At this stage we will only have one thing to celebrate and that is our hotdoggies back with strongest numbers and teams seen in some time.... Reality cannot be said the same for our mens sides. There is potential for this squad under Jake McDonald & Nathan Heffernan but we need more players.. we need you! It is now or never. Please come to training this Tuesday and out your hand up and join the pack! Bulldogs 40th year... is this really how we want to celebrate and remember?? Please share!

18.01.2022 The Group 16 clubs and Board of Directors held a telephone conference General Meeting on Sunday 19th April to discuss the likelihood of a Group 16 senior competition for 2020. The outcome of that meeting in regards to a possible Competition for 2020 was as follows. Subject to all Federal and State Government regulations and restrictions in regard to social distancing and isolation requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic and further subject to any direction from our gove...rning body the NSWRL , Group 16 clubs passed a motion to hold a proposed 10 round competition and a further 4 weeks of Semi Finals and Finals commencing on the weekend of the 4th/5th July with a Grand Final date of 27th September, 2020. Group 16 will hold a further club meeting on 24th May, 2020 to further discuss and look at the social distancing and isolation regulations that will be in place at that time and to assess if there has been any easing of such restrictions that would enable us to conduct a competition in some format in Group 16. The meeting acknowledges that the safety, health and well being of all persons involved in the game at our local level would and will be at the forefront of any further decisions made.

17.01.2022 We have been receiving a lot of messages and phone calls regarding tickets to the Parramatta V Penrith trial, the only way you can buy tickets is via the Ticket...ec website, at this current time there are no plans to sell them at the gate, or anywhere else. There are still tickets available, we checked the website this morning, however if you try and buy more then one it comes up with a message saying there aren’t enough tickets, if you selected 1 ticket you could get through at that time, this may be a glitch with the website we are unsure. The event is being run by the NRL NOT Group 16 and therefor we have no control over ticket numbers, allocations or where and how they are being sold. Should you have any problems your best option is to contact the NRL directly or Ticketec for any ticketing problems. We apologize for any inconvenience but this is out of our hands, although it is definitely shaping up to be an awesome event. See more

14.01.2022 A message from NSW Rugby League.. NSWRL has met with medical authorities, government agencies and other sporting bodies and a media release from our CEO will be forthcoming tomorrow. Currently all events involving more than 3 clubs and 500 people have been cancelled in alignment with the Government’s wishes. Effective immediately all clubs are to cease team training. Further advice on the resumption of training will be forwarded when containment of the pandemic virus meets Go...vernment and NSWRL’s expectations. Please don’t make any decisions about your clubs participation in trials and competitions until after tomorrows media release. So until further notice there will be no senior bulldogs training. After tomorrow's media release we will come up with a direction and plan moving forward and keep our players, sponsors & supporters up to date. Any questions or concern please contact us.

10.01.2022 Group 16 senior and minor rugby league are calling on volunteers. Chairman of the senior board Allan Wilton is urging for anyone who can help, to reach out to h...elp shore up both competitions moving forward. There has never been a more important time to help get Community Rugby League back up and running again with both the Group 16 Senior Rugby League and Group 16 Minor Rugby League competitions asking everyone to help by volunteering and uniting to assist at their local clubs Mr Wilton said. Now is the time for our volunteers to help and support our local communities and local rugby league clubs and sport across the region. Me Wilton said there was ongoing support from enormously valued volunteers in the area, many of whom have given years of service to their respective clubs. He said many had given 30 or 40 years of commitment and had been acknowledged with life memberships. And we need more volunteers to keep the sport going locally He said. The more volunteers we can recruit the stronger our sport will be in future years. In a majority of cases our volunteers are aligned to their family’s involvement in the game and in many cases these volunteers leave the game as their family members grow older and leave the game. Mr Wilton said a number of the volunteers, particularly in the senior competition were ‘older in age’ and their vulnerability to the COVID-19 pandemic played a large role in the concerns of moving forward with a season. Mr Wilton said safety and health of volunteers was of utmost importance and Group 16 was working with NSWRL to provide COVID-19 training for volunteers. To further support our volunteers and players each individual club in Group 16 are required to submit safety plans for grounds before training commences and these plans are required to meet NSWRL and NSW Department of Health standards before approved. He said those plans will ensure that as competition goes ahead there will be the safest environment for players, volunteers and spectators. A value on the volunteers’ contribution to our sport at grassroots level just cannot be measured, Mr Wilton said. They are the people that make the game go ahead and without their priceless commitment and contribution we just don’t have a game locally. Sporting opportunities would be fewer without volunteer efforts, Mr Wilton said People wanting to volunteer don’t have to have a background and knowledge of the game of rugby league In many cases it is the routine weekly tasks of setting up, packing up, assisting in the canteens or helping on the barbecue that require help, he said. With minor league to resume on July 18, Mr Wilton said a boost to volunteer numbers was critical and urged everyone to help where they can. See more

08.01.2022 A Long weekend, confined to home, no Rugby League on TV, that should be more illegal then gathering together in a public place is at the moment. After our post ...asking about the greatest players to have played in Group 16 this team arrived in our inbox. There is some excellent talent depicted here, and a few good names have missed out also. It got us too thinking what would be the best 17 for each of our clubs. List them 1-17 who are the best 17 players in each position to have worn your club colours. Make sure you put the (c) on someone and name a coach as well, or could be a (c/c). Can’t wait to see the sides. See more

07.01.2022 The Group 16 Senior Rugby League Clubs at its General Meeting last night (Wednesday 10th June) voted to suspend the Group 16 Senior Competition for Season 2020.... All Senior Clubs acknowledged the extreme hardships that have been placed on our communities and businesses over the past 12 months because of the drought, the bush fires and now the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions. The decision made took into consideration also for the health, safety and well being of our communities, players, officials, volunteers and supporters. The delegates from each club further considered the financial impact the drought, bush fires and COVID-19 Pandemic has had all our local businesses, communities and sponsors which would make it difficult for Senior Rugby League Clubs to be financially viable for season 2020. The Clubs and Group 16 Board will now work together to continue the Under 18 Competition and are working in partnership with the Group 16 Minor League to include the Under 18s Competition to be played the remainder of this season after the Under 16s on saturdays. It is important to all clubs to retain and build the Under 18s Competition this season and support this initiative. Senior Clubs and Official are asked to support the Group 16 Minor League Competition in every possible way to ensure are younger players continue to play Rugby League in 2020. The Group 16 Board and all Clubs are committed to working hard to ensure the Senior Competition returns in an even stronger position next season 2021. Allan Wilton Chairman. Group 16 Rugby League.

04.01.2022 Last night MPB held their AGM with one of the strongest turnouts we have had in recent years, with a strong player representation in attendance. We are pleased to announce the following positions have been filled: President: Frank Davey Vice President: Paul McGuire and Mark Moses... Treasurer: Jill Overend and Noel Fitzpatrick Congratulations to our executive! We currently have 3 spots that are still vacant and eager to fill; secretary, covid officer and registrar. Although this roles do sound full on when explained are not that at all. Secretary- the main person for communication. You are expected to attend all committee meetings but not group meetings. COVID Officer- mainly required on home game days (most home games are usually 6) and overseeing that players and supporters are following our Covid Safe Plan. You will have assistance from players on home game days. All committee members are COVID trained by NSWRL Registrar- most busiest time for a registrar is pre-season ensuring all registrations are complete. This has now become a very straight forward task since the introduction of Mysideline. We have a trained registrar ready to assist and train you up. You will be required to be available on home game days (most home games is usually 6) If any of these positions sound like you please get in touch with us. This is a wonderful club and committee that just needs that bit more help in preparing for next year. Great things are coming for the dogs!
04.01.2022 Even though the senior competition has been rested for season 2020, in the interests of keeping our younger players in the game and ensuring the future remains ...bright for years to come, we are making an effort to keep the U/18's competition going. The proposal is to play on Saturday's after the U/16's. All 17 and 18 year old players who are still keen to play are urged to make contact with their clubs to express their interest, to guarantee this will go ahead. See more
