25.01.2022 After months of driving lessons, that is a licence in Kellys hand Kelly is our 6th person to obtain their licence through Mphatso. Some have left for South Africa but all have a skill to set them up for life. So happy, so proud. And to his sponsor, we applaud you!

24.01.2022 Greetings from the warm heart of Africa, Malawi. What times we are living in. From our hearts to yours we send love. Our situation here is something we also have not experienced before. Schools are closed. For us this means children will be without their porridge. We have communal soap, kids play then come for soap go to the lake bathe and back to the village. I still had small soaps from the container so gave some of the children their own soap and explained about not sha...ring. Came outside and they all were drinking water from the same cup. How do you explain to people that are communal in every sense not to share. Most families sit in a circle and eat from the same dishes. IF the virus hits Malawi we are in for huge challenges. No medical equipment to check for the virus, let alone any form of treatment. But we are a nation of prayers and believing for a miracle. Stay safe everyone. We still have toilet paper! See more

22.01.2022 Like the rest of the world, Malawi has been impacted by the COVID-19 Epidemic. With all schools/universities shut down, and many jobs affected we need your support now more than ever. If you are financially able, please donate to the Mphatso Children's Foundation. Bendigo Bank BSB 633 000 Account Number 1278 61631 www.mphatso.org/donate

21.01.2022 Dont think miracles and good things have stopped! There are angels doing their stuff. Iron sheets donated to fix my leaking roof. Another kilo baby provided with baby formula. A young lady off to do nursing training. Deposit paid and now we wait for this crazy virus to go and she will begin. Our lockdown on hold because more will die from hunger than the virus. We still need another miracle for Malawi.

21.01.2022 Since its opening a few weeks ago, great training has been taking place at the AP Education Centre, Kawiya, with almost 100 people attending the first session, including 18 trainers and 80 attendees. A huge thank you to everyone involved as so far it has been a massive success! No kitchen at Kawiya with the weather being unpredictable, so training moved to MCFs main centre at Mkuonda. The cooks from Kawiya were not disappointed - about missing out on piece work - they came to Mkuonda to help the cooks. Great for them to see what happens there. #mphatsochildrensfoundation #malawi #africa #warmheartofafrica

18.01.2022 A big THANK YOU to Jenny Parker , Bruno & Jenny Bomitali , Haylea Vagg Georgia Kitchin , Al & Amanda Divito and Scott & Jude. This team just returned from visiting Robyn & MCF in Malawi. They have completed many jobs along with being a big support to Robyn and the team.

18.01.2022 Yesterday was a very special and proud day for the Parker family - Jenny, Michael, Scott, Sarah, Val, Ken. The AP Education Centre (Alan Parker) was opened in front of a small gathering of family, friends, workers and some local friends. The building is in its final stages of being completed so as Jennys son Scott and grandson Jude were leaving the village to fly out today, the opening took place yesterday. Many thanks to the building team from Ocean Grove who worked ti...relessly on the building over the last few months. A huge thank you to Bruno who has been working on the final stages of the building over the last 4 weeks. Many thanks also to all the staff who have worked at the block from the beginning. This project would never have happened if it wasnt for Robyns vision, planning, overseeing and patience. The AP Education Centre will have such a positive impact on the local and surrounding communities and provide and deliver education and training. See more

15.01.2022 Look at this beautiful photo Andrea sent through of our dear friend Pastor Peter. I was so blessed to have received a phone call from him just before he went into hospital. Forever thankful that we expressed our love and respect for each other. Many of you go back further than my 20 years of friendship. We mourn with his family and community but smile when we remember him. Pastor Moffat and Pastor Alick and l were discussing his funeral arrangements and Alick had said Peter had contacted a few people. He also said Peter told him my boss is calling me and Im going home. So all you friends of this amazing man, we were truly blessed. He always had my back and l like many others will miss him dearly.

15.01.2022 A huge thank you to our friends from Milwaukee Tools for their very generous donation of demolition metal core screwdrivers, circular cordless saw and blades, drill impact driver, torch, saw grinder and batteries. Our friend Bruno took them over to Malawi a few weeks ago and they have been put to good use in completing the AP Education Centre and various other buildings. Certainly made life a lot easier with the Milwaukee donated tools.

15.01.2022 This is now officially called our ‘Black Plastic Dance’! This agogo (grandma) was just given plastic to put under her grass before the wet season really sets in. She told me she is 100 plus some more years old. The boys say at least in her 90’s. Demand is high for plastic but thanks to you we are meeting it. . ($6 replaces a roof)

13.01.2022 Every now and again something happens to encourage, excite, and remind us that we are on track. This is one of those moments. Recently we have had a team training our Nursery School teachers. Travelling from the UK under the direction of Love Support Unite, led by Nina, Alice and Gayle it was a fabulous week of learning. But beyond that week a band of like minded people have joined to help feed and grow our babies. The result of their compassion is that we have just purchased 2 months worth of baby formula plus soya for the porridge for the older babies. You cannot begin to imagine what that means to all involved with Mphatso both in Malawi and our hard working team in Oz. We are so very very thankful to you all. Our babies are blessed.

13.01.2022 The family through Joshua also wanted to pass on this message.

13.01.2022 Not only did a few kids get a nice warm jacket an entire school also were blessed with something warm to wear on these colder day. A huge shout out to our friends in Singapore for your gift to our little students at our Singapore nursery school. Every child went home warmer. Blessed.

12.01.2022 It's hard to imagine 35c at sunrise while living in Southern Australia ...

12.01.2022 Looks easy to me!

12.01.2022 This is Davie in the middle. He was one of our first nursery school teachers, he came to visit and two of his first pupils had also called in. Davie was so good he has worked his way from nursery to primary and now doing his passion, secondary school level training all thanks to his sponsor through Mphatso Children’s Foundation. Winners all round

12.01.2022 Meet Cecilia. She arrived to sift the maize looking like a model! One of our young mums in the village who does piece work/odd jobs to support her family. Just as beautiful on the inside.

09.01.2022 But there is more!!! 2 Nursery Schools receiving new jackets also ready for the wet season

08.01.2022 There is so much to tell you all but at the same time nothing! The weather is windy and quite cold for us. House shaking earth tremor to keep things interesting. Thank you friends in Shepp these are the last of the tops that came over in the container. So happy to still be blessing the communities with your gifts. We have had three babies die in 24 hours. Our little Violet had been on the program for nearly 2 years but just couldnt thrive. We have had our triplets grad...uate reached a healthy weight, if you gave any amount in these past years you helped to do that. Corona virus. I have no idea what is happening. Seems we have had 70 cases for over a week with no change. God is either doing a miracle in Malawi (totally possible) or we are not being told the full story (totally possible). No schools but we are having a football bonanza on the weekend. Political rallies are consuming peoples attention. Hundreds of thousands of people gathering to hear their favourite politician speak. Yes things are very different here!! All beach lodges closed. Many many workers on reduced hours or no work. No welfare back up so things are extremely tough for families to have food. We have sent food parcels to different families that l know are in dreadful circumstances. I am aware of the needs all over the world, from a distance. But can I ask that you remember how far a little can stretch here. Its a basic life. If we can provide soap, maize flour people are incredibly blessed. Please remember us,we are thankful for prayers, encouragement, gifts and your ongoing support for our beautiful friends in Malawi. LFJ Ama R. See more

08.01.2022 Looking forward to putting our new nursery school signs up! (Couldn’t buy orange paint. True story.)

07.01.2022 If you are feeling discouraged about the state of the world here is a good news story to warm your heart! Two dynamic siblings in Singapore have been following closely the living conditions of Malawians. They haven't just observed, they have acted on the injustice by putting together (by themselves) a video to promote awareness in one of the poorest countries in the world. Please take a few minutes to watch and consider if you would also like to help right a very big wrong.... Any financial support you can offer will have a tremendous impact and is greatly appreciated. You can donate via https://gogetfunding.com/fundraiser-for-mphatso-childrens-/ or Direct Deposit to our Bendigo Bank in Australia SWIFT CODE: BENDAU3BXXX BSB: 633 000 ACCOUNT: 1278 61631 Amaya and Yahni you are legends, thank you. We have purchased warm clothes and extra maize already.

06.01.2022 As it is the Hungry Season in Malawi, now is the perfect time to donate in honour of a loved one for the Christmas Season. Your donation of any chosen amount is life changing, with just AU$20 feeding a baby for a month. Please confirm your gift by emailing [email protected] and change a life this Christmas

05.01.2022 Thank you for giving this little one a chance at life

04.01.2022 I have so much to tell but Im reminded of the time I wrote a special card to a family member and asked a few days later if they had read it and the reply was no too many words! Please push through and keep reading!!! We have so much to be thankful for. We have been able to keep our teachers and cooks (approx 58 staff) on half wages, other staff still working on their full salaries. We continue to feed over 80 babies (15 sets of twins), support our 34 women in the Posit...ive Living Group. Provide emergency hospital transport, food parcels, medicine. All because you have kept giving. You may think it is only a little and not worth the effort but it adds to someone elses and makes a lot! The committee and l are so thankful for the support of our partners and friends in the UK. We have more babies alive and thriving because of you. An elderly man in the States who we have never met sent money for maize. We were able to buy extra bowls so the children dont have to wait for their turn. Hunger is aggressive and hunting down people, so even though schools are closed due to the impending virus, we have decided to have a feeding program twice a week at the nursery schools. Kids are hungry. The communities are very very thankful. We are thankful for your support no matter where you live, no matter if your support is through your prayers, kind thoughts or monetary gifts. We are able to do what we do because of you. Yewo. Our communities here in Malawi Africa are so appreciative of your love. See more
