25.01.2022 Choose wisely...

24.01.2022 Beautiful day for it!

24.01.2022 Every Monday, we get together as a team to chat about the week just gone and what’s coming up in the week ahead. It’s also an opportunity for us to check in with Daz, who takes all of our ICE sessions and trains folks one on one at our studio, and make sure he’s doing well and has everything he needs to thrive Today, Daz had some tightness in his elbow, so Luke put his magical healing powers to good use and got him into all sorts of weird and wonderful positions to help Daz... ease it. It’s a fantastic way to start the week! Have you checked in with yourself to prepare for the week ahead? Happy Monday

23.01.2022 RECOVERY Yes, the workouts are important... But so is how you recover!... In this weeks Transformation Truth video, we share some simple ways to aid your recovery and stop feeling so sore and stiff all the time!

22.01.2022 We love our Mondays at Mums n Bubs! At the sessions, we are focusing a lot on: Hip flexor strength and stretches - as mums we spend a lot of time sitting and feeding our babies, and as a result, our hip flexors can get super tight. We work on hip flexors to strengthen them, as well as lengthen them out, to help avoid aches and pains developing (especially in the lower back). ... Building glute strength - throughout pregnancy, our centre of gravity changes as our babies grow. Our pelvis tilts forward and as a result, our glutes (the muscles in our butt) aren't worked in the same way. After having our babies, it's important to work on our glutes as our centre of gravity returns to where it was pre-baby. Our glutes support us throughout the day so these muscles need to be strong! Slowly easing back into running (when and if we're ready to) - it's not that everyone will necessarily be itching to get back into running. It's just that in order to be ABLE to run safely, pelvic floor strength must be restored.... Which can only have good benefits in every other area of life, right?! Amazing session this morning, ladies! Remember to stretch those hip flexors and quads... They may be sore tomorrow And if you'd like to come down to New Farm Park and trial our sessions, comment with INFO below and I'll send you the details about the sessions (and our September offer)!

20.01.2022 Another awesome Mums n Bubs session to start the week! Thanks ladies :) A big welcome to Louise, who had her first session with us today. You did great! Looking forward to seeing you back on Wednesday! A quick note about mums and sleep deprivation....... As a mother, one of the things that we battle with most is sleep! Some of us have catnappers, who only nap for short amounts of time during day... This means that getting things done is a huge challenge, creating stress and overwhelm, as we watch that to do list pile up. Some of us have babies who sleep in 2-3 hour blocks, waking regularly throughout the night to feed. This leads to constant fatigue and exhaustion, which can have a flow on effect to our moods and energy levels. You know what helps with this stuff? Exercise! Getting the blood pumping is a great way to squash stress, and although it's counter-intuitive, exercising can actually give you MORE energy to get through those long days (and nights)! Not to mention, exercise has been proven to have a positive affect on mood and the fresh air certainly helps, too! So, if you're a new mum who is battling sleep deprivation, low energy, and generally feeling BLAH, we'd love to help! Comment below with INFO and I'll send you the details for how you can get started with a free week trial of our Mums n Bubs sessions!

20.01.2022 Big smiles after a toughie - the old favourite, "Sally" session, never disappoints A very big welcome to Jackie, who joined us for her first workout yesterday! I hope you are feeling great today, albeit probably a little sore! And a great effort from everyone! So awesome to see your progress every week ... Thank you to Dani and Carolina for referring Jackie to us - we so appreciate you sharing us with your friends! See you all next week, ladies! x P.S. If you'd like to give our sessions a go, please comment below with INFO and book a free 1 week trial! We'd love for you to give our sessions a try

19.01.2022 In my early 20s, I used to love going to my local gym to do Body Attack or Body Step classes. Having a dancing background, the choreographed movements really attracted me to these particular classes. Recently, whilst I was trying to decide what I should do for a quick workout, I had a thought... Why don’t you do some Body Attack?... I’ve been working on trusting my intuition a lot more lately, so I didn’t question it. I just found a Body Attack playlist on Spotify, set my timer for 20 minutes and went for it. I did whatever came to my mind - running on the spot, squats, high knees, grapevine, kicks, etc etc. It wasn’t perfect, but it was movement, and I got a great sweat up by the end of the workout! And I had such a great time! I loved being creative and moving my body in a way I used to enjoy so thoroughly. The whole point of this post is to nudge you ever so gently towards the things, movements, activities that you used to love to do. Was it long hikes? Bike rides along the esplanade? Karate? Dance? Most of us grew up doing an activity we loved, so why not incorporate some of that into your workouts today, if possible? You may not be able to execute it the way you used to, or it may not look or feel exactly the same, but I bet you’ll find it fun, and it will bring back some amazing feelings and memories for you!

16.01.2022 Well done to this incredible group of women on another great week of training This week, we welcomed Laura to the team - hope you're feeling good today after your first workout yesterday, Laura! You did so great! Yesterday, we did a full body workout - push ups, squats, scap flutters, lunges, etc.... ... And then Luke showed us some simple ways to stretch and roll out sore and tight spots. With all of the sitting and feeding and rocking we do with our babies, mums can often experience tightness in hip flexors, chest and glute areas. There's always a way to ease it, though - you just have to know how! Enjoy the rest of your week, team, and we will see you on Monday! And if you want to join in with us, now is a great time! Our October offer is here and you can get your first week of training for just $5! Comment below with INFO if you'd like me to send you more details about our sessions.

14.01.2022 Have you ever been to a gym and felt totally overwhelmed by the people, equipment and your own fears and doubts? Have you ever been a member of a gym and felt like just another number, just another membership, just another dollar in the owners bank account? Have you ever been to a gym in an effort to see progress, but you stopped going after a few weeks or months because you weren’t getting anywhere?... I sure have. And it felt pretty shitty! And it’s for these reasons that we at MP never want to become a big gym. We always want to be a family business - know our members’ names, their kids names, what’s going on in their lives, what’s important to them! We want to provide clear instructions on the exercises to do, why we do them and how they can benefit you. We want to provide a safe, comfortable space for you to be yourself! We want you to see REAL results and empower you to find your own greatness We’ve been delivering group sessions in New Farm for 10 years now and we love it Comment below with INFO if you’d like to learn more about how you can get access to 7 different classes every week! We offer a trial week of classes so you can get to know us and make sure these classes will work for you

12.01.2022 2020 has been full of ups and downs, stress and uncertainty, and like most people, our family hasn't been immune to it all. After a bit of a rough patch a few months back, we've realised the increased need for regular self-care and implemented a few things we can do as a family unit to best look after US. Our weekly Sunday morning beach trip is a big part of that! ... Sand between our toes, swims in the ocean, reading books in the sunshine, while the kids play.... Our idea of bliss. Beach trips aren't everyone's favourite way to unwind. But I encourage you to find yours. Your soul will thank you for it

11.01.2022 Something to think about as we move towards the new year

11.01.2022 One for the parents Hope you manage to get some sleep this weekend!

10.01.2022 I shared this post last year around this time, and it seemed appropriate again today.... I put on some Christmas songs in the car this morning and out of nowhere, fell apart. Christmas is a beautiful time, but it can also bring up loss and grief in ways that you can't prepare for. ... And this year, with so many families unable to gather as usual, it's going to be a particularly hard time. To anyone who is missing someone, grieving someone, separated from their loved ones or in hospital looking after loved ones this Christmas, I'm sending lots of love your way

06.01.2022 We wrapped up our year of Mums n Bubs training today, and what a wonderful year it was! It's such a privilege to work with mums in this phase of life. As Luke said today at the session, being a mother to young children can be isolating at the best of times.... Throw in a global pandemic and it takes it to a whole new level! We feel very lucky to not only meet these amazing women, but also allow them to connect with, and become friends with, other women in a similar phase of... life. It's a real community and we always look forward to our sessions with our mums and their bubs :) A special mention must go to Shannon and Elliott, 2 of the dads, who joined us today. Great to have you along and put a face to the names we've heard so much (good stuff!) about. Thanks for supporting us this year, mamas! You're all doing a wonderful job, raising amazing humans

05.01.2022 This feels very relatable at the moment, with school holidays in full force
