss the interview before it began. But in the event he was "shocked that as soon as his (Fords) crew came in, they started filming and interviewing him... and attacking him with questions". "Theres no privilege for him although he is a great a actor," he said. "His crew and those who were helping him in Indonesia must be questioned to find out their motives for harassing a state institution. "If necessary, we will deport him." Ford, who has supported numerous environmental causes in recent years, has travelled to several places in Indonesia to make part of a series on climate change called Years of Living Dangerously for US television network Showtime. He also met president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday. As south-east Asias largest economy grows rapidly, swathes of biodiverse forests across the archipelago of 17,000 islands have been cleared to make way for paper and palm oil plantations, as well as for mining and agriculture.

News is just in that J. K. Rowling is working on a new movie set in the world of Harry Potter, her first screenplay and a possible launchpad for a whole Potter-ish franchise.... The film, which will be based on Rowlings (officially, Magizoologist Newt Scamanders) universe-expanding Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, will be set in the wizarding world. It will feature creatures and characters - some new, some already familiar to Potter fans - and, promises Rowling, will be "neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world" set 70 years before Harry Potter sets foot in Hogwarts. That puts it somewhere around 1921, when Scamander would have been about 24 according to in-world chronology. "It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning Fantastic Beasts into a film," Rowling explained in a statement. "I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of Fantastic Beasts, realised by another writer was difficult. Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hardcore Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood."
