25.01.2022 Community objection to the helipad proposal. We hope the council fights to support the residents and ratepayers objections.

24.01.2022 Johnson Property Group (JPG) lodged the Helipad Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) documents with Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC) on 30/04/2018. This means that the current development application DA/1176/2014 a Designated Development for a helipad at Trinity Point is being processed by LMCC and will be assessed by LMCC. You can view these documents submitted by the developer on; http://apptracking.lakemac.com.au//Applicati/default.aspx you will need to put in the 1...Continue reading

16.01.2022 We are now ‘down to the wire’ with the Trinity Point Helipad application. The community meeting Lake Macquarie City Council’s (LMCC) legal team (Maddocks Pty. Ltd.) have organised a community meeting on the 16th January at Morisset Country Club from 6 pm to 8 pm and if you haven’t already done so please ring Rebecca on 02 9291 6233 or email [email protected] to let her know you will be attending. If you cannot do this, still come along as it is important to sh...ow community strength. The Land and Environment Court Hearing The court hearing is scheduled for 10 am the 29th January on-site at Trinity Point and it’s important we show well behaved community strength. On this day the hearing will be for the Modification 3 application Johnson Property Group has lodged with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. Morisset Park and District Action Group (MPDAG) have put forward 6 witnesses: 1. Greg Piper state member for Lake Macquarie. Greg does not support the helipad. 2. Tom Dumbrell ex policy advisor for NSW Premier and President of MPDAG. Tom, will put forward the community objections re: Social, economic and environmental impact. 3. A representative from Brightwaters School re: the impacts of noise during learning. 4. John Skewes Current Commodore of Mannering Park Yacht Club will put forward the impact of helicopter operations on an existing aquatic licence. 5. John Quinlan ex State Government re: the impacts of helicopters on Lake Macquarie water users. 6. Irene Bates ex seaplane operator, professional sailor and trainer for National Parks and Wildlife helicopter pilots re: Objections to JPG’s acoustic report and proposed flight paths. Morisset Park and District Action Group’s preparation for the above Many thanks to those who have donated $$’s during these past weeks as we have been able to: 1. Print 1000 flyers for a letterbox drop cost $217.00 2. Place a page advertisement in this week’s local Lakes Mail newspaper cost $393.00 None of this could have ever happened if it wasn’t for your generous donations. Many thanks. MPDAG’s bank balance is now $150.00. Many thanks to the volunteers who have delivered the letterbox flyers for their time, effort and shoe leather. A great community team effort. Well done to all. You are valued. See you on the 16th January at Morisset Country Club for the community meeting. See more

16.01.2022 Want to object to the helipad proposal and send in a submission? The MPDAG website has a number of different objections listed. Please email: [email protected] if you would like any help making a submission

11.01.2022 As of yesterday, MPDAG were advised by Dept of Planning and Environment that the submission deadline is being moved to the 20 January. HOWEVER, don't keep putting it off and then leave it too late to get your submission in!

08.01.2022 Calling out to any locals around the Morisset/Brightwaters area. NBN is coming in tomorrow (Tuesday 14 Jan) to do a piece on the Helipad and the community objection to it. Keen to get some additional bodies into the coverage which will then air on Wednesday. If you are at all available the meeting point is Trinity point at 10.30am tomorrow.

08.01.2022 MPDAG are working hard to oppose the helipad development proposal in Bardens Bay. We need as much community support to help fight this battle against the developer. See our website for more information. www.mpdag.com.au

06.01.2022 Don't forget 20 Jan is the deadline to submit your objection to the helipad propsal. Go to www.mpdag.com.au for a link to the Dept of Planning site where you can simply lodge an objection.

05.01.2022 If anyone is being disturbed by the helicopter flying over Bardens Bay this morninf - please log a complaint with CASA: 1800802584. I've judt called - they can't tell me who it is. It might not be developers - but worth logging noise complaint for any helicopter noise.

04.01.2022 We are most disappointed to see that Council have submitted a 'tacit' approval of the helipad proposal, with a number of discrepancies in their submission. Now is the time to write to council to express your concern that council is not fairly representing the community that voted it in. During elections last year, many of the current councilors were asked their position on the helipad and the feedback from many current councilors was that there was no economic benefit to the... community for a helipad to be built . The helipad is NOT going to benefit local residents - it will be catering for the wealthy outside the area. Surely councils role is to represent the local ratepayers. With approximately 500 submissions to the Dept of Planning and Environment, and only about 10 of them in favour - surely that is evidence enough that the local residents DO NOT WANT this helipad (which was clear back in 2008 when the original proposal for the helipad was removed from the submission). We now have to ask - who is council representing here - the residents or the developer?

04.01.2022 Actions to show that the community does not want a helipad! Anyone living locally to Bardens Bay should have by now received a letter from the NSW Department of Planning and Environment (DoPE) and the legal team (Maddocks Pty. Ltd.) representing Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC) advising you that Johnson Property Group (JPG) has lodged action in the NSW Land and Environment Court. Both the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and LMCC legal teams oppose JPG’s helipad a...pplication on behalf of the community, but they need your continued help and support! Community attendance LMCC’s legal team has arranged for a community meeting on: 16/01/2019 at Morisset Golf Club 6 pm to 8 pm. The purpose of this meeting is to; a) Explain the on-site Land and Environment Court hearing @ Trinity Point on 29/01/2019. b) Explain the strategies and legal arguments LMCC will use to oppose the helipad c) Explain the strategies and legal arguments JPG will use. d) Gather additional information from the community in preparation for the on-site land and environment court hearing. How MPDAG needs help The legal teams’ needs the community to show strength and you can do this by: 1. Emailing [email protected] and confirming your attendance at the community meeting Morisset Golf Club on 16/01/2019 6 pm to 8pm or you can call Rebecca on 02 92916233. 2. Attending the Land and Environment Court hearing at Trinity Point on 29/01/2019 on this day the community needs to show strength in numbers (to the court) that the community will not accept a ‘horse trade- off’ e.g. reduced number of helicopter flights. 3. Passing this information onto your friends and/or family with requests that they also attend as numbers at both venues are vitally important for people power is stronger than people in power! Community Support $$ donations Morisset Park and District Action Group (MPDAG) volunteers have been fighting Johnson Property Group’s helipad application since 2006. MPDAG recognises the demographics has changed over the years and your neighbours and friends need to be informed of the social impact helicopter operations will bring to this area. A donation will help with the costs for printing flyers and signs which are needed to maximise community support. How to make a donation Please email MPDAG for bank details where donations can be made. Every $5-$10 will help. More than 7000 homes are affected by this helipad application.
