07.01.2022 Did you hear the announcement on Wednesday? The architect for MPavilion 2021 is MAP studio (Venice), and we couldn't be more excited! A work more than two years in the making, the upcoming MPavilion by MAP studio (Venice) was originally slated for construction in 2020, with progress being postponed as the world responded to the COVID-19 crisis. But now, after wrapping our logistically flexible 2020 season, MPavilion can recommence work with MAP studio to bring its pavilion t...o fruition. MAP studio is led by Francesco Magnani and Traudy Pelzel, two architects who have led their team in a number of significant projects, including the refurbishment of greenhouses in Querini Park, Vincenza, the outfitting of the National Museum of Musical Instruments, Rome, and the restoration of Carlo Scarpa’s Balboni House, Venice. MAP studio's award-winning works include the renovation of the Porta Nuova Tower in the Venice Arsenale, its restoration of a Ferrara Farmhouse, and its development of the Tramway Terminal in Piazzale Roma, Venice. The practice has also exhibited work at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, and was celebrated for its Asplund Pavilion at Vatican Chapelsthe first pavilion of the Holy See at the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture. Design and build details of MAP studio's MPavilion will be revealed in July 2021, but for now, you can read more about MAP studio on our website - https://mpavilion.org/architect/ #MAPstudio #MPavilion2021
