23.01.2022 New things are always welcome here at OSHC! Our staff learnt how to play Duster Hockey at our Staff Games Night and yesterday, we introduced it to the kids. Will did an awesome job at explaining the rules, and the kids couldn’t get enough of it!

Steph has been a valued member of the MPSS OSHC team for the past 7 years and has seen many of our current cohort progress from prep through to senior schooling. We are sure to miss Steph’s natural connection with, and understanding of our children, plus her cheery personality. MPSS OSHC has been fortunate to keep Steph around for so long and we wish her all the best in her next chapter

16.01.2022 We picked a good day to enjoy The Croods: A New Age in the aircon! Finished it off with some delicious Chicken Tikka Masala and homemade naan bread. Thanks to Limelight Cinemas Ipswich for taking care of us, always lucky to enjoy a cinema to ourselves.

14.01.2022 Vacation Care Day 1 - Design Day Yesterday we saw a lot of creativity and innovation as children tried & tested marble runs, designed clothes ready for the runway, built boats & tested their buoyancy and designed bridges & tested their weight bearing capabilities.

11.01.2022 Today we said farewell to our ‘Responsible Person’ Theva. Theva has been a valued member of the MPSS OSHC team for the past 5years. We’re proud of Theva’s diligence in successfully completing his law degree & are excited to see what his future holds. We’re also jealous he managed to climb Urban Xtreme’s warped wall with ease... We’ll miss you Theva!

06.01.2022 Vacation Care Day 2 - Back to Basics Yesterday we took it back to basics and tried our hands at some life skills... knitting with Victoria ... wrote & posted letters via the OSHC mailbox sewed some bandanas and bows with Margaret made some focaccia bread with Jenn Riley and Christian showed us how to change a tyre including where to find the spare tyre & where to find/how to use your hazard lights Our Seniors collectively chose a recipe, ventured to Metro Middle Park with Katy and Amanda, bought fresh ingredients and came back to OSHC to whip up a deliciously healthy berry smoothie See more

04.01.2022 Friday morning started with some table colouring in. The children engaged well with the social aspect of a group artwork and had some suggestions for future projects.

02.01.2022 Skipping with Sharyn This morning some of our children asked if they could do some skipping. Sharyn got out the big skipping rope and tied it to the edge of the cricket nets. What started with a few children quickly grew to a large group as the different skipping songs gained popularity. The seniors were very helpful and encouraging towards the juniors, some of whom hadn’t skipped or ran in with a big rope before. What a nostalgic way to start our morning! MTOP: Outcome 4.1 - Children are confident & involved learners, freely following and extending on their own interests with enthusiasm, curiosity, energy & concentration.
