25.01.2022 Team work makes the dream work #teamwork #couples #worktogether #movvestrong #movvewell #movveforever

24.01.2022 Last night we were lucky enough to have Bec and Will come in and host a breath workshop and ice bath experience for our Your Movve 2.0 project participants. These Whim Hoff nerds took our crew through some breath work, goal setting, visualization and gratitude exercises. We finished by using that breath work in a 1 degree ice bath. ... Your fear is made up in your minds, the only REAL fear humans have built in, is a fear of falling and loud noises, the rest is legitimately fears that we make up in our minds and carry around with us. Conquer your mind and you'll conquer the world.

24.01.2022 M O V V E R O F T H E M O N T H Congrats to Elisha for being our VIP Movver for September Elisha had been sitting on the fence about joining for a while, she had heard about us through a friend who had been getting epic results here with us, finally she took the dive and jumped in with us! ... Elisha has lost over 20kgs since the start of the year (not all with us, we can't take the credit for it all) from changing her diet, getting moving and the biggest so far - her mindset shift - or mindflex as we call it. Listening to podcasts, finishing her enrolled nursing coarse soon, coming consistently to the gym, making the most of what she can when she can, even trying a 72 hour fast! Elisha has really stepped up her game and we are pretty pumped to see what she has achieved in such a short time! Thanks for deciding to join the tribe, you are an absolute legend Enjoy your @lavishbeauty26 facial and massage, gold special car wash @nambourautowash and the VIP park right out the front door, you deserve it. Keep doing you See more

22.01.2022 You hear us banging on all the time about how your training should serve you a purpose, more than just losing some fat, but more preparing you for life, everything life could throw at you. If you come to the gym and do a hiit session just for the pure purpose of burning off some shit you ate, hi five to you - but good luck with the shoulder injury you'll sustain from the 20 push ups, that they don't care what your technique looks like, while you are crammed in like sardin...es in the room. If you are coming to the gym to move your body with the intention of living a strong, able, fit and injury free life and eat to support the same goals, then you are on the money, the fat loss will come, the muscle toning will come. Our client here was training for what ever life threw at her and that happened to be a set of twins!!! Thank god for the vision she had to be strong AF, developing good foundations and more. What are you preparing yourself for? Does your training align with that? #movvestrong #movvewell #movveforever See more

22.01.2022 Some blokes don't want to come train at Movve with their wives or ladies because they are trying to "bulk up" or build muscle...Here's some fun facts - Your food intake will be one of the main factors to your weight-loss or gain - so just make sure you eat enough - and ensure the correct macro nutrients are being consumed (we can help you with this) - the back bone of any strength training program is your prime mover exercises, we train these, we don't program 1 joint ...movements as our main exercise, you'll recruit more muscle groups to move the weight, which simulates real life movements more than say a bicep curl, and in turn will develop more strength and more muscle mass. Chin ups/pull ups, deadlifts, squats and bench press are the back bone of our programming followed by the accessory work to support it. (if you are unsure of your movements or rep range, we can help you with this) - Training heavy will help you build the muscle mass you want. Heavy lifts completed safely will help you develop strength in the concentric and eccentric phase, causing more muscle tears and re-build which equals muscle growth. Things like tempo'd lifts help create a different stimulus again (we can help you with this) - you can't go hard everyday, your muscles need time to recover and grow. Your body should move everyday, but not to complete exhaustion everyday. (we can help you maintain this) - grab your self a clean protein supplement (if you are struggling to get it from your food) and source the rest of your food from whole foods, the less processed crap the better. This might mean you will have to eat more frequently, but the bulk will be a "clean bulk" meaning good lean muscle mass development and less body fat gained. (we can help you with this) - having a good program that you can scale to suit your goals is important, having a good coach to support you is important too. Testing your performance and getting measurements such as a body fat scan, calculating your muscle number etc, will help you set goals and gauge results (we can help you with this) Our mens strength club starts first week of October email Jake at [email protected] or message us direct. 21.01.2022 [ YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON YOUR HEALTH] Bet you hear it all the time... But do you really listen and absorb it for all that it is? ... What's a reasonable price for good coaching? Training, motivation, accountability, results, reduced risk of diabetes and cancer, reduced risks of injuries, the benefits list goes on. What's fair and reasonable, that you would be willing to pay... Let's just isolate a few here, say you decide to go to a conventional 24 hour gym because you don't really honestly value yourself that much - you invest a whole $15 a week on your health and a whole $150 a week on alcohol and junk food, thats all before lunch time Saturday... So you are investing more into increasing your risk of lifestyle disease and conditions, obesity and injuries than you are investing in benefiting your health. Then your joints and body are so full of inflammation and your general conditioning is low, you are heavy and holding weight where you shouldn't, you are weak and run down from all the crap your body is trying to process and then you injure yourself. Let's use the lower back for example , pretty common. You injure your lower back doing something ridiculous like picking up a sock off the floor... then you spend time away from work ( ) You have to see a physio ( ) see the doctors ( ) get massage ( ) even some chiro ( ) you spend time "resting and recovering" from your ridiculous injury away from friends and family and you find yourself in a shitty mind-state, cus you value alcohol, junk food and a sedentary lifestyle over living a healthy, active and ABLE life, able to pick up the sock without rupturing your lower back. So are you going to use the preventative measures of engaging a good coach who can educate you and empower you to take control of your health and well being, or just drive your body and mental health into a hole and then pay up the wall in medical bills to get yourself out of it? the choice is yours... #movvestrong #movvewell #movveforever See more

18.01.2022 Are you thinking about conceiving in the next 12 months? If so, what are you doing to help prepare your body for the amazing journey ahead? What you do to your body the 12 month prior to actually falling pregnant can either help or hinder your pregnancy and birthing experience. Everything from the drinks you consume to the exercise that you do (or don’t do) can have an effect. ... Ensuring that you are nourishing your body with wholesome nutritious foods and moving your body daily can increase your fertility and help realise the feel-good endorphins which can help you feel more relaxed at this time in your life. It is also safe to continue exercising for the duration of your pregnancy (depending on how you are feeling/morning sickness) Here is Hannah training at 34 weeks pregnant. Hannah started training with us here at Movve well over 12 months ago knowing that her and her partner were thinking about having baby number 2 in the near future. Hannah set her goals and has continued to train (even through ISO) in group sessions and one on one PTs and is feeling more prepared physically and mentally going into this birth than she did with her first. 12.01.2022 [ Self Care Isn't Selfish ] we promise you it isn't, cross our hearts! If you think of it this way right, there is 4 cups - one is you and you are full to the brim. ... Th 2 other cups is your significant parts of your life, say one is your partner and the other one is your kids. The 4th cup is your self care and nourishment and rest cup and it's like half full right. You pour from your cup into your partner and kids cup, you pour in love, you pour in care, you pour in energy caring for them - doing their washing - dropping them to kindy - dropping them to school - preparing their clothes for work etc etc, then you pour some respect into their cups along with a multitude of amazing things you pour into the people and spaces and parts of your life you love. Then you go about your day without anything getting poured into your self care and nourishment cup... come about lunch time, your are feeling flat and drained (cus you poured lots out of your cup) So you use a bit of your nourishment cup to top you up a little bit, but not alot, cus their isn't much in their, cus nothing has been poured in there in a looooonnnnnnggg time. You continue this for say 3-4 weeks (or longer depending on your ability to ration) and then all of a sudden, your cup is empty, you can't pour anything into the ones and spaces you love and your nourishment cup is empty cus you have been neglecting it alot lately, so then you have nothing left... So can you see how making sure you work on nourishing yourself, taking care of yourself and having some rest can help you better support the ones and spaces in your life that you love? what do you need to do more of to ensure your nourishment and self care cup stays full? 10.01.2022 The importance of Breath! Breathing. Breathe in. Breathe Out. Repeat. ... It's something we do all day without even thinking about right?! When was the last time you took some deep breaths? Or even just A deep breath?! There are so many benefits of deep breathing and breathing correctly during exercise. Taking a small amount of time out of your day just to focus on your breathe, laying down or sit quietly just to focus purely on your breathing can help: Reduce anxiety Improve mental clarity Lowers blood pressure Stimulates the lymphatic system Increase energy And so much more!! When exercising it is important to remember BREATH!!! When breathing through exercise you should be using the muscle that extends across the bottom of our chest cavity (the diaphragm). Breathing from the diaphragm (instead of your chest) will allow you to get deep, full breaths that will fill your lungs with the oxygen your body needs when exercising. Breathing during exercise can vary depending on the movement you are performing - ie; breathing out when you resist ( of lift) weight and inhaling as you relax in to starting position - taking deep breaths in can help stabilise muscles of your abdomen, back and sides (core muscles) and protect your spine during exertion. Whereas other movements performed may require you to breath in on the resistance and out on the release. Benefits of breathing correctly during exercise: Exercising more comfortably, safely and for longer periods Prevents injuries such as hernias, spikes in blood pressure/strain on the blood vessels and back pain Increases blood flow throughout the body Increases your ability to relax When was the last time you took some time to just BREATHE See more
