23.01.2022 !!!WARNING!!! this is a blower im fitting for a customer, while inspecting all the parts and the unit itself before fitting i noticed one of the blower bolts were missing. I checked everywhere and unwrapped all the other components and packaging with it nowhere to be seen. On further inspection I checked the lower ports that feed the heads and what do you know it was hiding in there. You'd never expect it to come out and make its way in there but it did. Unfortunately... from 2 states over the delivery drivers are rough and chuck these boxes around as much as we wish they wouldn't, they do, shit works itself loose and you end up with parts where they shouldn't be. 14.01.2022 #hsv #vxclubsport we had in last weekend. Had some major diff and driveline issues. Diff was replaced with a new 4.11 #diff with a #mechanical #locker . Along the way we found some other issues that needed seeing to. The rear axles had had it and also the centre bearing bolt threads were pretty much non existent. 13.01.2022 One from a couple weeks back ive been meaning to post, we cover all makes and models even though #holden and #hsv are our specialty. This customer had issues of being under power and said the exhaust was glowing red hot after short drives, has had 2 other mechanics look at it and have been trying to fix the issue for over a month, they threw a couple of sensors at it and still haven't fixed the problem. Luckily we found the problem to be a faulty coil pack and broken leads causing the drama. Quick fix and back out on the road. Awesome little cars to drive! 09.01.2022 Gene's HSV VF Maloo was brought to us a few weeks ago for some engine work and supporting mods for a Harrop Supercharger. We've got a few photos and some info here of the build along the way. THE BUILD: The Supercharger used is a Harrop Engineering FDFI2300 running 950cc injectors and 8PK belt setup with mods to the engine including ... -Harrop H04 camshaft -LS7 Lifters -Fresh guides -Double row timing chain -10% higher volume oil pump -ARP Bolts throughout including rod bolts -LS9 head gaskets suited for boost (extra layers) -Higgins Racing heads -Double valve springs -Rocker trunnion upgrade -Strengthened pushrods -New gaskets top to toe and the crank was also pinned for a slip guard. -Custom catch can and rocker covers to suit -Some custom fab dramas were sorted out by Justbenny fabrication -Twin 3 XForce Performance Exhaust with headers and high flow cats, all pushed through a twin-plate clutch from Direct Clutch Services through to the tyres with whatever hope they have of getting power to the ground... We carefully pieced this all together and sent it out to Torque n Tune for Craig to sort a healthy peak of 756rwhp on a 34c day at 11.5psi. Believe it or not, she’s still running the standard fuel pump and fuel system (which is more than capable of these figures) which were implemented from VE Series 2 to be compatible with E85 fuels. 08.01.2022 Had an emergency call out to a 09' Fiesta with stalling issues and not being able to drive properly, fortunately it was a reasonably cheap and easy fix of a blocked PCV and split breather hose. New genuine parts and the Fiesta is good as gold again. Don't forget about your main mode of transport over the holiday period. After a quote? 08.01.2022 Matt rolled in to us this week for some upgrades to his immaculate HSV GTS LSA VF. Being bog stock and not wanting to go to crazy for the moment some mild mods were fitted as followed: BTR camshaft BTR Double valve springs Hardened 7.400" pushrods LS7 lifters and buckets... Rollmaster timing chain ARP Cam and crank bolts Crow Cams rocker trunnion upgrade Mellings oil pump Improved racing pickup brace Harrop pod intake LS9 Head gaskets Supercharger insulator blanket Xforce longtube headers and cats and twin 3" system And all new gaskets throughout Some small mods were made to the oil pump for less restriction to get rid of machining burrs as per photos amongst other small things found along the way. Pulling a first run on the dyno of 349rwkw and driving out the door with 455rwkw is pretty good gains considering the mods. This girl will be back for more work down the track so stay tuned. 07.01.2022 We’ve been busy the last few days here at the Garage so haven't had a chance to post, but a little update on this weeks GTS: Whilst stripping the motor down, we found a fair amount of metal flake from the bearings and as you can see, are badly damaged. There was also some unknown metal found in the pickup. Everything is damaged and scored as well. There’s a ballooned head gasket which is very unusual and all of the bores are warped. Some serious sorcery has been going on in... here! Have dropped the block off to be all tested to see what can be saved.
