24.01.2022 Painting plein air at Kynton Botanic Gardens last weekend with the Victorian Artists Society Paintout Group. I learned a valuable lesson. After spending ages on... this carefully thought out painting of the autumn colours, I washed my brushes and packed up to leave. Then I spotted a great scene behind me so I dashed out a crazy one in half an hour. 10.01.2022 Walking on the beach, we could see something away in the distance. As we approached, it became clear that it was an abandoned fishing boat washed up on the sand. It had obviously been there for some time as it had seaweed hanging off the railings and rust running from the fittings. I couldn’t help wondering what stories it could tell. What adventures had it experienced? What had happened to it? A painting just needing to be done. ‘Fishing Boat Wreck’ is that painting.
