20.01.2022 On behalf of the MWFNC committee, I am delighted to announce that the Number One ticket holder for the season 2020 is Les Bright. This was going to be announced at our first home game at Willaura but due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19, this has been unable to eventuate. Before I speak about Les Bright, I would like to acknowledge Martin Flanagan who has held the Number One ticket holder for several years and remains a staunch supporter of our club. On speaking wi...th Martin about the committee’s decision, Martin was more than happy with his successor. Les Bright is a farmer who started timekeeping for his beloved hometown of Willaura in 1978. This continued until his retirement in 2016. Les and his late wife Lil were invaluable supporters of their club and were known for cooking the BBQ and working tirelessly in the canteen. Les can still be found assisting with the gate or timekeeping the kids games. Les was timekeeper for approximately 700 senior football games, missing only 6 in the 41 years. He has used the same loved time clock for this whole time. Les has enjoyed all aspects of the football/ netball club with a special interest in our up and coming stars. When we talk about our club, Les typifies what we want to encourage and promote within our teams. Loyalty, commitment and passion! See more

07.01.2022 Willaura netballers and tennis players now have access to vastly improved facilities at the Willaura Recreation Reserve. 2The Willaura community successfully applied for $117,272 from the 2018 Pick My Project grants scheme, allowing a makeover of the counts. The old tennis courts have been converted into a multi-purpose facility that accommodates both tennis and netball. Three tennis courts and two netball courts have been marked out on a new asphalt surface along with new sh...elters, perimeter fencing and lighting. Moyston Willaura Football Netball ClubCommittee Member, Kelly Evans, said the new courts were a vast improvement on the previous facilities. Local netball is currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions. See more
