27.01.2022 This guys and I will be out of the office this week on our annual Christmas jaunt to @thelanghammelbourne. We feast @kokoblack, check in on the big guy @myermelbourne, see the lights, hang out at @thestoreofrequirement, solve puzzles over breakfast, swim every day, do the City Treasure Hunt and generally enjoy each others company. One thing we DON'T do is any Christmas Shopping. #bliss #experiencesoverpossessions #minimalistchristmas #merrymerry
25.01.2022 "OMG. Best celebrant ever! We liked her as soon as we met her (and not just because she gave us wine!) and I totally chilled out as soon as we booked her - she took care of every single detail and thought of everything for us. The ceremony was so 'us' that people thought she must be our friend and were surprised when we told them we'd only known her for 6 weeks!" ...Renae (and Stephan) | Seawinds Arthurs Seat
25.01.2022 Because love means standing by your man in a zombie apocalypse... Lauren & Dylan opted for a traditional Asking and then mixed it up with their own fun vows and simplified ring exchange... THE ASKING... Laura and Dylan, do you choose to share your lives together in marriage? Do you promise to tread the same path from this day forward, wherever it may lead? Will you be mindful and supportive of each other every day? Will you be gracious and generous in the giving of yourself to advance your marriage? Do you commit your friendship, your loyalty and your love as long as you both shall live? Both - We do VOWS & RING EXCHANGE DYLAN'S VOWS Laura, from the moment I met you, you had me fixated, we had nothing in common but somehow I knew it could work. You are the most amazing person I’ve ever met and I adore the fact you’re the only person willing to put up with me for so long. I love that you argue with me without any knowledge of the argument we are having. I love that we only fight over what to have for dinner and nothing else. I love that when I say I’ll be home from jays at 8 but I get home at 11, you’re never mad. I promise to receive your icy cold feet in bed even though I die a little inside when they are placed against me. I promise to walk into our perfectly clean home and somehow make a mess in a matter of minutes. I promise to bring out the best in you because you definitely bring out the best in me. I promise you to love, cherish and support you for the rest of our life. I cannot see a future without you in it and I promise to be the exact husband you expect I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Dylan, take you, Laura, to be my loyal wedded wife. With this ring I join my life with yours LAURA'S VOWS Dylan, you are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. You make me laugh, you are kind, caring and you make me happy. I love the times we just chill at home and make up our own fun. Whether its chasing each other around the house, filming our crazy fur babies do stupid things, or just lay in bed and talk crap for most of the night. I cant wait to continue building our lives together, whether its in Muzza B or somewhere else. I promise to stand by you through the good times and the bad. Forever an always in a Zombie apocalypse. I promise to laugh with you and most definitely at you. I promise to always respect your choice in music in your car, but in my car however is a different story. I promise to be the very best wifey. I love you with all my heart and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you (...sucker) I call upon the persons here present to witness that I Laura, take you, Dylan to be my loyal wedded husband. With this ring I join my life with yours
24.01.2022 I don’t even know where to start with Naomi. She was great from the get go. First impressions very chill and knew exactly what we wanted and asked questions to find out exactly what we wanted the day to be like. Naomi provided great tips for our asking questions and vows and also gave us a push when we needed it. She kept us up to date with things we hadn’t even thought about. Naomi was available face to face, through FaceTime, text or phone call. She is very good at what she does and it shows. We are happy that we chose her and also glad we were her first male couple to marry. She even threw in a nice bottle of champagne for us on the special day. Highly recommended. Thanks Naomi xx - Joel & Kyle, Portsea Mecure, Portsea
24.01.2022 Naomi is amazing! We had trust in her from the beginning due to her professionalism and excellent organisational skills (which mirrored how we like to work). We knew what to expect every step of the way and her thoughtful feedback on our first ceremony draft helped us to make a few changes to make it even more special. Having total editorial control, plus a money-back guarantee, meant we knew that the words spoken on our wedding day were going to reflect our story, our feelin...gs and the atmosphere we wanted to create with our guests. Many of our family and friends have commented on how impressed they were with Naomi and with the ceremony. She confidently handled all 12 kids in the room to help them feel included and encouraged them to pay quiet attention during the ceremony. I have already recommended Naomi to a close friend of mine who’s getting married soon and would recommend her to anyone. She really is that great! - Monica & John, Docklands

22.01.2022 The 4 Most Dangerous Words in Wedding Planning Have you ever seen a bride push her parents aside at the top of the aisle and dance down it to a banging Chemical Brothers tune? I have.... (Props to Denise! ) And it was so memorable that I am here telling you about it 6 years and hundreds of weddings later... The audience all started clapping to the beat and there was a huuuuge roaring cheer when she finally made it to Jordan, her groom, who was crying tears of adoration. It's moments like these that create enduring memories - and elevate that wedding forever in your memory. It wasn't how Denise looked (which was amazing by the way - see the pic), it was how that bit of individuality made everyone feel... She set that wedding on fire, right from the moment she entered. She whipped everyone into a collective good mood and got that party started. But it might never have happened... If Denise had given in to those four dangerous little words that can derail your wedding plans (and blow your budget). Those words are; drumroll... "What will people think?" The reality is, no one cares about YOUR wedding as much as YOU. So letting words like "what will people think" creep into your consciousness will have you filled with self doubt and you'll be second guessing all of your decisions. Be like Denise. Be brave enough to make YOUR wedding decisions for YOU. Are we friends yet? Follow me for more wedding truths #australianweddinginspo #australianbride #australianwedding #australianweddings See more

21.01.2022 Loren and Troy crafted their own Asking, Vows and Ring Exchange in what is a pretty perfect sample of modern Australian vows; from the heart, with a touch of humour... THE ASKING Troy, will you take Loren to be your wife? Will you honour her, love, respect and protect her? Will you accept her for who she is and who she will be, regardless the number of spreadsheets and to do lists she may have? Do you aspire to nurture her and help her grow as an individual? Will you be hones...t with her and stand beside her no matter what may come your way - even when Essendon loses? Troy - I will Loren, do you take Troy be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you promise to share all life has to offer, your hopes and dreams, your achievements and disappointments with him from this day forward? Loren - I will VOWS TROY - Loren, you’ve captivated me, challenged me, frustrated me and improved me in ways no person has done before, even when I'm stubborn, even while I'm watching the footy, or cricket, or anything on the TV really... You are my best friend, and I will love you always. LOREN - Troy, I’m glad you weren’t travelling over Anzac weekend 3 years ago, otherwise I would not have met the person who changed my life completely. I promise to love and respect you, to be true to you, to encourage you through life’s ups and downs, to accept you for who you are and not try to change you - unless it’s for the better. Thank you for enriching my life in so many ways by sharing yours with me. I feel incredibly lucky to have you in my life and I am so excited to spend the rest of our days together. I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Loren, take you, Troy, to be my lawful wedded husband. 21.01.2022 "We loved having Naomi be a part of our wedding. She took the time to understand what kind of people we are and what we wanted and created a simple and elegant ceremony for us that I didn't even imagine was possible. We were able to strip out all the fussy traditions that made me uncomfortable and have beautiful simple ceremony that was just about us." ...Nivea (and Scott) | Royal Botanic Gardens

19.01.2022 I stumbled across Naomi in my extensive search of finding the perfect celebrant for my now husband and I - and boy am I glad I did! Naomi far exceeded my expectations of what she would be delivering - she was very personable, refreshing and engaged with our guests in a manner that even had them commenting and complimenting on what a great job she did. She went above and beyond her routine duties by way of calming my nerves before the ceremony and was even taking photos of the back of my wedding dress to assure me that it looked perfect, etc. My husband and I cannot thank Naomi enough for her friendly yet professional demeanour. If you are in search of a celebrant who oozes an approachable and fresh approach to a modern wedding then look no further, Naomi is your girl. - Bek & Haydn, Norwood House, Mt Eliza
18.01.2022 If you want a Celebrant that is professional, caring, intuitive and will make your special day just perfect then Naomi is the one. With a few visits, a few questionnaires she drew out the essence of our relationship and wove the contents into the most perfectly presented wedding ceremony. Naomi is a beautifully sensitive person who will capture your guests hearts. She understand and respects your requirements and needs and is open to developing the ceremony the way you need.... I could not recommend a celebrant more highly. Vikki and I were so over the moon with our ceremony. If there were more stars to allocate a couple more would not fully describe the way we feel. ...Peter (and Vikki) | The Baths Sorrento

11.01.2022 "Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwought us together..last week. And wuv, twue wuv, was perfectwy captuwed by Naomi. Yes, being a huge fan of the Princess Bride, when my then-fiancée asked Naomi if she would be ok to open the ceremony with Peter Cooke's famous lines, the answer was a resounding, "as you wish". And Naomi nailed it. Even once we had moved past that and into the actual ceremony, she managed to keep the crowd engaged, as well as appropriately laughing and all saying ..."awwww" together. And we're not even that funny or cute a couple, so I was impressed (just kidding, of course we are). Every meeting we had with Naomi kept us laughing, and we looked forward to each one. She made us feel comfortable, catered to all our unique requests, and made this as easy as she could. Honestly, I'm considering getting married again just to be able to use Naomi again. All said and done, we are so happy to have been married by Naomi. She was utterly perfect for us, and I would rate her 6 out of 6 fingers on one hand." ...David (and Lizz) | Chateau Wyuna Mount Evelyn

09.01.2022 Ellie & Chris Ellie's Version "Chris proposed to me. It was on our first anniversary. He met me after dancing and we were planning on going out for dinner but when I parked my car he got into the passenger seat. I gave him my gift then he pulled an engagement ring. He just looked at me with a big grin and I smiled back. We just stayed looking at each other like that for a while. Then I said to him "are you going to ask me something?" eventually he did and I said yes. We de...cided we wouldn't tell anyone before dinner and it was so special to have an hour or so that it was just us in our own happy bubble. Then to share it with our families just made it even more special!" Chris's Version "We spent Christmas apart in 2015. Ellie had been on her own in Europe in 2014 and I had disappointing Christmas the same year when my long-term relationship ending on the boxing day. Due to that we were both keen to spend Christmas with our families that year. The difficulty being my parents live 3.5 hours away. During that week away I missed her so much that I knew this relationship was really meaningful to me. I went away in February 2016 with my brother to Bali for two weeks. I had a great time but once again I missed her like crazy. It was on that holiday that I knew I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. From there I began planning my proposal to her. For me the date it happened was the most important thing. I didn’t care where or how just that it had to be on the 18th of July 2016. Exactly 12 months after we officially became a couple. I bought the ring in June and asked her father soon after. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much option of where and how as Ellie taught dance on Monday nights. So, it was to be near the dance hall before we went for dinner. Both of us being introvert's it was never going to be a restaurant proposal. So unromantically I proposed to her in the car before we went to dinner"

06.01.2022 VIC MARRIAGE CERT DELAYS Some of you may have heard me talking about the delays at the Vic BDM on ABC Melbourne Radio this morning. There are major delays in issuing marriage certificates (and birth and death certificates), which has been going on for months now.... As a celebrant I’ve emailed their BDM Critical email several times over the past few months - and haven’t had a single response yet! I’ve also had the BDM tell clients their marriage docs weren’t received by them - which they were. What this mornings conversation highlighted was this is a huge issue impacting people right across the state. Couples with visa, legal, health, mortgage and Centrelink issues are all being affected by this. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? It’s probably not going to get better anytime soon. Although the ABC want to stay in touch with me about the issue, which is a great sign they’ll follow up. So, that means if you were married this year you could be in for a long wait for certificates. Given the backlog, if you were married in the past month you may be looking at least 2, maybe even 3+ months to get your official marriage certificate. Remember, not all celebrants include ordering the certificate as part of their service, like I do. So you may want to check with your celebrant if you’re unsure - and order your own now, even if you won’t need it for a while. There is no phone number and emails from couples and celebrants alike are being routinely ignored. So, if you can wait - great, sit tight. If you’re affected by one of the issues I listed above - and you’ve already waited for than 8 weeks - then you may want to contact the Ombudsman and make an official complaint. Another caller this morning said that worked for him. I expect they’ll throw some resources towards this soon, so if it isn’t urgent for you, please do be patient to allow others with more critical needs to be processed before you. 06.01.2022 Celebrate! If you book your lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage today you'll be able to be legally married AFTER lockdown. Huzzah!
05.01.2022 Will & Naomi wanted to say as little as legally possible In their wedding! So they wrote personal asking questions, instead of vows. The advantage of this is that it is obvious to everyone that the couple of writtent the Asking, but I’m the one who reads it. So they only have to say I do! Then they simply repeated the legally required marriage vow after me. Check it out... Will, do you - after ten years, two kids, a house and several gold fish - take Naomi to be your 'one a...nd only' forever? Do you promise that you actually do a good job with the house work - and not just a half-arsed attempt? Do you promise to let her nap on weekends? And to deal with her OCD in organisation and over preparation for all situations? Do you promise to take this beautiful, creative - and sometimes crazy woman - to be your wife, to make her laugh each day and support her through good times and bad? Above all, do you promise to keep Naomi as your favourite person, be proud of her always, grow old with her and find new reasons to love her every day? Will - I do Naomi, do you promise to love Will unconditionally - despite his taste in music, unique sense of humour and excessive online gaming? Do you promise to stay out of the kitchen and to stop packing things away before he has finished with them? Do you promise to always be there to kiss him goodnight (every night) - even in the unlikely event that he may have been a jerk at some point that day? Do you promise to make him smile every day? And to always comfort and support him, and love and care for him, through good times and bad? Above all, do you promise to keep Will as your favourite person, be proud of him always, grow old with him and find new reasons to love him every day? Naomi - I do (Will, please repeat after me...) I call upon the persons here present... ...to witness that I, William, take you, Naomi, ...to be my lawful wedded wife. With this ring I join my life with yours. [gives ring] (Naomi, please repeat after me...) I call upon the persons here present... ...to witness that I, Naomi, take you, William, ..to be my lawful wedded husband. With this ring I join my life with yours. [gives ring]

26.12.2021 Michelle & Zhong's Proposal Story Michelle’s Version: One of our favourite things to do in summer is spend time at the beach. Zhong was flying out to China with his family in late December so that meant I wouldn’t see him for a few weeks (and that our window for beach time would be shortened). He drove us out to Bushranger’s Bay on 23/12. My preferred beach weather is about 33C when we got there it felt like low 20s, which definitely wasn’t ideal! We then had to trek a ...fair way to get to the beach from the carpark, it felt like it would have taken us around 20 minutes on foot. I recall some light rain at certain points, and we also encountered an echidna! When we finally got to the beach his family was also there, but we sat separately a bit further away on a slightly elevated spot and hoped for the sun to come out. After awhile he mentioned that he had an early Christmas present for me which I was confused by given we’d already decided what we were getting for Christmas (cookbooks which we thought each other would like). When I turned around to look at him he was holding the ring box, which was an awesome surprise (it also suddenly made sense why he was so intent on going to the beach that day despite the plainly average weather)! Afterwards we took some photos around Cape Schanck and went to our favourite winery for food, Paringa Estate. Zhong’s Version: I proposed at Bushranger Bay on the Mornington Peninsula. It was supposed to be a day with nice weather and the beach was meant to be very nice. However, the walk through the bush to get to the bay was tougher than expected and it started to rain. When we did get to the beach, it at least stopped raining and when there was a bit of sunlight I popped the question. She responded with a yes obviously but then said cheekily that it was a "maybe". I knew for a while that she was the person that I wanted to marry. I was just thinking about it more and more towards the end of 2017 and even though it was earlier than I was expecting for it to happen, I just wanted to do it and felt right.
13.12.2021 Pamela & Daryl - A vow of an everlasting love Pam’s Vows: The love I have for you Daryl is the love I never saw coming. The one that looked all wrong for us. ... This is the love that came so easy it didn’t seem possible. Our connection can’t be explained but we just fit. We have no expectation about how we should act There is no pressure to become someone other than who we already are. This is the love that just feels right without any rationale. There is something so mesmerizing, so beautiful and just a little bit frightening about seeing a man love your children as if they were his own. The love you have for Xavier, Autumn and I is shown in everything you do, every single day. And I promise to never take those small things for granted. I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Pamela, take you, Daryl, to be my lawful wedded husband. With this ring, I join my life with yours. Daryl’s Vows: From the moment I first saw you I was captured by your smile. In our early weeks together we quickly realized we shared similar values on; raising children, the importance of family, and the need to work hard to succeed in business. Our similar passions for music, exercise, socialising with friends, and travel bonded us together, far quicker than either of us could have imagined. You soon become my soul mate, who helped me rediscover life and love. And four wonderful years on you continue to amaze me......you are never angry, never judgemental, always positive, but sufficiently cautious to balance my eternal optimism. You have become my best friend and confidante. You are a wonderful mother, so caring, protective and passionate You are the most generous person I have ever met, happy to donate the little we have to others in need. I am truly blessed to have found someone as amazing as you propose to me.....how could I say no! So before you change your mind, I am delighted to call upon everyone present (in particular Xavier and Autumn) to witness that I, Daryl, take you, Pamela, to be my lawfully wedded wife With this ring, I join my life with yours.
26.11.2021 Megan & Nicholas' Proposal Story Megan's Version: "Nick proposed, and I was not expecting it in the slightest. We were at the snow with friends, and it was just the 2 of us. My snow boots had been a little uncomfortable, so I decided I wanted to go fix them. Well Nick had other ideas and kept trying to cuddle me and be romantic. Well I had other plans and tried to get away from him. Until he got down on 1 knee. I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. I just kept asking i...f he was serious. over and over again. Then, without thinking, I took the ring out of the box, and put it on my finger. Then realised I hadn't actually said yes!! Which was why Nick hadn't moved yet. So I said yes. we hugged alot, then I realised our friends had come back early and were wandering around the house behind us. Then reaLised NICK WAS FILMING THE WHOLE THING!!! I was shocked. but excited. It was a fantastic moment." Nicholas' Version: "A couple of years into our relationship I left Victoria for work. Leavening friends, family and above all Megan was the hardest thing I had to do. Megan and I spent a year apart with few visits between. My decision to propose was based on whether Megan moved up to Port Hedland with me. In 2015 I traveled to Victoria for my mothers surprise 50th birthday. I quickly realized this was the only trip I was away long enough from Megan to hunt around for an engagement ring and also ask her parents' blessing to spend the rest of our lives together. Once I had the ring in my possession the last thing I wanted was to lose it or worse have it stolen. So when I returned to Hedland I made sure that it was kept in the safest of all places... Berried 1 meter in the ground under a trailer parked over it. It remained there for 3 months until it had a holiday to the snow. I proposed on the 28th September 2015 at Falls Creek snow resort."

I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Andrea, take you, Steven, to be my lawful wedded husband. Steve, please accept this ring as a symbol of my love and let it remind you that I am always by your side, even when we are apart. With this ring I join my life with yours. Steven's Vows: Andrea, today we add our lives together. Although through the course of this integration we may come across division, it will not subtract from my love for you. The roots of my love for you run deep, and will continue to grow exponentially, even when we are well past our prime. Anni, I look forward to waking up tomorrow, having you as my wife, and knowing how difficult it will be for your students to come to grips with referring to you as Mrs Barrow. Anni, please accept this ring as a symbol of my love and let it remind you that I am always by your side, even when we are apart. With this ring I join my life with yours.

26.10.2021 Tiani & Ken - A vow of a happy ever after Tiani's Vows: "Ken, even though I am unsure about most things in life, there is nothing in the world that I am more sure about than you. I first knew I loved you when the word home, went from a place to a person, when it changed from four walls, to two eyes and a heartbeat. ... You're home. You're my place of comfort and calm and I always promise to be yours. I promise to inspire you, to challenge you and to always encourage you to grow. I vow to always respect and support your passion for drifting and in doing so, I promise to talk less while we're on the track. I promise to value our differences as much as our common ground and I promise to be your best friend and your biggest fan. I vow to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they're not. I choose you, to always be who you are, because I love all that you are, all that you have been and I trust in all that's left to be discovered about you. I vow that I will continue to fall more in love with you every day for the rest of our lives, without reservation. I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Tiani, take you, Kenneth, to be my lawful wedded husband." Ken's Vows: "Tiani, I love you with all of my heart. As cliché as it sounds, you truly are my best friend in this universe. Since first laying eyes on you, there was never a doubt you would be an important piece to my puzzle. It's crazy to think just how important a piece you have become. The day we started looking at display homes in what feels like a life time ago, is the day I had no doubt in my mind I wanted you to be my wife. Over the past 8 years, we have learnt so much about each other and experienced so many truly awesome things together. I honestly cannot wait to spend the rest of my life growing with you. I endeavour to be there for you through all of our peaks and hardships, to make you life fun filled and never boring, to hug you tight, tell you how much I love you, and how truly beautiful you are. You and your gorgeous green eyes mean the absolute world to me. You make me complete and knowing you feel the same makes me happier than any words can describe. It is the greatest honour to call you my soul mate, and to now make a very important declaration in front the people we care for the most; I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Kenneth, take you, Tiani, to be my lawful wedded wife."
